I don't watch pro wrestling any more. I used to be a big smark back in the day reading Meltzer and what not. But I did watch the night Bret Hart came back and TNA first went on Monday, what a joke. TNA was like watching a WCW Nitro re-run from '97, except everyone was 13 years older and a little more gray (or a lot more gray for Kevin Nash). Even watching WWE was weak. Bret Hart looked like shit and watching him talk to HBK was lame. The kick to the groin was lame at the end. Man, I can't enjoy wrestling anymore.

That's what I read, as well. From what I understand he mandated the ramp. Hell, he can barely walk, much less climb stairs or roll his haggard ass into the ring.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This in its own special way is in the race for most ridiculous PPV in history. No announced finish in the TNA Title match. A Three Stooges routine Syxx losing the spray can twice in two minutes. Hype that promised an X Division main event and the X Division Title match was buried in the middle between two wrestlers not even close to over. Rob Terry, a Warlord knockoff straight out of the 1980s getting a monster push by squashing Magnus, who actually has an upside. Kurt Angle opening up a blood feud grudge match with a two minute side headlock. I can think of no more fitting symbolism than the body outline in the ring throughout the second half of this show. I'd recommend the replay just so you can see for yourself how clueless this company is and how lacking any cohesive vision this regime has.

As long as TNA is still paying the bills with advertising, SPIKE is fine with it.

TNA is technically already on borrowed time. They are attempting to keep their sponsors with all this "great new stars coming" line of BS. The problem is they are not living up to their promises of "better".

As soon as the sponsors back out, (and they will when the ratings don't climb) SPIKE will cancel it (for financial reasons as with any other television program) and Bitchoff will blame the EXEC in charge for "Killing TNA". His faithful followers will buy into the shit that it was NOT his and goon's fault...

Spike and TNA signed a 3 year deal in the last few months. So as long as TNA gives them product it will be aired and Spike pays TNA x-amount per episode no matter what the ratings. But if the show doesn't deliver ratings, TNA won't be worth shit when they need to find a US outlet when that contract expires.

TNA is dependent on a lot of their income from overseas. Same deal over there where they collect on delivered programming.

The bigger question comes in a few month when they evaluate if what they've spent out the last few months is delivering any benefit or driving them further into the hole.

Of course the ironic thing was last night's PPV ending with TNA stars being in a hole!

Hey... I realize all that contractual shit... but the WWE was delivering high ratings to USA some years ago (always has) and at that point the woman in charge of USA programming was happy with the WWE, ad rates, ratings, etc...


Yet she still went to Vince and Kevin Dunn and used her influence & network experience to try and get them to book better storylines, and to get them to change other parts of RAW for the better in her professional opinion.

By improving the way things were booked and overall run... that would in theory provide more opportunities to attract more fans and keep them coming back every week in a way she knew it was possible as a tv programming professional... and with just a few changes she felt RAW would get better ratings, and that would benefit the WWE and USA in their partnership.


Although Vince and the WWE didn't have to listen, they did.

That's why smart partnerships always make a shitload more money than arrogant assholes convinced they are the only one with a clue or vision.


If TNA would finally listen to SOMEONE who isn't a fucking selfish, self serving, bullshit artist, fucking asshole --- there is no way things could be worse, only getting better.
