As for the Clippers, they're doom as long as they're playing in L.A.. They're basically the JV team because they're always in the Lakers' shadow. Why they haven't at least moved down to Anaheim and gotten some breathing space, I can't imagine.

So they're sorta like the west coast version of the Mets.

Sort of... Imagine if the Mets had to play all their home games in Yankee Stadium under all those championship banners and retired numbers. That's what it's like for the Clippers at Staples Center.

The ownership foolishly wanted to try and compete with the Lakers for L.A.'s fans. The only reason people go to the Clippers games at Staples is because Lakers games are too outrageously priced/hard to get tickets to for people who want to take their kids to see an NBA game.

The Clippers lease is up again in 2014. At that point, I wouldn't be surprised to see them move to Anaheim... or Seattle... or KC... or St. Louis... or Pittsburgh... or Vegas...

That's what a lot of my my friends in that area have told me. That the Clippers merely exist b/c most working class folks can't afford a Laker ticket, and they take the kiddies to see the Clippers. They have also commented on how odd it seems to watch the Clippers play in a building full of Lakers Championship banners, and to a lesser degree Kings regalia, but no sign that the Clippers play there.....

I don't know what other provider's NBA season ticket looks like, but it's fan the fucktastic looking on DirecTV. You can choose between either the home or away broadcast as well, all in HD. I like Directv.

Looks like the other athletic shoe dropped on Dallas radio guy Mike Bacsik after his 'dirty Mexicans' comment following last night's Spurs win.

According to a statement posted on the KTCK (Ticket 1310) Web site, Bacsik — a radio producer, Saturday talk host and former major league pitcher; has been suspended by the radio station.

Here are the words from KTCK/Cumulus vice president and market manager Dan Bennett: "Mike Bacsik's comments were unacceptable and offensive, and are inconsistent with the core values of KTCK and Cumulus. We have made the decision to suspend Mr. Bacsik with the hope that he will take this time to consider the insensitive and hurtful nature of his comments."

The main comment that landed him in hot water: "Congrats to all the dirty Mexicans in San Antonio."

According to Dallas Observer blogger Robert Wilonsky, however, that wasn't the only remark that angered radio management. Maybe this one, too, had something to do with it: "If I get cancer and I'm going to die I will blow NBA offices."

Damn, how did I miss this thread?? Being a Spurs fan, I naturally hate the Mavs and everything about them. Mark Cuban is the biggest piece of shit in the NBA and is an embarasment to the sport. Don't even get me started on Dirk. A lot of people claim Duncan is a cry baby, but he ain't even close, Dirk is just a total bitch in every sense. I used to like Najera because he is a decent player and played high school in San Antonio but that shit he pulled Sunday night was just ridiculous. It looks like the Spurs are going to lose tonight, but I would love nothing more for the Spurs to close it out with a big bang next game in SA. Even if they don't make the finals, beating the second ranked Mavs will be a success.

Ya but unlike P13 I have been a die hard Spurs fan since I was old enough to know what sports were. The Spurs are playing good, and I chose to support my favorite team with a pic in my sig. I'm from SA, the Spurs have always been my favorite team. If I wanted to jump on any team's bandwagon, why would I choose the 7th ranked team in the Western conference?

I doubt the NBA will allow another team so close to Orlando, and if they did, it would be over in the Tampa area. I can't see JAX getting a new building done either since they've had so many problems getting anything decent to keep the Jaguars in town.

I get the feeling KC (who have a brand new arena and no pro team) and St Louis will make major plays for any struggling teams in the next couple years.
