Jose Mourinho does it again, and this time makes it a treble. The guy is a winner despite his flaws. I'd be highly surprised if Real don't make a move.

He is a winner. Also, the Argies look good up front.

Blackpool in the Prem!!!! Like Bradford when they got in. Just does not sound right.

Agreed. But at least Blackpool has some kind of history. Yes it's from way back, but any club that had Stanley Mathews playing for them deserves a mention in the history books. I hope they don't do anything stupid and over spend.

Emlyn Hughes and Alan Ball too (AB was at Blackpool when England won the WC). Really made up for Blackpool winning the play off. My dad's a long suffering Seasider. He went today with some of his mates. I'm sure there was a combination of tears and laughter at the end.

I doubt Blackpool will buy any players of significance. They'll pocket the money (approx GBP90m), tidy up the ground/facilities and be better off for the future. Certs for relegation but they won't mind too much.

Good call on Bally Supersonic, it was after the World Cup that he moved from Blackpool to Everton.

I'm from the North West myself, Blackpool being one of my local seaside towns along with Southport.

And I think you are right, although they might get relegated straight away, that kind of money if used right could keep them as a yo-yo club between the prem and championship for a while. Rather than fighting relegation in the Championship.

That's one thing that goes against Jose - his style of play.

And at a place like Madrid, if you don't win AND play shitty football you will be sacked, no questions asked.

Nice to see Ribery stay at Bayern, I wondered if City or Chelsea might sign him.

True but it's gonna give the matches against Barca an extra charge. Not that those matches need any

The problem at Madrid is that they rather wish to win 4-3 than 1-0. There has to be goals.

It seems a certainty now, although nothing official yet.

Hopefully he will raid Chelsea and Liverpool for their best players, but pay buttons for them. He does like to try to take players with him when he moves so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Inter players linked with a move.

He gets criticized for defensive tactics, but his teams have quality attackers too. Don't give anything away, beat them with quality when you have the ball.

Gerrard hasn;t played well all season, in some cases very badly, always looks injured and easily marked out of games.

If he stays at Liverpool , next season will be the same , new challenge needed

LOL, well I'm glad that Jose is in Madrid and isn't gonna replace Rafa if he goes. That's would have been a disaster if it had happened.

Who do you think will take over, Jelly?

To tell you the truth, I just don't know. Depends how much we are willing to spend. It might be King Kenny. All I want is a manager that brings back nice attacking football. The Rafa and Houllier years were horrible to watch.

I know it's not official yet, but if he does go I'm surprised it's took them this long to try and do something. I thought it would be right after the season has ended. Maybe once Rafa heard how much transfer money he's gonna get he started whinging and the Yanks decided this is a good time to try and negotiate a departure. Apparently he's been offered 3 mil, but his contract is for 16. I suspect there will be some haggling over price.

The club really is in limbo because the Yanks are trying to sell. Would any current reputable manager want to take over knowing the financial constraints and the fact the club is up for sale? I know as a United fan I should be enjoying the turmoil, but as with the Glazers at United it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It's not good for English football.

Well, it's official now.

I wonder who the Yanks will go after. Will Torres and Stevie Me stay? Mascherano? How does Reina feel after he's just signed a new contract?

Torres and Gerrard could well be going, both have refused to comment about the future, until after the World Cup. It's also a chance to higher their price if cup goes well. As Lampard isn't allowed to leave, Gerrard could be going to Madrid. Torres has been mentioned for Chelsea. Who knows?

Blackpool??? I would like him to stay, but understand him leaving. We could get big cash before he gets too old. Liverpool is a huge mess. I honestly believe it will take a while for this team to get it's confidence back and break out of Rafa's negative football. I believe there might be lean years to come. They gave up under Benitez. As far as Torres goes, he is brilliant but is crocked too much. He might go too unless the supporting cast improves.

Reina has just signed a big contract and likes it here. Of the three I would like him to stay the most. Arguably the best keeper in the Prem. Saved his team's asses many times this year.

He would be but he's a bit too injury prone imo.

Er No. Not many in the Prem better than him. He make s the odd mistake for sure but look at the back four he had in front of him. They were crap for the most part This year he was awesome, can't stop beach balls though.

I'd say Reina is one of the best in the Prem. All keepers make mistakes. Long gone are the days when England had the best keepers. Now all the best goalkeepers are foreigners.
