I adore Tori. Was listening to her before I ever discovered NIN. Granted, saw some NIN on MTV back then when I was into her, but it never really caught my interest. Except Closer, I mean really, back then ANYONE would have been caught unawares when hearing "I Wana F...(bleep) You Like An Animal" in a song.

And, ya, I had the copper red hair, always loved redheads. Ever since Tawny Kitaen back in the day. Especially in Witchboard.

I still wonder WHAT REALLY happened between those two. He claims nada, they were just pals, but Tori really makes it obvious it was much more than that in her music. So does Courtney Love....and those two are SOOOOO unalike. (Tori and Love).

I can sing that *whole* record by heart, it's part of my soundtrack for growing up...

...but I'm not really a fan, since I don't like anything she did since. It embarasses me a bit to say it, but sometimes I just can't understand her poetry. It's super frustrating, since I feel I'm either too stupid or I'm overthinking it, and I end up not enjoying the music. Also, subsequent records became more and more obviously esoteric -- I know my histories well enough, and don't need it to be snuck into the music I listen to as well. (well, the word "snuck" is an understatement LOL)

Use to love Tori also, but I think all the botox screwed her writing ability. I'd liked her best when she was an un-brushed redhead, fucking the piano bench, spitting drunk stories into the mic between excellent song performances.
