What are you laughing at, Mickey? If it wasn't for him and his circus like acrobatic abilities Manchester United would have been relegated from the Premier League.
Re: ***OFFICIAL*** 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP thread
Right, and they deserved better in the second round against Bulgaria in USA, and Germany in France (our stupid DT tried to defend one goal the entire second half). México seemed fine in the win against Italy the other day, I hope they can be consistent.Ugmo wrote:Doesn't Mexico get past the first round every single goddamn time? I know I should cheer against them as a USA fan, but honestly, I always cheer for the other CONCACAF teams.AcillateM wrote:vanny wrote:Well i'm rooting for Mexico, but what the hell we all know they won't make it past the first round and if they do they'll most likely face Argentina and get eliminated
You should see every Mexican i know lose their shit when you tell them they won't get past the first round.....then you should see them get really personal every time i tell them U.S.A will be the one eliminating them.
Will be very important to win South Africa, México have undoubtedly a better team but, the crowd, the pression to play the opener game, will make it difficult.

I love how the media is trying to build hype for this in the USA, good for them...overall its on the fans radar just above the WNBA
i hope a small country take's the World cup, always cool to see that it means something to them

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

That's not true at all. MLS might be just a blip on the radar, but the national team gets good ratings during big tournaments. And 55,000 people attended the sendoff against Turkey, which was just a glorified friendly.LAglamrocker wrote:I love how the media is trying to build hype for this in the USA, good for them...overall its on the fans radar just above the WNBA
The final game in 2006 got a higher rating than the NBA finals that year, and was just short of the NCAA final game and the World Series:

Yeah, but don't try presenting facts to the anti-soccer US crowd, they don't want to know! They're the same lot that think Obama is a communist. They like Nascar and stuff like that.Ugmo wrote:That's not true at all. MLS might be just a blip on the radar, but the national team gets good ratings during big tournaments. Re: ***OFFICIAL*** 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP thread
i've got brazil over spain in the final.
and i think the u.s.a is gonna kick the shit out of england saturday.
i don't know why. england is pretty good even without peter beardsley and kevin hector.
more canadians play soccer than hockey.
k.w.
but we kinda suck at soccer

Both teams were shaky. Nice goal from SA. I hope France- Uruguay will be more interesting.

I would love to see the french lose that match. An inspired Uruguay, a ghost penalty, I don't care. As long as they lose.Hellsinkey wrote:Both teams were shaky. Nice goal from SA. I hope France- Uruguay will be more interesting.

Definitely will be rooting for USA and Argentina. Argentinian fans are obnoxious but not as obnoxious as the Brazilians. Talking to Brazilians is so annoying, either they win the World Cup or they're bitching that the team was paid off to lose.

I didn't bother watching that one but from reports of others, it seems that watching paint dry would've been far more enjoyable. 1st game jitters and all that.Hellsinkey wrote:I hope France- Uruguay will be more interesting.

I hope you guys win, Mickey. I mean, don't get me wrong, you really fucked us over back in '66 and made Eusébio cry, and I hate you queers for that, but I'll still be rooting for England.MickeyG wrote:Didn't see any of todays shite, but I will be in front of the box watching England-USA tomorrow.

Yanks can play their Baseball and their "football" but kicking a real football is still a mystery to them.
They think football is for fags for crying out loud. How bad would it be if they would defeat us in our sport? I hope you understand the responsibility you're carrying here.
Beat them. For Europe.

We already did beat you in your sport, or have you forgotten 2002?mullet_head wrote:Yanks can play their Baseball and their "football" but kicking a real football is still a mystery to them.

I don't remember much between 2001 and 2005, but who directed that movie?Ugmo wrote:We already did beat you in your sport, or have you forgotten 2002?mullet_head wrote:Yanks can play their Baseball and their "football" but kicking a real football is still a mystery to them.

Only interesting thing was that sub from Uruguay getting sent off after two cards in ten minutes. I hope today's games are better, they should be.Supersonic wrote:I didn't bother watching that one but from reports of others, it seems that watching paint dry would've been far more enjoyable. 1st game jitters and all that.Hellsinkey wrote:I hope France- Uruguay will be more interesting.
Re: ***OFFICIAL*** 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP thread
Well, knowing England we will fuck it up. Since Rio got injured and ousted as captain, and that tosser Stevie Me got promoted, I won't be as disappointed as I would have been if England suck badly this World Cup.mullet_head wrote:

Watching Korea right now. Greece are performing as well as their economy at the moment. Korea should be a couple in front, not just one.

Re: ***OFFICIAL*** 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP thread
Nonsense. You guys are gonna colonize that pitch, and everytime you score a goal you'll go up to your yank co-workers and give them the finger. "Hey losers, suck on that, bitches". They'll be devastated.
Re: ***OFFICIAL*** 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP thread
Yeah, I'll be sure to do that.
Nice goal by Park Ji Sung. Pity he's not that good for United.

Nigeria is awful. How Argentina isn't up by 6 is beyond me.

Second half and both sides could have had a few. The Argies should be out of sight though. Messi's quality, but just can't score.
