It's not the refs that beat the Boston Celtics, but the Boston Celtics beat themselves by not executing good offense when it mattered the most.

The Lakers delivered, they are deserving of the title.

Still, I'm a Boston fan! 8)

I had the TV on mute the last minute but I kept glancing over to watch the end. However, I noticed two blatant fouls on the Celtics with about thirty seconds left that would have clinched the win for them if they had been called. But suddenly I see Kobe at the free throw line. I didn't see any fouls on the Lakers at that time. What did I miss?

A lot of open shots being missed by the Celtics, and poor execution on the offensive end.

Unbelievable series, it really delivered. It will definitely go down as one of the most entertaining series of all time.

And like I said, Lakers definitely deserved to win.

Something really needs to be done about the officiating though. I'd say the same thing if the Celtics had won. Both teams got screwed over. i think it's time something gets done because it's bullshit.

Chicago radio reporting LeBronze is deeply petrified to leave the comfort of the shitty East and play for any Western NBA teams, but that's no real surprise to anyone in LA because LeBronze is a fucking pussy.

Oh fuck, that's not news.

So the Celtics has never lost a Game 7 EVER, never lost when up 3-2 and the team in Game 7 that led after the 1st quarter, had won every other fucking game 7 ever.

The Lakers are the greatest franchise ever because of their incredible collection of trademark stars.

1. LOS ANGELES LAKERS: 78.71 POINTS PER SEASON (1947-2009)
Wins: 2,970
Playoff wins: 397
Series wins: 102
Titles: 15
All-Stars: 125
Best player: Magic Johnson
Best coach: Phil Jackson
Best team: 1971-72 (69-13, won NBA title)
Intangibles: +150. Endless stream of superstars -- on the court and in the seats.

Magic. Kareem. The Logo. Kobe. Shaq. When it comes to superstars, the Lakers are so far out in front of everybody else it's not even funny -- their all-time starting five would crush any other team's; in fact, it might be better than that of the rest of the league's put together. So star-studded is their legacy that I left Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and George Mikan off my five-man team that opened this paragraph, also neglecting the likes of James Worthy, Bob McAdoo and Gail Goodrich.

And those big names won, too. Although the Celtics have more championships, the Lakers have more of everything else -- wins, playoff wins, playoff series wins and conference titles. About the only thing that hurts L.A. in the all-time rankings is the penalty for relocating from Minnesota to Los Angeles in the 1950s.

The story begins with the Mikan years up north, where he led Minneapolis to five championships in six seasons in the formative years of the NBA. As the league's first dominant big man, he established something of a tradition.

FRANCHISE HISTORY

* Los Angeles Lakers (1960-Present)
* Minneapolis Lakers (1948-60)

Since then, the Lakers have almost always had at least one monstrous big man -- Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Pau Gasol -- and one electrifying perimeter star to go with him (Magic, Jerry West, Baylor, Kobe).

About the only thing the Lakers haven't been able to do is best the Celtics head-to-head. In 11 meetings against Boston in the Finals, L.A. has prevailed just twice -- both coming with Magic and Kareem's teams under Pat Riley in the 1980s. In that regard, Baylor's Minneapolis team got the ball rolling in 1958-59 in the team's last season before heading west, and in the '60s, Chamberlain and West were foiled by the Celtics five times.

Ultimately, those Lakers broke through with a 69-13 season in 1971-72 that featured a 33-game winning streak -- still a record for North American pro team sports -- to win the team's first title in L.A.

After a brief lull in the late '70s, they would get five more rings when Magic arrived to join forces with Kareem. Although there was one more painful loss to Boston interposed -- a seven-game defeat in 1984 -- L.A. avenged it by becoming the first team in nearly two decades to repeat as champs, winning in 1987 and 1988. A hamstring injury to Magic Johnson in the Finals the next year derailed the Lakers' quest for a three-peat, but they would get one a decade and a half later after Phil Jackson came to Tinseltown to guide Shaq and Kobe.

That team provided plenty of last-second excitement -- most notably the alley-oop from Kobe to Shaq that cemented a Game 7 conference finals comeback win over Portland in 2000 -- and produced one of the most dominant playoff runs in history with a 15-1 romp through the field in 2001.

Amazingly, the franchise has missed the playoffs only five times in its 61 years -- for some perspective, the Bobcats have needed just five years to match L.A.'s total. The Lakers, who have played in six Finals in the past decade, are now only 1 title behind the hated Celtics after winning the 2010 Finals against the said wimpy team.

I would like to specifically CONGRATULATE RON fucking ARTEST on HIS FIRST NBA CHAMPIONSHIP, HIS FIRST RING AND HIS FIRST YEAR BEING A HARDCORE LAKE SHOW DEFENSIVE MOTHER FUCKING MONSTER!!!!

His post Finals interviews were all hilarious and truthfully I gave him shit all year long because I expect fucking amazing from the LAKE SHOW.... and RON, you were fucking amazing at times!

I'm so fucking happy for the Lakers, and so so so fucking happy for RON ARTEST.

His 2010 exit interview isn't hilarious, but it's fucking LAKE SHOW CLASSIC!!

Ron Artest saved his best games for when L.A. needed them most in the 2010 playoffs, putting up 20-5-5 while limiting Paul Pierce in the clinching Game 7 of the Finals, scoring 25 points in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals and tipping in the game winner of Game 5 against Phoenix, not to mention defending the opponent’s best offensive threat throughout.

He averaged 11.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals in the regular season, and 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals in a postseason in which his primary responsibility was on D.

Below are the highlights of his exit interview:

- Artest opened his session by discussing his experience at CNN (while raising money for the oil spill). He was offered congratulations from Alyssa Milano, which to him was crazy. “I grew up (watching) her on “Who’s The Boss!” Artest explained that he has had a terrific time since winning his first ring, and couldn’t be more appreciative of those that helped him get it, and cheered him on.

- (On seeing how happy his teammates were for him): “It felt good because they were all pulling for me. I don’t know why I (put so much pressure on myself). I was playing with pressure the whole year. I wasn’t afraid to attack it or fail. I would just go back in the gym and get better. Playing the right way was the hardest thing for me. Playing how Phil Jackson wanted me to play. Not negative clashing, but our styles clashed … and that was good because we were trying to work towards the same goal.

- (On his meeting with Phil Jackson and Mitch Kupchak): “Just ways to get better. Just gotta come back ready. I’m not playing for a contract. I’m playing to improve. I want to improve until I can’t improve no more, and I’ve been doing that for the last couple of years. I haven’t been able to show that in my last two years.” Artest was referring to his focused role on the Lakers, with defense the top priority, and how he came off the bench in Houston willingly during a contract year, hurting his numbers and perhaps his contract.

- Artest said he was ultimately happy with his role because it helped the team win.

- (On his transformation from a few years back): “Oh man. It’s amazing. Just like Game 7 … it was just like this big storm, and I was probably the most relaxed (despite) having never been to the Finals.” Artest said that he used to be in the center of the storm when everything was all negative - some of it was his fault, some not, he explained - but that he stayed the same person throughout. He feels like it’s turned around because he’s been true to himself.

- Artest reflected on how the brawl in Detroit hurt his game: “I had a perfect game, off the dribble right, off the dribble left, spin moves. (After getting suspended) I put on some weight, didn’t quite feel comfortable the next year. Then in Sacramento … etc … I just didn’t have the same confidence again. My confidence now, after Game 7, is through the roof. But that doesn’t mean I have to shine. I’ll just be ready to help (next season). In Game 6 I found myself again and it carried over to Game 7.

- Ron on Phil: “I hope he comes back. His whole philosophy is team. I was getting better at the end. I had a great last week (in the triangle).” Artest added that he’s going to use the summer to get more comfortable with the offense.

- (On the defensive focus, and wearing out the man he’s guarding): “I didn’t give in this time. I played defense for the entire playoffs and did put an imprint on the game. They said they wanted some defense and I think I brought it. I can see it but I already know it’s going to happen. If you only have one day in between, I can wear you out. Especially if I start attacking you at the offensive end.

- (On Derek Fisher): “He’s unbelievable, I don’t care what anybody says. He’s a great leader. He’s going to play big when it counts. He becomes the second best player in the league when it counts.”

- (On what he learned about Kobe after a season of playing with him): “He reminds me of myself. Every team I was on I was always the hardest worker … I didn’t know what to expect from Kobe. I saw for myself he’s the hardest worker. He’s the franchise. He would practice every day if he could, but with injuries he couldn’t. When he was out there, he was the hardest worker, defensively and offensively. And getting to the gym at six in the morning. I’m like, yeah, that’s who I want to lead me. I don’t like to be lead by non-leaders. I’m not going to let you lead me (otherwise). I don’t have a problem saying, ‘Your franchise player sucks.’ I felt more than honored to have Kobe lead me.”

One of my friends is fucking with me.

In the mailbox there's this envelope to me "From: Kobe"; I open it up and it has this picture of him with his arms out and a knee up like he's singing the last note of a Broadway show right? Then it says "I have single-handedly won the NBA finals and I feel: FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS! As a token of my appreciation for your continued support, enclosed is this Mario Chalmers basketball card where he has a hitler mustache for some reason. Love, Kobe Bryant" The Kobe Bryant signature is in hot pink and has a heart in it. And inside there is a Mario Chalmers card where he has a hitler mustache...lol.

ALL THANKS TO THIS CHUBBY IDIOT:

Image

There's no way you can re-sign a GM when...

The team's record since he took over is 86-160.

He helped orchestrate one of the most lopsided deals in NBA history by sending Pau Gasol to the Lakers, helping LA to win back-to-back titles.

He rafted Hasheem Thabeet 2nd overall last season only to watch ROY and Memphis alum, Tyreke Evans go 4th to the Kings.

Wait...what? He just got re-signed you say?

Ah, well good luck Memphis. Moving on...
