Re: Matt Leinert sucks
I thought Bruce had good command of the huddle and played with a lot of heart last season when he was starter. He reminds me of a sort of poor man's Garcia, good arm strength and pretty mobile in the pocket.

Agreed, but in Tampa Bay, St. Louis, and Cleveland he stunk it up. A couple of wins in Oakland a career does not make.

is he that jaded or is the guy not very talented?ParaDime77 wrote:Seriously, this guy has no interest in playing football, more or less being the starter for the Cardinals. Typical jaded USC fuck-head. Anybody else see the Cards going around 4-12 this season??
here is just another prime example of a "College" quarterback that has no business
being drafted #1 and be given millions of dollars.
much like JaMarcus Russell, Leinart did not posses the skills to be a top flight NFL qb.

The only thing Leinart has in common with Russell is a shitty work ethic. He has the skills to be an effective NFL QB. He just hasn't demonstrated the discipline. He reminds me more of a David Carr. A million dollar arm and a 10 cent head.Machado wrote:

Be interesting to see if he can salvage his career. People wonder why so many NFL greats are either late draft picks or are from a relatively unknown college. It's a no brainer, those QB's, for the most part, have a greater appreciation for the opportunity than those who sign a $100 million contract before they ever show up for training camp. Think about how many QB's that are drafted in the top 10 that fade away. Now look at the rest of the starters in the league and see where they were drafted or where they went to school.bane wrote:The only thing Leinart has in common with Russell is a shitty work ethic. Good point. I think that is very much the case with Leinart. Everything probably came easy to him his whole life, until the NFL. The guy has the physical skills. He doesn't appear to have the desire. Be interesting to see if a change of scenery will wake him up.Tymaster wrote:Be interesting to see if he can salvage his career. Re: Matt Leinert sucks
Every once in a great while a chance of scenery results in a resurrection, but that's usual matched by a burning desire. Vinny Testaverde eventually became a Pro Bowler and play off winner. He was well into his 30's though. He then settled into the Yoda like back up role and never once bitched about it. Class guy. Be interesting to see how Houston plays out for this kid. IMHO he needs to be seated behind a Peyton Manning or a Tom Brady and learn his craft, but hell, he obviously didn't learn anything from Warner...

Re: Matt Leinert sucks
I think he needs to go play ball and take his lumps with a coach that believes in him. Kubiak is a good QB coach, but I don't think Leinart will stick in Houston. I think it's one and done. He wants a chance to start and unless Schaub gets hurt, that ain't gonna happen. He could learn a thing or two while he's there, but I'd look for him to be elsewhere next year.

Re: Matt Leinert sucks
The biggest problem he is gonna face is that no contender would ever give him a shot at starting. So, he'll go to some horrendous team, start, and further the ruination of his team. IMHO the best thing he can do is prove a worthy back up to a proven starter, and do well when called upon. He's already wealthier than anyone on sludge can ever imagine. I seriously doubt he has enough desire to be tried and true NFL QB.bane wrote:I think he needs to go play ball and take his lumps with a coach that believes in him. Re: Matt Leinert sucks
As long as Leinart is 3rd QB, he will be getting paid only $23,125 per game. That, is a huge paycut from 6million. What a fucking DOOSH.

I have no pity for anyone who gets $23,125 per week to hold a clip board.ParaDime77 wrote:As long as Leinart is 3rd QB, he will be getting paid only $23,125 per game. That, is a huge paycut from 6million. What a fucking DOOSH.

Look for this or something similiar within the next 3 yrs.
Unless he did not invest his millions wisely, the guy might end up working as an assistant coach at USC.

Re: Matt Leinert sucks
Leinhart's backup in college has had a better pro career to date. Think about that. On draft day if someone told you that Cassel would be a more effective NFL QB than Leinhart you would have thought they were nuts. Leinhart is Jeff Spicoli with a strong arm.bane wrote: Good point.
