It looks like the deal to Nets is a done deal, he just needs to accept the extension.
I dont know what the guy is thinking. It just confirms to me that CA is a moron and a loser. I can understand wanting to go back to east coast (he's an eastcoast guy), but Denver made him the #1 guy. Personally I am not a big fan of his- yes, he scored points but rarely played defense, and was a punk many times on the court.
Denver will make out pretty good in the deal- Derrick Favors (#3 pic), Kirolenki (spelling Utah Jazz forward), and draft picks.
Jersey would have to give up Devin Harris. They are worried because they wont have a point guard. What the hell is Jordan Farmar? I never cared for Farmar, out of the whole season he would have a good month maybe month and a half, and then would disappear. When he left the Lakers & they picked up Stevie Blake, I was very happy.
What do you think of this trade?

Re: Carmelo Anthony
The trade gives Prohkorhov (sp) a big name to sell tickets behind for the Nets before the move to Brooklyn in 3 years. Melo will score 30 a night while having a bunch of stiffs feed him the ball while the team wins 28 games in a strong Eastern Conference. Face facts, Carmelo is playing for fame and fortune only, a move like this for him is moving light years away from a ring.
I think Denver will make out just fine on the deal. Favors will have enough veteran support, and experienced coach and will not have to shoulder the load like some high draft picks have to.
The odd variable in this trade is shipping Devin Harris to Charlotte. I that move alone really strengthens a team that is on the verge of doing something.

Re: Carmelo Anthony
The only way this deal works out is if it's a prelude to Chris Paul going to the Nets next year. Otherwise it's going to be just Anthony, Lopez, and a weak supporting cast and they'll end up getting pounded harder than P13's ass at a Bert Miracle's concert.
Re: Carmelo Anthony
Harris goes to Charlotte and Boris Diaw goes to Utah, who then ships Kirlenko to Denver. Utah saves a boatload in money, and he is in the last year of a very expensive contract with Denver.ParaDime77 wrote:The trade gives Prohkorhov (sp) a big name to sell tickets behind for the Nets before the move to Brooklyn in 3 years. Denver is like New Orleans a few years ago. On the cusp or one of the western conference's powerhouses, ultimately to fail and become a lower teir playoff contender. Denver has a bunch of tatt'd punks on their team, including C Anthony.

Yeahbuddy, that's a good question and I don't know. Kinda what Lickety said, if this is it then it's ridiculous BUT if they have a plan going then it could work out great in a few years. I guess I can't comment until I see what they have in mind.
