So I got a hold of NFL/NCAA cards this week. I'm sure most of you know how they work. The odds on this batch are pretty good:
4 Teams = 12 Points
5 Teams = 16 Points
6 Teams = 28 Points
7 Teams = 50 Points
8 Teams = 80 Points
9 Teams = 120 Points
10 Teams = 200 Points
9 of 10 = 25 Points
Ties = Loss
Minimum $10 processing fee to play, so 4 Teams correct means 120 Points.
I never touch the NCAA games as the lines are way too big and those games are unpredictable. But the NFL games look pretty good this week. Three in particular stand out:
New England (+3) at San Diego
NY Giants (+3) at Dallas
Pittsburgh at Miami (+3)
NE hasn't been great on the road recently but they did blow out Miami a few weeks ago. SD is usually good at home, but they are banged up and might be without Gates. And NE has pretty much owned SD over the past 5 or 6 seasons. I like the Patriots getting 3 points.
The Giants are starting to play well and Dallas is falling apart. They had a must-win last week and choked. Wade Phillips has lost the team and might not last the season. The Giants getting 3 points looks good.
Pittsburgh is for real and now has their QB back. Miami is soft and has problems with their special teams. Giving 3 points on the road isn't too much. I'm taking the Steelers giving 3 points.
So that means I need to take 1 more game out of these choices:
Washington (+3) at Chicago
Cleveland (+14) at New Orleans
Buffalo (+14) at Baltimore
San Francisco at Carolina (+3)
St Louis (+3) at Tampa
Arizona (+4) at Seattle
Minnesota (+3) at Green Bay
I won't touch a 14 point line in an NFL game. So that means I've got to pick one from Wash vs Chi, SF vs Car, StL vs TB, AZ vs Sea, or Minn vs GB. I'm leaning towards taking either the 49'ers on the road and giving up 3 points because even though they are bad the Panthers suck worse or taking the Packers at home giving 3 to the Vikes because GB is just a better all around team.
Thoughts?

Re: For Entertainment Purposes Only - NFL cards
I "play" those cards often. NFL is much easier to call than NCAA (except I will say the smaller conferences like the MAC and WAC, the handicappers are usually spot on with those spreads). I always come up one game short though. Someone usually kills me with regard to the spread. Over the years I have had several winning cards though. Monoply money, of course. No gambling at the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks my friend!
Of the games you listed, I'm taking Seattle over Arizona. The Cardinals are a shell of their old self. Rookie QB winning against the SB champs was a fluke. That's the game I'm choosing on this weeks spot card.
