I'm THE Chicago fan on the board. The Patriots did nothing wrong tonight. Everything that happened to the Bears they brought on themselves. They played like they were readying themselves for the gay pride parade tomorrow. They don't have an ounce of pride in any of their bodies. Brady's the man. The Bears suck. Yeah, a lot of those scores came after turnovers or other miscues and New England pretty much backed off and just tried to kill the clock after halftime and only put up another 3 points. Only idiots like pinhead13 who didn't watch the game will come in here and say that they ran up the score.johnk5150 wrote:I'm THE Chicago fan on the board. The Patriots did nothing wrong tonight. I wasn't expecting an outcome like that. I figured the game might get a little sloppy because of the weather but that we'd still see something like 21-17.
I haven't seen many Bears games this season. Is their defense mainly the type to pressure up front and then try to get get big plays off tipped balls & throws under pressure or do they usually do more things defensively? It looked to me as if when they were able to create pressure up front and force quick throws that they kept their D-backs too far down field and kept getting burned on short 5-7 yard completions that turned into 8-12 yard gains. Is that normal for them? Give up the little stuff and wait to make a big play?

Speaking of poorly officiated games. Did anyone see the Jax vs Oak game? Those officials fucked over the Jags several times, particularly on their defensive TD that was called back. I guess Polian figured if his Colts couldn't win their way into the playoffs he could always get his officials to screw the Jags out of it.
How much says Jacksonville gets totally fucked by the officiating crew next week in Indy?

How sweet was that collapse footage of the Metrodome?
I'd guess that place is done for the season. Love that it gives Favre yet another day to rest for his inevitable comeback.
Hasn't the roof collapsed there once before?
Makeup game being played tomorrow night in Detroit with free tickets for everyone. Nice. Only free tv in NY and Min markets.

That's their M.O. That style doesn't mean shit if your front 4 isn't putting pressure on the QB. It doesn't work against a hall of famer like Brady. He looked like he was throwing in a dome last night. The Bears safeties were so far from the line of scrimmage last night they could have been grand marshalls of the south side st pats parade.SkyDog112046 wrote: I haven't seen many Bears games this season. Re: NFL 2010 Thread
I'd like to add that Brady seeing the Bears heads were already in the locker room by throwing that TD to Branch as time ran out in the half shows why he's the man and the Bears are a bunch of entitled, whiny pretenders. No pride yesterday. Horrible, horrible showing from a team that has a lot of growing up to do.

I was very surprised at the dismantling yesterday. I'm a Pats fan and always have been, but I have a fondness for Da Bears. Walter is my alltime favorite player and I considered myself a Bears fan up until he retired (1985 was a tough year for me watching the Super Bowl). Loved the Singletary years.
I am hoping Urlacher and Peppers put a hurting on Dirty Sanchez in a couple weeks.

I'm hearing that outside of Chicago, CBS opted to not even show the 2nd half. Another Jet collapse? A few weeks ago they were 9-2 and the darlings of the NFL. Now they are 9-4 with the Steelers and Bears coming up. I can't see them beating either one of those teams on the road they way Sanchez is playing right now, and Ryan said he was considering benching him. They pulled out some close games against bad opponents but haven't done anything against the 3 potential playoff teams that they have faced. They are looking more like 10-6 at this point.

Couldn't tell you what was done in Ohio. The Columbus CBS affiliate (logically) opted to air the Bengals/Steelers game over the Browns/Bills game, so I had to step out to the local sports pub to watch it. Surprisingly, despite playing every game at 1 pm est this year, this was only the 3rd time WBNS has chosen the Bungals over the Browns.WTF wrote:The whole game was broadcast in Connecticut.johnk5150 wrote: I'm hearing that outside of Chicago, CBS opted to not even show the 2nd half. The Bears are better than the Jets from what I have seen. NY has to go play Pittsburgh first before they go to Chicago. And signs are starting to show that there are issues in the Jets' locker room. It wouldn't be surprising to see NY completely collapse at this point. The Bears will be fine and most likely win their division. Every team has one bad game a year, it's just how they respond to it that counts.johnk5150 wrote:The Jets saving grace is the Bears suck at home. Something else about the Jets that is telling. After Alosi tripped the Dolphins player the team looked liked they were trying to cover for him. And while anyone accused of doing something likes that deserves a chance to prove their innocence, this guy was caught on tape and admitted what he did. And here it is after 2:00pm the next day and there is no word regarding disciplinary action by the Jets. Ryan should have canned him as soon as he saw the tape.

Despite the major transformation of this team the last 5 weeks, Dallas came up just short. Another loss by 3 points. DAMN!!

Garrett has still done a nice make over, and I think Kitna has been a cagey veteran. I'm not so sure that Romo is that much of an improvement to be honest.Machado wrote:Dallas losing last night was tough.

Notice how Kitna does not throw the deep ball.
If Romo were playing last night, the passing game would have included attempts of more than 20 yards.
Kitna is a veteran/back up QB for reasons that are legit.
He has his strengths and weaknesses.
The makeover Garrett has done is remarkable.
I'm not sure if he deserve the head coaching job in 2011, but so far the guy is making a very strong case for himself.

My final sentence was less of an endorsement of Kitna has it was me still having trouble with Romo being the QB of "America's Team." Don Meredith, Roger Staubach, Danny White, Troy Aikman. All legends. Tony Romo doesn't belong with that group.Machado wrote:Stop it. Kitna is doing his best, but he's a backup. A good backup can come in and keep things moving for a few games if needed. He can't be expected to step in and play well for 10 games when your QB goes out with a season-ender.
Kitna's a good backup, but it must be frustrating for Cowboys fans now that the team is playing so much better. If Romo were still around they might have won all of their Garret Games so far.
