B. Never
But it's ok because he is entertaining and the league needs some coaches that are colorful. He certainly didn't shy away after the game and admitted that the Jets got their asses kicked. I prefer the Belichick style far more than Ryan's style but there is room for both of them.

Re: Rex Ryan
he doesn't bother me that much, he believes in his team.
At least he's not a cheater, and I'm guessing if he lost the super bowl, he would shake the other coaches hand.
So hey, 6 of one, half a dozen........

All successful coaches become unlikeable at some point to the people that they are consistently beating, so I can see where opposing coaches and fans may be sick of losing to Belichick. And some media people may not care for him because he doesn't give colorful quotes. But most football people appreciate him for being one of the greatest coaches of the modern era as well as being a football historian who has great reverence for the game. When everything is said and done he will be included in the group of great coaches such as Halas, Lombardi, Landry, Shula, and Walsh.NeverSurrender wrote:he's a great coach, even if he did cheat, but he's not very likable.

well, he beat my team twice, but that has nothing to do with me thinking he's not likable.SkyDog112046 wrote:All successful coaches become unlikeable at some point to the people that they are consistently beating, so I can see where opposing coaches and fans may be sick of losing to Belichick. None of those guys you listed were unlikable in my opinion.
Tom landry is the biggest class act to ever grace the sideline.

Re: Rex Ryan
I'm pretty sure Lombardi was hated, especially by his players. And I can totally understand the hate for Belichick, but what is really odd is that you never hear any of his players (or former players) talking shit about Bill.NeverSurrender wrote:

Jerry Sloan doesn't fit this category. And he's a damn good coach that just happened to get shafted with.....Ostertag.SkyDog112046 wrote:All successful coaches become unlikeable at some point to the people that they are consistently beating, so I can see where opposing coaches and fans may be sick of losing to Belichick.NeverSurrender wrote:he's a great coach, even if he did cheat, but he's not very likable.

Landry never did. I'm not knocking the Hoodies' skills. The guy's a genious, and I'd gladly take him coaching my team, but he's still a dick.

How can you leave out Gibbs, cocknocker? Greatest coach in NFL history.SkyDog112046 wrote:All successful coaches become unlikeable at some point to the people that they are consistently beating, so I can see where opposing coaches and fans may be sick of losing to Belichick. Show me someone else who has won three Super Bowls with three different (average) quarterbacks.
Bellicheck wouldn't even be in the conversation if he'd never had Tom Brady, just like Walsh without Montana.
Re: Rex Ryan
But Belichick had the foresight to pick Brady up in the draft when no one else did. The guy (Brady) never hinted at this kind of talent in college. He's a hard worker, smart and has a great coach. Maybe Belichick wouldn't be where he is without Brady, but I doubt Brady would be as great as he is if he went to another team.Crazy Levi wrote: How can you leave out Gibbs, cocknocker? "Great coaches SUCH AS..." I didn't name all the great coaches, I just named some examples. I could have added more such as Brown and Noll, long with Gibbs, but I didn't want to sit here and make up a top 10 list.Crazy Levi wrote:How can you leave out Gibbs, cocknocker? Re: Rex Ryan
I agree with Levi on this one, Gibbs belongs on the list, Shit that dude is one of the smartest fuckers in all of sports history, 3 rings in the NFL, And three cups in NASCAR as an Owner. Yeah being an owner is different from being a coach but He still made the call on bringing Tony Stewart into NASCAR from the indy league and that resulted in 2 of his titles.Crazy Levi wrote:How can you leave out Gibbs, cocknocker? Don't knw about Lombardi, he died before i was born. Nothing I have read makes me think he was not liked.WTF wrote:I'm pretty sure Lombardi was hated, especially by his players. Re: Rex Ryan
Yeah I've never heard anything negative about Lombardi, I do think Shula is the best coach in history though, most say Lombardi but Shula has what 327 wins not counting his playoff numbers?? a coach would have to win 10 plus for 30 years to catch him, aint fucking happening any time soon, not to mention he does have 2 titles, 3 other SB appearences, only undefeated team in history and beat Lombardi head to head each time they matched up. Next I'd say Walsh.

I like Landry. When you watch the geame today, it's his game. 4-3, shotgun all the time, guys moving around. He was the first guy to use a different rb on passing downs only.

He's got balls to pretty much own up to that being his wife.
