Black Swan - weird, creepy, very good movie with some great acting by Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Barbara Hershey. 7/10

Crazy Heart - 5/10
I didn't really get the hype for this movie. Sure, The Dude put on a great performance, but the story didn't go anywhere. And the love story with him and Maggie Gyllenhal (sp?) was brutal!

Once Upon A Time In America - 7/10.
Good flick, way too long and dragged in spots.

Catfish- 10/10. One of the most beautiful, intriguing and hard to watch movies I've ever seen. There's some controversies as to whether or not it's actually a real documentary, but either way, it doesn't matter. The story is unbelievable and keeps you guessing. I recommend this one to everyone. It really blew me away.

Social Network. 2/10. Boring boring movie. Lacked drama, lacked interesting characters lacked a interesting plot. Facebook sucks and so does the movie on it.

Not a bad "Mission Impossible" / "Bourne" rip-off, considering I had very low expectations.

Moon with Sam Rockwell. 10. Damn near watched it again immediately after finishing and the only time I ever did that was with Reservoir Dogs.

The Tourist - 7.5/10. I was fairly entertained throughout this. God damn, that Angelina is a saucy bitch
Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire - 8/10. Saw this for the first time along with the first three Harry Potter flicks. My girlfriend is a huge fan and got me to sit down and watch them, and I must say, good flicks overall. I liked this one in particular because of the darkness to it.

Couple of good ones.
In the Heat of the Night- 9/10. Awesome performances from the two male leads. Great story, too.
Back to the Future- 9/10 as well. Enjoyed it way more than I figured I would; recognized several lines that have been quoted/parodied in other things as well. Really enjoyable all the way around.

True Grit: 2.5 stars
Decent movie, but I really wasn't blown away by it. I think the girl will probably nab a Supporting Actress Oscar, even though she really should be up for lead actress, since she was esentially the star of the film.
Cool as Ice: 1 star
Saw this on cable yesterday... always wanted to see it to just rag on it and it didn't dissapoint. Today I found myself uttering 'yup-yup' and the timeless 'leave the zero get with the hero.' line.
Walk Hard: 5 stars
I bought this on DVD while Christmas shopping... I've already seen it before, but to me its still the last really, really funny movie I've seen probably since Naked Gun.

Shenanigans. "He Got Game" is the best track Chuck D has done in a grip. That being said, I could have done without Flav's jabbering at the end.MurrayFiend wrote: He Got Game- 7/10. Shit was OK. Public Enemy's soundtrack shit sounded bad, though (judging only by the bits that played in the film).

Ed Burns' Nice Guy Johnny. About a kid who's a low level sports talk radio guy that's engaged and considering a career change to make everyone else happy. It's cliched, but decent.

Absolutely. I've seen it quite a few times and it's still just as hilarious as the first time. Vastly underrated comedy.HMJ wrote:Yes sir, one of the best comedies I have ever seen. I'll be quoting it til I die.Hurls34 wrote: Walk Hard: 5 stars

Maybe that one's worth a rewatch. It's been awhile; I remember liking it just fine, but I'm more of a John C. Reilly fan now.

I think the different (for PE) production sound threw me off at first. Been listening to some of the soundtrack over the last couple of days, and yeah, Chuck sounds nice and a lot of the songs are quite decent.Rainbow Bright wrote:Shenanigans. 127 Hours - 7/10. 'S alright I s'pose. Towards the end, he'd 'hallucinate' quite a lot which kinda bugged me - but all in all, not too bad.
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Inception 8/10 - looked great on blu ray, excellent film.
The Town 6/10 - apart from Affleck's horrible accent it was a good flick.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw

HOLY FUCK.
If you haven't seen this masterpiece, do yourself a favor.
A small town wants to close down it's 150 year old military school, which trains kids as young as ten to be unquestioning sociopathic jarheads. But they're not giving up the school without a fight.
Excellent movie. I usually hate Tom Cruise, but he is brilliant here.
