I posted some figures earlier in this thread and it around 8000 a couple of months ago.

The Isles aren't much better. Hell, they don't even sell out when they play the Rangers at home anymore.

The Rangers will bring some people in. The Thrashers still have a shot at the playoffs, should be some people at these games. Gotta love Atlanta.

That is a shame. Went to my first Isles game in 1975, and the last was in 1983. I keep telling myself I'll go see them when they play the Hurricanes, but I'm too lazy to make the 3 hour drive. :|

Not really. I moved to NC in the Summer or '83, and the NHL had just signed that stupid tv deal with SportsChannel America. So no hockey on tv at all for a half dozen or so years. I was a diehard NHL fan growing up, but when you go without something for that long, you find something to take its' place.

I've actually been there to see the Isles play, but I live 10 hours from the arena. NW Florida.

Try being an ISLES fan. We are now on the 5th string goalie. They flew a goalie in from Odessa of the CHL, in an emergency tonight.

Someone's going to have to explain to me why they traded Roloson, given DiPietro's injury history, and then tried to claim Nabokov on waivers. They should have just kept Roloson. It's not like they got a whole lot for him.

Karma is kicking them in the ass for claiming Nabokov, which was a cheap move.

Their bad luck started way before claiming that POS.
That trade didn't bother me. Roli is 41 and our season was fucked already. Ty Wishart actually had 2 assists his first game so it remains to be seen what we got for him.
I absolutely love Kevin Poulin. I think he is going to be a great NHL goalie.

Yeah OK i just saw it on ESPN because the guy's trial was today apparently. He got 6 hours of community service and is never allowed to go to another Leafs game. Is that really a punishment though

Hey - they got Lupul today. The masses in Toronto are probably hailing Brian Burke as a genius again and planning next year's cup route.

Nothing like trading your 2nd biggest bargaining chip for a guy who's had three concussions, been chased out of three cities, but has "loads of upside", and a prospect who's NCAA coach says "maybe, he can make it in the NHL".

Nabokov did nothing wrong. He's a veteran guy who signed a short time, short money contract to play on a cup contender, NOT to join a team that's a doormat and plays in the worst facilities in the league. It was bush league for the Isles to claim him (they're season WAS toast) and they're going to get paid back in spades. The NHLPA is a close knit fraternity. Garth Snow should have thought about how this will affect his ability to sign free agents and re-up current players when the time comes. BAD MOVE.

I could have understood it if a contending team in the West claimed him, to keep him away from Detroit, not the Isles though.

Dude, they can't sign FAs now with that building they play in. The waiver wire is Garth's only hope. Just like we picked up Grabner tjis year and look how that worked out. You may not agree with it, but GS is just playing by the rules.

True that. At least Snow doesn't give away all-stars for nothing. Among Milbury's greatest hits:

- trading Luongo, and throwing in Jokinen, to acquire the pick that allowed him to select DiPietro. Hey Mikey: how would have keeping Luongo and Jokinen, and drafting Dany Heatly have worked?

- trading Chara for Yashin and signing Yashin to a contract that's still counting against the cap, even though he's out of the NHL.

This game is evidently taking place in 1978!

14 goals scored against two of the leagues best goalies.

Big Bad Bruins gooning it up, but Flying Frenchmen won't back down.

Idiot Bruins fans chanting USA, USA, when the Habs have more US born players than the B's.

Bruins won battle, Habs winning war so far this year. B's won't beat Habs in the playoffs.

Yashin was awful . Typical underachieving Russian with no heart.
I think the Isles got Mark Parrish in the Luongo deal too. Not that that makes it better of course.

Awesome game.

The USA chant was embarrassing.

The Frenchmen were flying to the ice after being punched.

Subban is a pussy. He hides behind Gill or the ref.

3/8 in Montreal.

Habs held their own. Pouliot and Moen beat Krejci and Ference. Campbell killed Pyatt and ? killed Spacek, but those were likely outcomes. Price would have murdered Thomas, he's a big strong kid. He showed class not coming out swinging after Thomas said "I don't want to get DiPietro'ed".

9/10 if the B's play like that, and the Habs go 40% on the PP, the Habs win. Yesterday was an anomaly because the Gomez line stunk and Price lost his focus when the shenanigans started. I thoroughly enjoyed the game though. It's been a long time since a regular season NHL game got my blood pumping to the point where I couldn't sleep all night.

The open line shows in Montreal are going nuts today. By the sounds of it we should be acquiring Chris Neil and Zenon Kanopka any minute.

Regarding Subban - the guy's going to be a star, and with Markov out he's the Habs #1 or 1A defenceman. He can't fight those guys, just like Lucic couldn't fight Laraque a couple of years ago.
