Re: The official NHL thread
The Habs' James Wisniewski got hit in the face with a puck yesterday. Check the pic out on this site:

Ouch, not only is that gonna leave a mark; I'm sure there are broken bones that will be discovered after the swelling goes down.
Hockey players are TOUGH.

Re: The official NHL thread
I like what he has brought so far. He's averaged almost a point a game, which is what we needed with Markov out for the year, but, as advertised, he makes a lot of mistakes in his own zone.NeverSurrender wrote:That is nasty. Do you like Wiz, wolf?
I'd like the Habs to get him locked in for a few years, but I'm sure somebody is going to overpay him on the open market. At 3 to 3.5 million he's OK. If someone's going to pay him 5 million to score 50 points, but be a minus player, I'd look elsewhere.

It says in that link you posted that he probably won't play in the Heritage Classic. Ibet if it's his choice he plays. Give me the full face shield and let's go.

After 12 seasons in blue and white, the Maple Leafs have traded the veteran defenceman to the Boston Bruins in exchange for "PROSPECT" centre Joe Colborne, the Bruins' first round pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick.

Re: The official NHL thread
The Bruins are a cup contender now. Chiarelli's done a good job and the Savard injury might be the best thing that ever happened to the organization. The combo of Chara, and Kaberle to move the puck up the ice, is deadly. Couple that with the goaltending, the kids on D, and the balanced attack up front, and you have a winning recipe.
Now, my only hope as a Habs fan, is the Bruins implode like they did when the Habs upset them in 2002. That was a great Bruins squad that fell apart in the playoffs.

Re: The official NHL thread
You are forgetting the braindead idiot on the bench who could fuck up a wet dream and the complete asshole for an owner that likes to take shots at his own players and is capable of demoralizing the lockerroom for the remainder of the season. They could add Orr & Bourque in their primes along Neely & Esposito in their's to this roster and those two ass-clowns would still find a way to fuck everything up.WOLF wrote:The Bruins are a cup contender now. Re: The official NHL thread
why does the bruins coach get so much flack? they're 1 point out of second in the conference.
kinda surprised the bruins let stewart go but i guess that's just making room for kaberle.

Nice 'prospect' the Leafs traded for the KW. I noticed you ignored that.

Re: The official NHL thread
Big trade overnight:
Blues get: Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk
Avs get: Erik Johnson, Jay McClement, and a 1st rounder
I think the Avs may have given up way too early on Stewart, who's recovering from injury. Johnson has never lived up to the hype, and has been injured a lot, McClement is a tough guy, nothing more, and a mid-round 1st round pick is iffy. Advantage to the Blue notes in this one.
Man, fuck the deadline, it seems it IS the deadline.

The team doesn't show up to play every night and takes way too many periods off. I've gone to games where the Bruins players were skating more leisurely than toddlers on the frog pond in Boston common.Kid-Wicked wrote:why does the bruins coach get so much flack? they're 1 point out of second in the conference.
That and the fact that his team had a 3-0 series lead last spring and choked it away. If it was my team I would have fired his sorry ass while he was walking from the bench to the locker room.

i guess you didn't see the part where the bruins also traded wheeler and stewart to atlanta to make room for kaberle. the leafs get a first round pick if the bruins can sign kaberle in the off season.NeverSurrender wrote:Nice 'prospect' the Leafs traded for the KW. I noticed you ignored that.

No, I didn't miss that, just like I didn't miss the fact you called me numnuts for thinking they would trade for a prospect. Pretty funny when I read they did.Kid-Wicked wrote:i guess you didn't see the part where the bruins also traded wheeler and stewart to atlanta to make room for kaberle. the leafs get a first round pick if the bruins can sign kaberle in the off season.NeverSurrender wrote:Nice 'prospect' the Leafs traded for the KW. Re: The official NHL thread
Adam McQuaid really stepped up to the plate this year and made Stuart obsolete. I think Stuart was a healthy scratch in 5 of the past 6 games, so he was definitely disposable.Kid-Wicked wrote:

and what happened?boston needs to free up aboot 2 million in order to get kaberle.
that being said, they still could make this a trade for a prospect but that means boston would have to trade wheeler or a defenceman to another team

Re: The official NHL thread
I'd make a pretty ugly chick. The part you're forgetting is I never called you wrong, but I was numnuts (spelled wrong) for thinking they would want a prospect. Rebuilding teams want prospects, I never said how they would get that prospect.
I'm really just angry you didn't thank me for posting that link for you.

Re: The official NHL thread
He was out with an injury for awhile, and McQuaid stepped up and started playing really good hockey. When Stuart came back, he started a couple games but wasn't very productive, so he was a healthy scratch for awhile leading up to the trade.Kid-Wicked wrote:i didn't know that about stuart. i thought he was top 4 to start the season.LetUsPrey wrote:Adam McQuaid really stepped up to the plate this year and made Stuart obsolete. Blues deal Eric Brewer to Tampa Bay for prospect Brock Beukeboom and a 3rd.
