Dunno where this came from because that game is on March 1st. If Chelsea had beaten Everton then their 5th round FA cup tie would have been March 1st.Hellsinkey wrote:

No away goals at Marseille, so must win at home. Again midfield does nothing, even Gibson played. Smalling played well again.

A few nice saves from Van Der Sar at Wigan, he'll be missed.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Yeah, Wigan should really have been in front at half time. More control second half from United though, and they could have had more than 4. Midfield was shaky first half. Fletcher still isn't good enough, even out on the right.

Nice for Birmingham after a long time. Shocking from Arse.

Interesting day at the defence.
Soft penalty, Vidic's second wasn't really a yellow, but I admit Chevski's first was Evra's fault. He even pointed at Luiz but didn't watch him.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Didn't see it but the ref is taking a lot of shit over at Redcafe. I'm sick of blaming refs though, I'd rather look at our own shortcomings.

Worst was Vidic losing his cool, he'll miss the Liverpool game. He saved two goals yesterday. But again they stopped playing at 1-0, it's not enough at Chelsea. The midfield is pathetic at times.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Shite performance, shite result again. Disgusting tackle by Carragher. But nothing will be said because it wasn't Wayne Rooney elbowing somebody.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
That was shite, I admit it. I was watching it with my friend with mostly dickish Liverpool supporters. Couldn't happen in Britain.
Just goes to to show how thin the squad is. Pathetic midfield again and the defence...
Suarez was great in the first, Kuyt should have not tapped it in, it wasn't his really. It would have gone in anyway. I was expecting a draw at most, this was coming. I'm jealous about the Spurs midfield. This should be a warning sign. Fergie, buy some midfielders!

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
I'm sick of reading United websites where they defend Fergies squad decisions, and his tactics. Today should have been 5 in midfield. Squad is paper thin. Also, he motivates the team. No motivation today.

Surprised they resigned Carrick. He is crap. I think Fergie's losing it.MickeyG wrote:I'm sick of reading United websites where they defend Fergies squad decisions, and his tactics. Today should have been 5 in midfield. Squad is paper thin. Also, he motivates the team. No motivation today.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Agreed. I want him to retire this summer and for either Mourinho or Van Gaal to take over. Won't happen though. Fergie's too stubborn. Midfield's not good enough, and his motivation skills have dropped. The hairdryer doesn't work anymore.

Nani's out too for a month. Considering the midfield and the moment, it's just depressing.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
That could be season over. And you have to expect injuries. Weak squad is gonna cost United. Ultimately, it's the managers responsibility.

It isn't enough for a season to have one good eleven with a few good substitutes.

I like the Champions League so far. If the last dagos are kicked out next week it's a party. Even Donetsk can have it then.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Back to normal for Liverpool it seems. Lose to West Ham, raise their game for United, back down to earth against Braga.

We could have done with Suarez who is cup tied and Gerrard today. Carroll looked good when he came on. Holy shit that boy can jump. Passing was terrible. Aside-Hope the Hammers stay up.MickeyG wrote:Back to normal for Liverpool it seems. Lose to West Ham, raise their game for United, back down to earth against Braga.

BBC have Premier League predictor up.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... efault.stm
I've got Arsenal to win the league
Wigan, West Ham and West Brom to go down
Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City for the Champions League and Totttenham for the Uefa Cup.

United's away form is woeful so I'd make Arsenal favourites too. United will probably have to get something at the Emirates and beat Chelsea at home. West Ham will be tough to beat at home too. Injuries, even though everyone has them, have taken their toll on a thin squad.

Seven defenders start with Gibson the only midfielder. Pathetic situation. Van Der Sar was fantastic, really saved the game.

If Arse don't win the league, think Wenger will get the boot?
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
To be fair, United could have had more too. Arsenal were woeful today, they let O'Shea and Gibson boss the midfield for long spells. Smalling and Vidic were excellent, and as you say, Van der Sar made a few really good saves. I thought Valencia was good when he came on. Rooney played well too. Fabio and Rafael ran themselves ragged. Commitment was there today, unlike last week at Anfield.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
No. I think that would be suicide by the Arsenal board. Arsenal made a narrow loss for the last 6 months. That proves if they had gone out and spent big as their fans have wanted they would be more in the hole. Wenger has done a good job of keeping Arsenal in the top 4. Maybe he has a blind spot when it comes to keepers, and I thought his defence was dodgy today, but overall he's done decent.jellyheadrobertson wrote:If Arse don't win the league, think Wenger will get the boot?
