There was a time, and Wolf I'm sure you can attest to this, that when he WANTED to play,he was untouchable. An amazing talent with hands, speed and an amazing shot.Sadly, his laissez-faire attitude, towards not just hockey, but life, meant this would only happen for perhaps 20-30 games a season. The last two years in Ottawa makes me believe he's lost even that. Brining in Gonchar was supposed to re-energize him, when in fact it just made Gonchar as passive as he was.

I'll be curious to see how they play against Vancouver on Saturday. At least Wheeler the invisible man in the playoffs is gone. We'll see on Peverly and Kelly, but good depth.

Kaberle is expected to re-sign with the B's in the 3-4 year range for around $20 million. He's represented by Bobby Orr's agency and needless to say they have a great relationship with the B's. Kaberle also wants to play in Boston. Ryder's contract falling off after the season will pretty much cover it.
how much is chara gonna get? he made 7.5 this season. are they gonna tie up 13 million on 2 defencemen?
Yeah, a little south of $12 million for both of them. Chara just signed a 7 year extension.

I love watching this kid play hockey. The Bergeron/Recchi/Marchand line is always fun to watch.
Marchand is Briere Jr. Bergeron fucking rules. That line isn't changing until the season ends.

I think Seguin is going to be a difference maker down the stretch. He's starting to gain confidence and he is the most skilled player on the team. Julien better not fuck him up by playing Paille or something.

Get the duck boats gassed up.

Of course Julien will fuck it up. He is an incompetent ass clown. There are more competent hockey minds coaching Pee Wee teams at any rink you drive by in the north east.

Here is how Claude fucks up Seguin:
Some other team's goon is pounding Seguin up and down the ice while the whole time the fuckhead will refuse to let one of his tough guy's step up and take care of the goon because he is afraid of giving up a penalty. Seguin either gets injured or benched while becoming demoralized from his nightly beatings at which point Jacobs steps in and starts slamming Seguin in the press.

Julien's teams play soft
They frequently take shifts off
They take entire periods off
First home game back after a road trip is a bye game for the visitors
Julien can't develop young players, won't define their roll or their timeline for progress, and typically comes at odds with them.

Montoya just got a nice surprise from Giroux and Van Riemsdyk!

The d corps is awful. 3 of those guys are AHL players. Poor Montoya. Meanwhile Brovoski is on his head.

Oh I jinxed him. Matt Martin?

The Flyers are like freight train. They just keep coming. I wish Wishart and Katic were in Bridgeport learning instead of trying to win in the NHL.

They're claiming the only players that might get traded are Martinek, Schremp and Konopka.

I don't know about the RFAs except Grabner, and they claim they will resign him.
I thought you couldn't sign RFAs until the season was over. You should know that, shouldn't you?

Maybe it's how long they played. I asked about Grabner re-signing and was told we had to wait until the end of the season to re-sign him. Maybe because he's a rookie.
I don't know about those rules. The NHL has some weird rules when it comes to player movement. Also, I just looked it up and the Isles don't have 18 players to sign.
Bailey and Okposo should both be re-signed.
Radek Martinek (Guy most likely to be traded)
Blake Comeau (Should stay)
Trevor Gillies- (Goon)
Rob Schremp,(Placed on waivers )
Michael Grabner (He ain't going anywhere)
Zenon Konopka (Hope he stays )
Nate Lawson (Placed on waivers)
Bruno Gervais (BYE)
Jack Hillen (Hope he stays)

i do know Martinek and Konopka are UFAs, and if Snow trades or lets Z leave, there might be a riot. You may have seen a list from December or these RFAs are somewhere else in the system.
Besides Okposo, Grabner and MAYBE Bailey, why would they be in a hurry to sign any of those guys? Z should be re-signed, but he ain't Ryan Kesler.

Awesome. :D

Flyers are a freight train, they don't need anything.

Dustin Penner to LA for first rounder, Teubert and another pick.

That's a lot to pay for an underachieving, overpaid, often out-of-shape, potential superstar. The Kings are rich in prospects and young players, so I suppose they can afford what they gave up, but I feel it's too much.

The Caps did well in acquiring Jason Arnott and Dennis Wideman, I thought.

All in all, a pretty boring deadline day, but it seems the prices were too high and a lot of the best deals were to be had earlier in the month.

The pick the Kings gave up, should be somewhere in he 20s so we will see.

Didn't see the Arnott deal until you posted it. Did they announce that after the deadline had come and gone?

The NHL is late in processing trade paperwork. I wouldn't be shocked to see deals announced up until 5:00 PM or so.

OK.

On the Isles sight it read:

"If you want to watch live trade talk and you live in the US turn it to the NHL network. If you live in Canada, and want to watch it, turn your tv on."

Most Edmontonians hated Penner until maybe last year or so. He finally started to get his shit together and he's gone now. Oh well.

I like the Oilers rebuild philosophy but it's so deep that this town isn't gonna see them be contenders for years. That's a shame, but I understand it.

The Flyers, on the other hand, are going to win the Stanley Cup this year.
