KOBE BRYANT IS THE NEW MICHAEL JORDAN, LIKE IT OR NOT
Kobe Bryant: Underestimated, Overrated and Still Arguably the NBA's Top Player
LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 25: Kobe Bryant #24 of the Los Angeles Lakers waits on the bench during pregame introductions for the game with the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on February 25, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers won 108-95.
Kobe Bryant is aging, he's probably lost a step, he's not as explosive and he likely won't get you 81 points in a game.
Those are just some of the terms that have been used to describe Bryant's demise.
With those sentiments permeating through the NBA landscape, it's easy to assume that Bryant no longer resides among the NBA's top players—except his numbers and his impact suggests the opposite.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose are considered the NBA's top young players and front-runners in the MVP discussion, but does Bryant no longer reside among that group of elite players?
What has either of the above-mentioned players done that would lead a person to assume they have surpassed Bryant as a player this season?
Recently, there have been numerous articles that have trumpheted Bryant's decline and there was even one that espoused the opinion that a recent Lakers road win over Oklahoma City had nothing to do with Bryant.
The writer failed to mention that Bryant scored 17 points, collected seven assists and held Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook to four points after halftime, but such is the life when you're the player everyone loves to hate.
Criticism of Bryant and his game has to be the longest running commentary in the NBA today, which is a little strange considering how Bryant continues to excel despite the negativity.
This was supposed to be the year that Bryant's game would visibly decline, but instead he remains one of the top five scorers in the NBA, with more than 25 points per game, and his Lakers have a very good chance of returning to the NBA Finals for a fourth consecutive year.
But it seems that the more successful Bryant is, the more he is demonized and what other current player has enjoyed as much individual and team success as Bryant?
Five NBA championships, over 27,000 career points scored and two Finals' MVP awards later and there are still those who choose to dismiss those accomplishments and linger on the poorer aspects of Bryant's game.
And to be fair, there are areas of the game that Bryant still struggles with.
Bryant still has a tendency to rush his shot, sometimes he over-dribbles and there are still instances where his trust in his teammates can be questioned.
But in the big picture, does any of that really matter?
At the end of the day, will Bryant's flaws outweigh his achievements past and present?
It's doubtful and furthermore, it seems that Bryant draws motivation from all the criticism, whether real or imagined.
Bryant may never be remembered as the greatest to ever play the game, but he is arguably the greatest of this generation and at 32 years of age, there are still chapters left to be written in his legacy.
Bryant is already the leading scorer in the history of one of the NBA's most prestigious franchises and when he ends his career, he will likely reside among the NBA's top five scorers of all time.
Everything Bryant has accomplished in his career would definitely place him among the NBA's legendary players, but contrary to some opinion, Bryant is still relevant in the discussion of today's top players as well.
For some, Bryant will always be one of the most overrated players in the game, regardless of what he accomplishes, but fortunately the truth found in his continued success is much greater than the negative perceptions.

Make with the rings you fucking assholes.

How many of those NBA top players are so fucking protected and pathetically coddles 'as stars' that it's mind blowing ridiculous.
Durant can score, yes... but the main reason that dumb as dirt, deer in the headlights is the scoring leader is he is sent to the fucking free throw line more than EVERYONE else in the NBA.
Over 10 times -- every fucking game.
The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of the time he isn't even fucking fouled (touched) by anyone.
"I uhhh, only actually thought of covering him"
FOUL!
"I waved my hand by his face and the wind nearly knocked the pussy over"
FOUL!
"They tossed Durant the ball in the corner for a 3 and I looked over at him standing right in my missed defensive rotation spot right as he elevated and shot. But I was still 10 feet away from him!!!"
FOUL!
The past couple games KOBE has been hacked to fucking fuck and defensively held fucking repeatedly by the laughably shitty Clippers and the nearly shitty 'NBA Poster Boys OKC Thunder' and KOBE shot how many free throws?
ZERO vs the Thunder and only a few vs the Clippers (with no attempts 'graciously awarded' til the middle of the 3rd).
NBA refs suck fucking ass.

But whether you happen to fucking like it or fucking not NBA refs / the NBA as a whole / and every-fucking-body else, come June there will be another FUCKING LAKE SHOW 3 PEAT AND ABSOLUTELY NONE OF YOU FUCKING IDIOTS CAN STOP IT!!

The 2nd seed for the Lake show is all they need. The Lakers don't need a homecourt game 7 vs the Spurs, it wont go that far.
If anything the series will favor the Lakers. Lakers have the advantage in that series having games 3,4,6 at home.

Aren't the NBA Finals the only series that is 2-3-2?
2-3-2 without LAKE SHOW home court advantage means 3 straight at the Staples.
No NBA team (east or west) wants that, not even the shit eating, money hiding, always complaining like bitches yet playing basketball like linebackers Beany Puketown Celtics.
or is that Pukey Beantown Celtics?

Let's see......
We never seen Micheal Jordan cry.
Micheal Jordan never lost in the Finals.
Micheal Jordan didn't have to have the referees fix a series ( 2002 ).
NBA's top player? Without a doubt. The next Jordan? Nope. There will never be another Jordan.

Fucking idiots really worried about the color of their SOX?
Your sport's more fake than wrestling.
At least in hoops career .200%ers (8 complete and totally fucking failed attempts out of every 10 tries) players aren't flooding the Hall of Fame.

Major league baseball is a massive field of overpaid under-trained ridiculous fucking cunts masquerading as athletes.
"I actually hit the ball, wobbled around a few bases and now I'm really tired!!"
Try repeatedly running and jumping for 48 fucking minutes... not once.

Kobe the new Jordan? Don't put Kobe down like that, Jordan's a piece of cat shit.
I know I'm a broken record but the truth can not be ignored. Jordan was not and is not the greatest player of all time. That's Wilt, Jordan never played at Kansas.
Let's cool it on the Durant bashing. I'd take a bullet for Durantula.

Re: KOBE BRYANT IS THE NEW MICHAEL JORDAN, LIKE IT OR NOT
Spurs swear Lakers still best. (Honest)
March 5, 2011 · 3:44PM
SAN ANTONIO – They are 51-11, several lengths ahead of the field in the race for best record in the league, are coming off a 125-95 torching of the heralded Miami Heat that could have had them arrested for arson and have already beaten Kobe & Co. twice already this season.
But you still won’t get the Spurs to say that anyone but the Lakers is the best team league. Especially with the two-time defending champions up next for a Sunday afternoon date at the AT&T Center.
“They have a great team, I must say,” said Antonio McDyess. “Every team we face is competition for us. You’ve got Dallas in the West, New Orleans, other teams. But they (Lakers) are the best team until you take their title away. I think we always look at it that way. When we step on the court with the guys who have won two championships in a row, until you take that title away, they are the best team.”
The last time the two teams met on Feb. 3, McDyess’s tip-in at the buzzer of a missed Tim Duncan jumper gave the Spurs an 89-88 win over L.A. at Staples Center.
“That’s by far one of the most memorable tip-ins I’ve ever had,” he said. “Especially playing against the Lakers, I’ve never had that opportunity to tip in a ball to win such a huge game for us. It’s definitely gonna be a memory.
“Right now, it’s pretty much a blur. When I tipped it in I didn’t really think that I really did it, that it counted. So I kinda hesitated to even celebrate for a second. But they didn’t blow a whistle and I remember going toward the center court and having the guys coming towards me. That was a great feeling at that point.”
It was not only a rare shot, but the play elicited the quite rare occasion of a smile from coach Gregg Popovich.
“I only saw it on replay,” McDyess said. “I never saw it in the moment. In the replay I saw him smile like ‘We did it.’ It was kinda good to see that.
“(He’s usually) mellow, angry-faced. From everyone it was a good feeling. Seeing Pop smiling was even better.”
But now Pop is back into his scowling, not-give-an-inch game mode and will barely acknowledge that his own club has reached 50 wins for an NBA-record-tying 12th season in a row while the Lakers have struggled often. Don’t try telling him that anyone but the Lakers is sitting atop the mountain.
“Sure. Sure. Yep. They’re defending NBA champions,” Popovich said. “They’ve won two in a row. It seems perfectly logical to me that at times their focus might not be 100 percent. But they’re a group with fantastic corporate knowledge. They know how difficult it is. Because they know that they also know what it will take down the stretch here and come playoff time.
“So I think they deserve the respect for that and until proven otherwise. That will convince me, when somebody beats them four out of seven (in the playoffs). Then I’ll believe they’re not the best team in the West.”

The Spurs 5 starters threw in 29 whole points in the entire game today.
Kobe threw in 26 in 31:18 minutes
There is such fucking worry going on in San Antonio.
Enjoy that best record, ask the CAVS how that worked out for them a few seasons.
YOU FUCKERS ARE SUCH FUCKING MEAT COME THE PLAYOFFS.
Tim Duncan with 2 points.
He really has no fucking business being mentioned in any sentence containing the words JERRY, FUCKING or WEST.
