Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I've got to replace my acoustic rig. I'm using a boss pedal preamp through an old rack BBE 386 right now and something in the chain is going out. I've had the gain surge out of the blue three or four times in the past couple of gigs. I've decided to scrap all of it and start over because the boss isn't all that great and the 386 is ancient. I think I'm gonna get a BBE Acoustimax and run a Fishman Aura through the effects loop. Anybody have any experience with a Fishman Aura? I'm interested in seeing if I can download multiple intruments into one IE: dobro, mandolin, jumbos, dreadnaughts etc. Can't find any specific info on that online. The literature says they're programmable, but I don't know if it's just guitars or if the library carries other instruments as well.

There's an Orange 4x12 up the street.
I talked him down to about $500. But I didn't buy it.
Consensus please.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Totally gay. You can get a 4x12 for peanuts nowadays. Don't pay a premium because it is an Orange and has hipster cred.
Shit, my currrent main cab has 4x12" EV12Ls in it, and I only paid $375.

Just picked up a Peavey VTM 60 head. Ugly as hell, but sounds fantastic.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
VTM's are some baaad muddas....it's on the short list.
Gutted the USA-made Peavey Predator, went with a full hot-mod set of the Fender SCN's.....new Oak Grigsby switch(the stocker was not even CLOSE to working with this new set-up...damn you, Hartley!), 3 CTS short-shafts(500K's), a Sprague OD .022(hey, it's the value Fender calls for in the wiring diagram...), a Switchcraft jack and a new 3-ply pickguard(w/b/w) to replace the stocker(looked......well, cheap. There's a reason Hartley was able to make'em and sell'em so damn cheap)
Took a cheap-sounding guitar(but well-made in terms of the body/neck) and made it a damned TONE MACHINE.....this makes up for the whole head-up-my-ass episode several pages back with the trem-block.
I've heard a few guys bitch about the Noiseless series from Fender, saying it has no "tone"....they must be stoned to the hilt, 'cuz I'm finding ALL KINDS of TONE from these things.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
It all depends on WHAT tone you're looking for. You can get the perfect tone for a bluesman and a metalhead won't like it.PAF Pro wrote:VTM's are some baaad muddas....it's on the short list.

Jesus dude... got enough delay action going on?
What's holding that thing together, two DD-20's?
p.s., I fucking love my eXotic pedals.
Let's see, I'm building an 18 watt Marsha, picked up 9 Rat pedals and have
have built another run of humbucking pickups since my last visit,
got a funky-ass Inchun Les Paul copy, modded pretty much every
pedal I own, ... Oh yeah, bought a mandolin too.
