Timberwolves will surprise in 2011-2012
Call me crazy, but my hometown Timberpuppies are just a few pieces away from shedding the title of worst team in the NBA. K-Love is legit, Michael Beasley can score, Darko is a servicable big man, and Luke Ridenour is a good 6 or 7 off the bench. All they need is a little luck come lottery time, and to use their cap space wisely. Bring in some veteran leadership to help close out games and you may see a 30 win team next year.
I will say that Wes Johnson needs to develop faster than he has.
Go Wolves!!

It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

David Stern finally going to contract a couple of teams? I'd start in Minneapolis too.
He's like the Liberace of bass & pot.

Unless they are going to at least try to play .500 ball all season, Minnesota should just book concerts in their mostly empty (unless the LAKE SHOW is in town) home arena and let the puppies play bouncers.
Beasley is already a great bouncer... although not such a great basketball player when he's been running his mouth, or even afterwards when he was SHUT THE FUCK UP...

They should draft two more point guards. What a fucked up draft they threw together two years ago.Heenan Snuka wrote:the key is Wayne Ellington

The answer to this is: No
Rambis trying to play the role of one Phil Jackson hasn't worked thus far. Grant it, the team is very young, but Kurt's laidback style isn't the right fit for this team. They have showed some promise here and there this season, but other than Love and maybe Beasley, there isn't much there.
The point guard situation is beyond laughable, when Ridnour is your 1 guard and is a full step slower than any other 1 guard in the league, you have big problems. Flynn and Telfair and turnover machines and 30% shooters all day long. Wayne Ellington has shown some promise, but not enought to be a starter.
Total log jam at the small forward position and a bunch of mediocrity to go with it. Beasley turns it on and turns it off at will despite having a ton of talent and sick left hand moves.
Ricky Rubio. Averaging 6 and 4 in the Spanish League. Nuff said. His small size and poor shooting % have bust written all over him.
Barring another trade heavy offseason and a weak draft, I don't see the Wolves winning more than 20 games next season. Hopefully I'm wrong and they can turn it around.

I agree that Rambis isn't the personality fit to teach a young team how to win.ParaDime77 wrote:The answer to this is: No

Note that I said Luke was a nice 6 or 7 off the bench. The luck in the lottery might bring Irving from Duke. I do agree that PG is a major weak point.
As odd as he's been, I like Kahn for getting rid of dead weight and positioning the Wolves to at least go after what they need.
I still say they have potential.

Kevin Love wants out...
Anybody with any fucking sense would.
It's 92 today in So Cal, and it's 23 or less in Minnesota?

This from Ian Thompson on si.com today:
Apart from Eddy Curry ($11.6m), who was released following his midseason acquisition, no one is making more than $5m on this intriguing roster that includes Kevin Love, Michael Beasley and Wesley Johnson (with Ricky Rubio possibly on the way next season). Much criticism came with the signing of Darko Milicic, but how can he not be worth his $4.3m salary? With a couple of wise moves this team could move onto a promising track.Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/w ... z1IxplSjoV

anyone who thinks Love and Blake G are not going to be Lakers are crazy
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
Re: Timberwolves will surprise in 2011-2012
I'm a Laker fan, but Rambis is a terrible head coach. He has no business coaching a young team. Ridnour was offered a contract by Lakers to be the back up. That's your #1 guard? When Lakers offered contract, Ridnour didnt act fast enough, Lakers pulled offer, and gave it to Blake. So what that Beasley scores 20 points a game. He plays no defense, and is a complete knucklehead. He is one of those types of players that as long as he is scoring his points, he could careless about winning. Thats why Miami gave him away for a pack of chewing gum. Screw this team!LillianRoxyFA wrote:I agree that Rambis isn't the personality fit to teach a young team how to win.ParaDime77 wrote:The answer to this is: No
