I'm a Dodger fan who has been to one of these games. Retard city. I love sports more than 99.5 % of the people I know, and never gotten into a fight while watching sports. It's supposed to be fun.

They were probably just Philly fans on vacation...raping, beating and pillaging.NeverSurrender wrote:"A Dodger fan beat a Giant fan into a coma last week,"

Re: The official NHL thread
It was two "fans" and they were either gang members or wanna be's. This shit's been going on at Dodger Stadium for years. A few years back there was a massive brawl at the farthest end of the left field reserve level and a bunch of dudes actually went tumbling down from the top of the stairs almost to the bottom. They landed on a bunch of people, including some kids that were shaken up pretty bab.NeverSurrender wrote:"A Dodger fan beat a Giant fan into a coma last week,"

And guess what? Not a security guard in sight. It took about ten minutes for about two of them to appear and they were useless. I sent an email to the Dodgers and they responded by sending me a voucher for some free tix. Hush money, if you ask me. It didn't make the news so they just continued on, business as usual. Part of the problem is the crooked ass McCourt family that owns them, especially Frank McCourt. If you wanna know what the McCourts are about I HIGHLY recommend reading the following article that ran in the LA Weekly last August.

Lots of talk today about the Yotes becoming the Jets again. As soon as next season. It's in the best interest of hockey, hope it happens.

Like I've said. The top Eastern seeds are none too pleased to be going against Miller, Lundqvist, and Price. All three almost pulled rabbits out of their hats in game 1. I'll settle for two of three though.

I need Chicago to quit laying down since (fingers crossed) the Kings will end up having to play Vancouver next. You're the defending champions, don't accept being swept.

Why would that surprise you? I'd be more surprised if Boston manages to win a game in this series. They are the worst coached team in the entire playoffs. They are ill-prepared, unmotivated, and soft. Neely should fire Julien's stupid ass right now and take over the bench himself.Yut343 wrote:Let's go Vancouver and Montreal!
(although I'm a little surprised that Montreal has a 2-0 lead over Boston to be honest).

I've been keeping my trap shut, and will until the series is over. I'l just say that, as a Habs fan, nobody here is getting too cocky. The Habs aren't so good that they can't fuck this up (see 1996 vs NYR), and the Bruins aren't so bad that they can't win one, get their confidence, and get back in it.SkyDog112046 wrote:Why would that surprise you? The Bell Centre is going to explode when the Habs hit the ice tonight. Thomas (I assume he's in) is going to have to be good the first 10 minutes, or the place is going to go apeshit.
Finally. Jacques Martin is getting a lot of credit as a tactician, but Kirk Muller needs to be lauded here. He's done an awesome job and it's going to hurt watching him coach the Stars, Sens, or Devils next year.

It's as good as over. 5 games max. The Bruins are bigger, stronger, and in theory tougher than Montreal. But Julien insists on trying to have them play a finesse game because he's so worried about penalties and he's playing right into their hands.WOLF wrote:I've been keeping my trap shut, and will until the series is over. I'm a Bruins fan but I hope they get embarrassed so badly that they have no choice but to fire Julien, because that's the only way it will happen with cheap-ass Jacobs not willing to pay two contracts.

The only thing I'm sad about is that the team in Winnipeg, barring some last minute legal wrangling, won't be called the Jets.
Seriously though - it's sad to see a fan base, no matter how small, lose the team they supported, but NHL hockey in Glendale was a bad move from the get go. One of the Cali teams should try and get their AHL affiliate there, that could work I suppose.

Re: The official NHL thread
Don't get me started on the Coyotes stuff. That bungle will probably hurt the chances of any of the teams who need a new building from getting one.

I'm so sorry, I can definitely relate. I went to the Thrashers/Pengs game a few weeks ago under the assumption is was going to be our last game.Bassmaster1984 wrote:Sad to say it, but this could be the last 2 games in Phoenix this week, FOREVER!!
On another note. The Blackhawks are FUCKIN UP MY BRACKET. They are outplaying Vancouver, idk what their problem is but they better fix it. And QUICK.

I really had nothing riding on the Blackhawks/Canucks 1st round matchup, except for having Higgins as my 10th round pick in our playoff hockey pool, but these two asshats have made me pray for a miraculous Chicago comeback :

Re: The official NHL thread
One other thing that pisses me off:
The Ducks have a deal where if they score 5 or more goals, you can go to Hooters the next day and get free wings.
No such luck with the Kings when they score 5 goals.
