That was embarrassing for a game of that magnitude. Even the Habs got screwed on the first goal.LetUsPrey wrote:Good job Canadiens, you beat us 5 on 3.
I'm not one to blame a loss on the refs, typically i'll blame it on Julien, but the refs really fucked us in the ass tonight.
Krecji and Lucic better get their heads out of their asses. Two worst players for the B's in the series.

When I saw Lee and Pollock were reffing I thought it was over for the Habs because Lee always fucks us - I guess that's just against Toronto.chungasrevenge wrote:That was embarrassing for a game of that magnitude. It all started with Pollock's way quick whistle on the Habs' "no-goal". From there you knew there was going to be an even up call. A few of the calls you need to blame the Bruins, the too many men and the high stick on Moen late in the game - you can't blatantly do that and dare the refs NOT to call it. The same thing with Lucic. You need to learn when to hit and when to lay off. However, the refs called a ticky-tack call on Kostitsyn, and then on the Bruins PP they called a phantom goalie interference call on Price. So yeah, bad, reactionary reffing.
Tonight should be great, though I still like the Bruins to win the war.
Stat you need to know:
Habs goals scored in games they've won: 7
Habs goals scored in games they've lost: 7
Bruins goals scored in games they've won: 11
Bruins goals scored in games they've lost: 2
It comes down to how Carey Price plays, as well as the D in front of him and the Canadiens' special teams.
Enjoy guys. I'm going to be a basket case all day.

Third time's the charm for the Nucks, and now the Blackhawks' reign is over.
Big save by Lulu on Sharp in OT, stupid turnover by Campoli and that's all she wrote.
Corey Crawford was huge for the Hawks - it would have been 5 or 6 to 0 if he hadn't played so well.
Hawks almost stole the series from Vancouver, who were clearly the better team this season.

I'm seeing a show tonight and won't even be able to watch game 7. This is horseshit.
To be honest, my money's on the Habs.

Re: The official NHL thread
Let's hope those refs last night lose their jobs. That was absolutely horrendous.
That non-goal that should have been I really don't blame on the ref, though. He couldn't see it from where he was and Thomas had no clue where it was so he never moved from his position of the save. I think if the ref saw him scrambling to find it, it would have been a goal. However, the non-call on the other end on Bergeron should have negated that play in the first place.
Go B's.
Win or lose, let's hope it's a well called game.

When Price (and to some extent the D) is on,Boston can't score. Bruins have lost 3 games in this series and have a total of 2 goals in those 3 loses. That's fortunate for the Habs because they've only scored 7 goals in those wins,a little over 2 goals per game. When Price plays an average game, the Habs can't muster the fire power to overcome it.In The Bruins 3 wins they've score 11 goals,an average just below 4 goals a game.Conversely, the Habs average remained unchanged(slightly over 2 goals a game).Price is the key.Lights out- they win,Average night- they lose.

I read an article quoting the mayor of Winnipeg saying the Coyotes aren't moving, so it appears the Thrashers are again the primary candidate to move to Winnipeg. It would be a lot easier for True North to give the Thrashers the Moose name than it would have been to call the former Jets anything other than the Jets again.
Either way, a southern US team moving to Canada is okay by me. Move the Panthers to Quebec City while you're at it, Radar.

I guess it's fitting that the Bruins won in overtime. The games have been really close since they woke up in game 3.
I still don't understand why Tyler Seguin is sitting on the bench while the Bruins power play is so anemic. Other than the fact that Julien likes to run goal scorers out of town.
Next up is Philly. Flyers in 6.

Awesome series. Subban and Price are studs and young. Finally the B's got a couple of bounces. Even as can be. That was a coin toss.
Subban needs to elimanate the bullshit at his age. What a fucking shot. He's going to be lethal for years to come.

B's need to batten down the hatches and try and ride the goaltending advantage. Maybe motivation will count for something. I can't make heads or tails of this team.SkyDog112046 wrote:I guess it's fitting that the Bruins won in overtime. The games have been really close since they woke up in game 3.

I'm spent. I can't believe the Habs lost 3 OT games in a row. I'm not going to sleep for days.chungasrevenge wrote:Awesome series. Subban and Price are studs and young. Finally the B's got a couple of bounces. Even as can be. That was a coin toss.

7 games, 3 in OT, 17 goals to 17 goals. These two teams could have played 100 games and won 50 each.
Congrats to the Bruins and their fans - both a resilient bunch.
And yes, it will be fun watching Price, Subban, Marchand, Lucic, etc. go at it for years to come!

he stole games 1 and 3 against chicago.Gibsonite wrote:Has Luongo ever been the difference-maker in a series,in a positive way for his team I mean?I can't remember any of his teams winning a series because he stood on his head or anything.Even last year's Olympic team won despite his gaffes, not because he played awesome in net..
the series he had against the ducks the year they won the cup was stellar.

If he lost, he can't be the difference maker. A fine goalie, imo.Kid-Wicked wrote:Gibsonite wrote:Has Luongo ever been the difference-maker in a series,in a positive way for his team I mean?I can't remember any of his teams winning a series because he stood on his head or anything.Even last year's Olympic team won despite his gaffes, not because he played awesome in net..

Why do Canadians have such a problem with teams in the US? Do you not want the game to grow?Lardbucket wrote:I read an article quoting the mayor of Winnipeg saying the Coyotes aren't moving, so it appears the Thrashers are again the primary candidate to move to Winnipeg. Re: The official NHL thread
I don't think anyone has an issue with teams in US markets where the fans show up to the games, and/or actually pay to be there. People do take issue with teams in markets that don't support the team, except for the first couple of years they are there.cc117 wrote:Why do Canadians have such a problem with teams in the US? Sell 15,000 tickets at an average of $60 a piece in Winnipeg
Sell 5,000 tickets at an average of $15 a piece in Atalanta
Choice seems obvious to me, from a business standpoint.

Too late, I took them. I have a meeting to get to. My rationale is unfortunately Pronger seems healthy, and I don't know how a team can score on Philly with all those crazy orange people screaming at them. I guess we shall watch Hartnell slowly morph into Cro Magnon man again.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Don't pick Philly, please. Thomas>Boucher,Leighton,Brobrovsky, pylon, fan picked at random.
Then again,Miller was greater as well.....
I don't think the Bruins will be outworked in front of the net/in the corners like the Sabres were, though.Going to be a crash bang series, the difference might be Briere,if he gets effectively shut down, the Bruins should prevail.

I just think it's asinine to have as many teams in Florida as there are in Quebec. You're not "growing the sport" when teams in Miami or Atlanta play in front of 6,000 people a night.

Bullshit. I'd think again if I were you. When they play their game, no one outworks The Flyers. That's The Flyers' game (twice as hard, half as smartalecjonsludge wrote:Thomas>Boucher,Leighton,Brobrovsky, pylon, fan picked at random.

Re: The official NHL thread
The Bruins barely survived an undermanned, small Montreal team. They had 0 goals on the power play the whole first round, and their first line doesn't know the playoffs have started yet - along with their prized trade deadline acquisition. Unless Thomas plays even more out of his mind than he did in the regular season, or Claude Julien finds a fix for all of the above, I don't see Boston beating Philly.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Bullshit. Montreal was a nightmare matchup for the B's all season long, plus the rivalry and craziness. They were 3-0-1 against Philly this year. I think it's going to be another long series.
