Numbers wise yes, as a player he was incredible. He set up his team to lose when he was a manager for his gambling addiction though. Still won't admit it, say's he never bet against his team. I don't believe that.

Ask his bullpen if they think he should be in the Hall. I'm sure most of them want to break his nose.

Also the Veterans Committee should have the final say. These are the guys that don't won't any of the roid monkeys in the Hall. Bonds, Arod, Manny, Clemens, Pettitte, etc. They're not getting in.

He should be in the HOF for what he did as a player. He's not a marginal guy. Rose is the all-time hits leader, he won 3 batting titles, 2 gold gloves, an MVP and ROTY, and he was also a major factor in multiple championships.

3000 hits is supposed to be an automatic induction. 27 players including Rose have done it and the other 26 are all in the HOF. Only 5 players have more than 3500: Rose, Cobb, Aaron, Musial & Speaker. That is pretty exclusive company. If you were putting together a list of the top 10 players of all time you'd start with Ruth, Mays, Williams, & DiMaggio and then start naming off some of those other four.

On merit Rose is a HOF'er. It doesn't matter what he did as a manager because we aren't talking about inducting his as a manager. He should be in.

In every MLB locker room a sign telling the players that gambling on aseball games is unforgivable. He knew the consequences. I love Pete Rose, but he lied for 20 years, only to tell the truth to sell his book.

Pete Rose doesn't deserve shit, and he's one of my favorite players.

IMO, The Baseball HOF should allow Rose into the club, but only as a player.
I would not mind having some sort of vocab/blurb near or on his plaque that refers to being a member, as a player only, as well as a clear and concise reference that Pete also gambled on the game of baseball.



Just as long as the man is in he HOF.
As a player, he had the most hits in the game.
That accomplishment is HOF worthy.

Once again, more proof that as a MLB Player, Rose was among the best=worthy of HOF.

Why not make an example out of him and make a note on his plaque that he did bet on the game as a manager.
