Why does this guy get no respect? I know Boxing is dead but Hopkins just went out and became the oldest Boxing champ in history. His resume is insane. Dude went undefeated for over a decade and defended his MW crown a record 20 consecutive times. He ruined the career of a pound for pound fighter in trinidad, he KO'd the golden boy, He's beating up on kids.
And on top of that He has the best intro in boxing with the whole executioner thing. One Bad ass mother fucker, a shame no one pays attention to boxing these day, I can definitley understand though, outside of a few fighters there isnt much to get excited about.

I was at the fight last night and had to say I was impressed. He came out and did everything he said he was going to do. Pascal is no slouch, he has tools, but Hopkins' conditioning and boxing IQ were just off the charts.
By the way - he gets no respect because he comes off as a big time a-hole. Not sure if it's his Eexecutioner persona, or the real guy behind it, but he should be more humble.
Curious to see if Hopkins will fight Chad Dawson now.
Much respect for Hopkins here. I read a lot of how badly he got fucked by promoters early in his career, maybe that's why he has a chip on gis shoulder. He has great knowledge of technique too, I've picked up a lot of tips from his interviews.
In other news, Roy Jones Jr. got brutally koed this weekend. He really needs to hang em up. My all time favorite boxer just shitting on his legacy.
He gets no respect because he is boring as hell to watch, never knocks anybody out and talks all kinds of shit about how he's going to destroy guys then comes out and puts the audience to sleep. His nickname..."The Executioner" is a joke....he hasn't had a KO in 7 years, his last 11 fights all went the distance in boring decisions. A KO percentage barely over 50%...He is a very tough, cagey fighter whose greatest asset is his conditioning. He is not a very good technical boxer and does just enough to win. He's also quite a dirty fighter at times. But I give him his props, because he gets the job done, has fought the best competition available and his winning a title at that age is very impressive. If he was to just be a humble guy, he would get a lot more respect, because he can't fight as tough as he talks.

Maybe now he dosent destroy anyone but the dude Destroyed 2 of the best fighters of his era and he was older than both, Trinidad and DLH=Destroyed, trinidad ruined as a PFP fighter because of it. Yeah He's a shit talker and a self admitted prison educated dude. IMO I think alot of the pre fight doucheyness is part of selling the fight.
