Shoulda been 2 games max. 4 games for that? It was a late hit, not a dirty hit.

Ah well, I don't really like Rome anyway. Horton and Rome out for the playoffs. Canucks win that one

Really? If I was a Canuck fan I'd be a little concerned.Rome was replacing an injured Hamhuis and was actually being paired with Bieska as the 1st shut down pair. Now he too is out and an already thinning d corps just got a lot thinner.Horton obviously is a big loss,no way to spin that.

The Canucks have Ballard who should be able to fill in with ease. He takes a few too many risks though. They also have Chris Tanev, a rookie who has the poise of a veteran. Rome out isn't going to kill them

Hamhuis being gone though is a back breaker. I have no idea what his deal is right now

A four game suspension is deserved and at least shows some justice for that incident. I haven't seen too much of Vancouver prior to this series but they really are a bunch of cheap shot artist flopping little weasels.

There are at least 3 more games remaining and Thornton will be in all of them. Even a pussy like Burroughs can't hide for 180 minutes.

And one observation. Last night's lone Vag-couver goal came against....wait for it....Boychuk.

Riddle me this,if both Ballard and Tanev are the Norris trophy winners you're making them out to be why aren't they already in the line-up? Could it possibly be that,oh,I don't know, they're not as good- nor as ready as Hamhuis and Rome ? Fuck, you Canuck fans are just as delusional as Hab/Leaf fans.

It's well understood in Vancouver that Vigneault has some bizarre man crush on Rome and despises Ballard. No one really understands it here.

Rome is not that good at all. I've wanted Ballard in the lineup over Rome all along.

Rome's best contribution right now is having taken Horton out of the series

Your pre mentioned Ballard gambles don't fly with Vigneault.I suspect he will be inserted in the line up, but be given fewer minutes than Rome got because of this. He averaged around 10 minutes a game in the SJ series(when inserted) and was actually a minus rated(-2) player. Not exactly the guy I want on the blue line with a rejuvenated and confident Boston PP. Tanev looked like a nervous school girl in the SJ series, not exactly the guy I want on the ice with a ravenous Boston Garden crowd.

Just read this interview with Kesler on the Vancouver website:

Q: What was your take on Milan Lucic and Mark Recchi taunting your teammates with gestures mimicking the Alexandre Burrows biting incident? Did that surprise you?

A: No. We know what type of team they are over there. We're going to worry about Game 4.

What kind of team is that Kesler ? Nice passive aggresive dig,but he should keep in mind the grinning retard,Max Lapierre, did the same taunt in game 2.

That's bullshit.

He shouldn't have even received the game misconduct. Horton was not paying attention to the play and waltzed right into Rome. That was his own fault. Even the Versus announcers said he wasn't pay attention to the play.

Good to see the NHL and the refs doing everything in their power to give the cup to The Bruins. Boston seems to be the league darlings in every sport. Sox, Pats, Bruins, Celts... no team in that city does anything wrong.

I think a player should be responsible for his body like he is his stick. He did something illegal, and hurt a guy bad. Chara should've been suspended earlier in the year too. They finally got one right.

I know what he means. Could be just in our heads, maybe not. No question in my mind about the Pats though, that's an obvious one.

I do know that ESPN is NESN-lite though. Fucking Beantown hacks up there in Bristol. They are on the dicks of all 4 Boston teams.

are you on crack! Every call in a Pat's game is against the Pats! Pu-leeze!
The Canucks got away with a TON of cheap shots int he first two games. Boston isn't a city of darlings, just winners, inspite of a long list of shitty calls.

It was a dirty hit. Rome was head hunting with his shoulder when the guy didn't even have the puck. Our guys is out for the season- so should Rome. Fair is fair.

Considering that I live in New England, yeah... no team in that city does anything wrong. Ever. The media was all up in arms over Burrows' "bite" and the hit on Horton. Yet, the hit Chara gave against the Canadiens earlier this year (which was not a clean hit) was swept under the table.

Same with the Patriots cheating and Ortiz being listed on the 2003 positive steroid test. If that was, say, The Giants or Jets that cheated ESPN and other sports media outlets would be demanding fines, stripped championships, suspensions, floggings, you name it. I don't even like football, so I don't care what happens. But even I know The Pats and Tom Brady are the darlings of the NFL.

The Ortiz thing was made out to be "well, he says he didn't do it so we believe him. He's a good guy who would NEVER do anything that awful." Yet, before ARod manned up and admitted he used roids the media was already all over him like he singlehandedly ruined baseball.

Remember... no one was up in arms when the Sox dropped a huge contract on Crawford and a huge extension on Gonzalez. Yanks were ruining baseball when they signed CC, AJ and Tex.

ESPN, Fox, NBC, ABC... you name it. They're all firmly nestled under the scrotum of the Boston teams. The media bias is sickening.

Tom Brady probably gets more calls than any athlete in any sport. Crosby and LeBron are up there, but not on his level.

How would I get away from it? ESPN, Fox, ABC and NBC are all national stations. The media bias is there.

Shit... watch a Sox game. The strike zone at Fenway is different from every other park, but that's a different discussion in a different thread.

Do you think if Chara was back on the Islanders he wouldn't have gotten a suspension for that hit on Pacioretty? Shit, he'd have been out for 10+ games and fined. Come on now.

Good to see another Isles fan on here, though.

Yep, but I also think that if Burrows was on the Isles he would get suspended for the bite, so what about that?

I think it's obvious Burrows bit him. However, there was no conclusive evidence because there was no proper camera angle to prove it. Ref's head was in the way.

Still wouldn't matter if he was on The Isles though. They would've found a way to suspend him.

Not my team. Only reason I'm rooting for the Canucks is because they're the lesser of two evils.

The camera angles showed no bite. NHL cannot fine or suspend anyone if they have no conclusive evidence.

Just curious what you thought of the Chara hit on Pacioretty? Pacioretty also didn't have the puck, was injured by Chara, and put out for the season (probably costing the Habs the series against Boston, as Pacioretty was the Habs best forward when he went down). One could surmise Chara was head hunting, just as people are assuming Rome was headhunting.
