Gasol or Bynum
Rumors have been floating around the Lakers getting rid of one of their big guys. Personally I think the court isnt big enough for the 2 of them playing at the same time. Think about it- when Bynum wasnt able to play full time the Lakers were in a good groove. But when he played full time, they werent as successful. Now I do not put the blame on Bynum. Gasol completely tanked in the playoffs. He is the reason they did not advance. That and a decent point guard. I would have no problem trading Gasol. There's been chatter that Minnesota is interested. Also got to remember that whenever the Lakers make a move, the nba insiders never hear about it before it happens. I do think the Lakers need to make a big move during the summer to have a chance of winning next year. And I do not mean get better bench production.

Re: Gasol or Bynum
As long as they have Odom, Gasol should be the guy that goes. He was an embarassment to the Lakers this past season. I know Bynum may have a gimpy knee and all, but at least the big man brings a physical element to the game.

Re: Gasol or Bynum
Ditch him while his trade value is good. He's one more injury away from being Greg Oden. The problem is finding a decent big guy to fill his spot.

Re: Gasol or Bynum
this past season he wasnt injured 3/5ths of the time. And the time he missed at beginning was due to an injury from previous season, and not getting it fixed as soon as that season ended. He had some dings this season, but nothing like previous seasons.demolition23 wrote:And then when Bynum's injured 3/5 of the season and they have neither of them?yeahbuddy wrote:I agree.ParaDime77 wrote:As long as they have Odom, Gasol should be the guy that goes. ^Still too much of a liability. Trade him, Steve Blake and Matt Barnes for Dwight and have him pick up a couple of more moves than he has now.

Barnes was well liked here in Orlando and Bynum played Dwight better than anyone in the league. I like this much more than losing Dwight to free agency and getting jack shit in return.Rainbow Bright wrote:^Still too much of a liability. FUCK OFF MORON, GASOL SAVED KOBE'S ASS BACK IN THE FINALS VS THE CELTS, IN FACT THE MVP SHOULD'VE GONE TO GASOL, BUT THE NBA HAD TO PERPETUATE THE MJ MYTH.ParaDime77 wrote:As long as they have Odom, Gasol should be the guy that goes. For a Lakers guy, you really don't know a fucking thing. Why would you defend this European pussy that sold the team out this past playoff run??? This isn't about what happened against the Celt's.grishnak boss wrote:FUCK OFF MORON, GASOL SAVED KOBE'S ASS BACK IN THE FINALS VS THE CELTS, IN FACT THE MVP SHOULD'VE GONE TO GASOL, BUT THE NBA HAD TO PERPETUATE THE MJ MYTH.ParaDime77 wrote:As long as they have Odom, Gasol should be the guy that goes. Fact: Jim Buss drafted Bynum, he's not going anywhere because he's Buss' personal project.

Kwame Brown and Tyson Chandler were taken before Gasol. Fucking wrong. Joe Johnson was the 10th pick of that draft. Why did Danny Ainge give up on Joe Johnson?

Re: Gasol or Bynum
The Timberwolves want Gasol to mentor fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio. Makes sense when you think about it that way. Gasol takes a lot of guff for being soft, but he can't do it all. Bynum has been a pet project of the Lakers, and they still expect him to emerge as the next Moses Malone. Not going to happen.

Re: Gasol or Bynum
Bynum is the second best center in the NBA. Pure and simple. And like it or not, he is the future of the Lakers. However, in my opinion Kobe will be around for at least another 3 years of quality play. So if they can start a youth movement now, the Lakers will never miss a beat competing for a championship. If they can trade Gasol for Kevin Love & the #2 pick, I would do it. The only issue is Minnesota would have to cough up more players to make the salaries balance out. Seriously, do you think Kobe was happy that Gasol completely tanked in the playoffs?LillianRoxyFA wrote:The Timberwolves want Gasol to mentor fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio. Re: Gasol or Bynum
Hoops world says this:
Sources say the opportunity to swap an All-Star forward for a much younger All-Star forward, the #2 pick in 2012 to either address the team's backcourt needs (or pick up an athletic kid like Derrick Williams) and filler that could include Darko Milicic to back up Andrew Bynum . . . would appeal to the Lakers even if that meant Gasol. Whether Gasol, the proven player, is a better fit than Love isn't really the debate. It's about getting younger and deeper while maintaining the opportunity to win more championships throughout the Kobe Bryant era

Hey Grishnak, if you have a second to jump off the Gasol bandwagon for a minute, let me ask you this: Why would you want to keep a guy on the team that everyone in the locker room lost respect for?? So is 2006 the year you became a Laker "fan"? Yellow font and big letters don't do shit to prove anything that you are nothing but a Gasol nutswinger. A true Laker fan wouldn't defend this worthless Spanish twat in a million years.grishnak boss wrote:WHAT DO YOU KNOW, BESIDES STALKING WOMEN ON THE INTERNET, FAG?cantstopthemusic wrote:Gasol will be the one gone.

Kobe is a warrior! Kobe knows his window is closing, and he also knows the opportunity to play for a championship is rare. I wonder what he thinks of Gasol and his disappearing act.ParaDime77 wrote:Hey Grishnak, if you have a second to jump off the Gasol bandwagon for a minute, let me ask you this: Why would you want to keep a guy on the team that everyone in the locker room lost respect for?? Re: Gasol or Bynum
However, a recent interview with an overseas source states that Gasol declared he wants to remain with Los Angeles for "as many years as I can."
“My desire is to stay with the Lakers. I don’t have control over it but I want to stay with the Lakers for as many years as I can to be able to remain eligible for the maximum possible championships,”
Then why did you play like shit during the playoffs?

IT'S OBVIOUS YOU AND THE OTHER IDIOT HAVE VERY SHORT ATTENTION SPANS - LET'S TRADE 1 OF THE KEY REASONS OF THE LAST 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS, GREEEEEEAAAAAAT IDEEEEAAAA!!! IT'S A GOOD THING THAT YOUR JOBS DON'T DEPEND ON TAKING IMPORTANT DECISIONS BEYOND WHICH PRODUCTS GO ON WHICH BAG.ParaDime77 wrote:Hey Grishnak, if you have a second to jump off the Gasol bandwagon for a minute, let me ask you this: Why would you want to keep a guy on the team that everyone in the locker room lost respect for?? IF YOU WERE A TRUE LAKER FAN & NOT A FUCKING BANDWAGONER, YOU WOULDN'T BE THINKING ABOUT TRADING A KEY REASON TO MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIPS, BUT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT FUCKING ARTEST, ODOM/THE DISGUSTING PIG OF A WIFE AND CRYSTAL KNEES BYNUM.
