Just picked up a Zoom G3 pedal. Super fun, especially the looper function. It's amazing considering it only costs $199.

Nothing new to speak of, but finally paid off the Peavey 212 combo and 5150 412 cab.
Not certain what I want next....thought about a 335, but it'd have to be a really GOOD one(even then, don't really have a jones for another guitar for the time being). May just see about one of the Ceriatone 2550 kits.

Those kits are supposed to rock.
You know that the Epi 335s aren't far from the mark.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I'm a huge fan of the Epi Riviera, but the mini hums ain't for everybody.ElToro wrote: You know that the Epi 335s aren't far from the mark.
There are full-sized hum versions that have come out occasionally...they are supposed be damned good, a bit better than the sheraton 2's. Different eras were made in different places, tho. I have heard the 90's/early 2000s Korean (peerless?) ones are great, and the '80's-early '90's Motumoku ones as well...shit, those things got Noel Gallagher as far as Knebworth.
My own is an early 2000s Korean with mini hums. I have done some work to it, but prefer it to almost everything.
...and, of course, if you can afford one of Epi's elite line, all of which go around a grand on ebay, you're getting a great guitar for the money.

Another Predator! You can't beat $50! Congrats on that score!
Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I'm giving this one some serious thought.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1978-Gibson ... 630987077?
I could give a shit about the Tina Turner history (I guess it would be good for resale). I've been looking for a 70's Paul, & this looks fairly decent.
I'm not sure why the master volume was added or needed. I don't think I've seen on placed there before. I seen one put in the neck tone spot once.
Whadda think Toro?

$2300 for a modified '78? Seems a little high to me. Iknow a guy with a black Classic and EMGs for $1400.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I know it sounds picky but I absolutely hate the exaggerated headstock shape on those late 70s Gibson guitars. I had almost that exact same guitar back in the late 90s except the guy who had it before me stripped the finish and totally botched it. Mine had the normal number of knobs.
Strictly a flip job. I had to add machines, bridge, tailpiece, maybe a couple other simple repairs. Got it free, sold it for 600. Never thought about keeping it for a second.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
They're asking extra for the fact it's Tina Turner's guitar player's guitar. I wouldn't bite on that, but the ad says the guy is working for them now so if one could get a COA and they were a Tina Turner fan, somebody might go for that. Doesn't hurt to ask but they DON'T seem to offer a COA. I think the added master volume is hokey, just rewire the existing setup to a master instead of drilling a new hole.ElToro wrote:$2300 for a modified '78? Seems a little high to me. Yeah, I'd think the dried Tina blood on the back of it would guarantee a good investment.Engine13 wrote:lerxstcat wrote:They're asking extra for the fact it's Tina Turner's guitar player's guitar. I think it was Ike's, and Tina secretly liked getting slapped around. She wanted to have the guitar around to remind her how good she had it.ElToro wrote:"Dat bitch don't leave me... gimme your geetar fer a second..."
