Transformers 3 - 6
Weakest of the three imo. It is what it is. Robots beating the crap out of each other. A lot of cliche moments and cringeworthy dialogue but thats hardly surprising.

Rampage, just now on Netflix streaming. 8/10
The population explosion would be less of a problem if lighting the fuse didn't feel so good.

Damnation Alley (1977) - 7/10 - saw this one on HBO back in the day and all I remembered was the killer cockroaches. It was on Fox Movie Channel last night and although the FX were funny, I still liked the story. George Peppard pre A Team, a sober looking Jan Michael Vincent, a black dude thats been in a tons of flick, Kelly Leak, a huge futuristic truck that was about in every scene and post Apocolyptic WWIII America.
Scream 4 (2011) - 2/10

Kill The Irishman (2011) - 8/10.
True story mafia flick set in Cleveland in the 70's. Mob movie fans ought to enjoy this. It stars Ray Stevenson (Punisher) as Irish Union Leader/Racketeer/Mob boss Danny Greene and his F You Attitude to any dago that gets in his way in . Good flick, nice use of actual archival footage and great documentary in the extras sections. Also stars Vincent D'Onofrio (Pyle from Full Metal Jacket), Christopher Walken, Paul Sorvino and a still fat Val Kilmer. The guy that was a dick as the Warden in Shawshank is a dick in this one...he plays that same type of character.
They sure loved their car bombs in Cleveland back in the day. Good rental off Netflix.

Surrogates (2009) - 5/10. Not great, but decent enough. Cool premise.

Get Him To The Greek is the funniest movie I've seen in years. I was kind of drunk and watched it twice, which I've never done before. And I'm kind of drunk a lot. "We cut the rocks, you took the smack, oh yeah!" Awesome. I thought I hated this Russel guy before, but he's fucking funny as shit. He should kill his stupid teeny bopper boob hooker and get back on the junk.
This might sound weird coming from a German, but I want some London accent servant who follows me and comments on everything I do. I'd never stop laughing. I blame Sludge for my Americophilia.

Dead Hooker in a Trunk 6.5 out of 10
obviously first time filmmakers (they're twins, and not bad looking, guys)
had some pretty good laughs, but it was kinda predictable.

Crazy, Stupid, Love.- 9/10. Took a point off cus it was a little too long and cus 2 of the characters didn't need to be in the plotline. But the rest of it was fantastic. Perfect mix of romantic and comedy, best movie I've seen in the theater in quite some time.

However...
I recently watched the Arthur remake with Russell Brand and it was definitely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Really terrible.

From Hell (2001) - 9/10. Almost perfect. Moody, dark and violent. All it was missing was a Hammer Films logo during the opening credits. The Hughes Bros had a good thing going there for a while.

Bridesmaids ~ I approve. 7/10.
Harry Potter ~ Meh. Decent CGI - that said, I'm not going to base the mark mainly on that 'cos that's expected these days. Thus, it gets a 5/10. I've always thought Emma Watson and co. were all terrible actors.
Horrible Bosses ~ Mega L0lZ. 8/10.
edit: I never usually watch a movie just because of it's title, however, this film could be the exception:

Hobo With A Shotgun is so bad it's good. However, Rutger Hauer makes a stellar performance.drops_of_jupiter wrote:Bridesmaids ~ I approve. 7/10.

Wow. Scanning through Rotten Tomatoes and see the Change Up coming in at 20%. Has Ryan Reynolds been in a movie that made any money?

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
It's pretty bad. Might go see it later. I ike Ryan and think that Just Friends is one of the greatest movies ever - but RT even gave that like 30%. These are just bad roles....a Green Lantern movie would ALWAYS bomb and a body switch comedy is just bottom of the barrel.johnk5150 wrote:Wow. They greenlit a GL sequel by the way. Yay more Ryan.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Rise of The Planet of The Apes: 7.5 out of 10. It was fun, and not too cheesy for a PG-13 movie. James Franco was good, but the movie centers mainly around the monkey, Ceasar who is quite likable. Still, it takes a while for the apes to really take over(maybe the last 20-30 mins), so a lot of it is build up.
Would be interesting to see how others think this compares to the Tim Burton version, as I haven't seen that one.
