Cowboys and Chargers joint practice

Post by El Metalico »

Today the COWBOYS and the Chargers did their practice together at the formers' practice facility and tomorrow they'll do it again but at the COWBOYS stadium.

AND...

They will play against each other the second pre-season game next sunday.

Is there an antecedent to this? :?:

I have never seen in any sport that two teams practice together and much less prior to a game they will match.

And even more incredible is that there are talks that the COWBOYS and Chargers will make this an ANNUAL event

I know there are links between the team because of Norv Turner, Chargers' headcoach, cuz he coached in the COWBOYS and was a mentor to Jason Garrett and Rob Ryan, but it seems a little weird.

Take it easy.
Deep breathe and crack open your favorite cerveza hombre.

During the exhibition season, teams will sometimes engage in "organized practices" in the days leading up to a pre-season game.

When I saw Cowboys and joint practice in the title I thought it was going to be about the Michael Irvin era Cowboys.

It's not unheard of. The Cowboys and Texans used to do a few days of pre-season scrimmaging in San Antonio to help both their presences in the market.

Well, in the end it served more to the Chargers than to the COWBOYS.

The Texans have been doing it with the Saints the past few years. They didn't this year due to the compressed schedule, but I'd be surprised if they didn't pick it up again next season. Going against another team and another scheme in camp isn't the worst idea in the world.

Cowboys and Broncos have done it in the past as well.
