Agreed, but I'm curious to see what happens when/if Ovechkin, Chara, or another elite player does something.

Yeah, like Lucic and his two handers to the back of heads that Colon just never seemed to see.

Nah. Coming from a player like Simmonds he should know better.

I'm all for trash talking, but you know damn well if anyone, but especially Sean Avery, dropped the N-bomb they'd be suspended. No question.

I'm guessing nigger doesn't get said much on the ice, but faggot gets said all the time. Avery is only mad because he most likely does like penis at least some of the time. Do you get mad when somebody calls you a fag? Of course you don't, only fags get mad.

Seriously. "Faggot" is a typical playground/sports type of taunt. "Nigger" will probably get your ass whupped in most situations.

Apparently Simmonds called Avery a cocksucker, and Avery is making a big deal of it. Seriously? Cocksucker? Avery looks like an even bigger douche than he already is if that's what he's making a federal case over.

Rangers waive Avery.

Dumb move. Not because I don't like the Norwegian Hobbit knows as Mats Zuccarello, but because Torts has such an ego that he wanted the softest North American in the NHL, Erik Christensen, on the team over Avery.

Avery would totally steal Torts' thunder on the HBO 24/7 show. Can't have that.

dropping avery had EVERYTHING to do with 24/7. you don't need him representing the league on hbo.

although they did have matt cooke on last year although it's not his mouth that makes him a total douche.

Habs picked up Blair Betts, off of waivers, from the Flyers today. Nice pick up. We needed a 4th line center, with size and a low price tag, who can kill penalties. Thrilled with this move.

A new season begins!

Kings over Rangers in the finals.

B's shot to repeat depends on Rask and Seguin.

They're going to spend the entire year on a jet, that's how they look. Winnipeg, in the Southeast division, clearing customs every one of those trips = lost season.

Glad that The Flyers at least got to ruin The Bruins' banner party tonight. :P

I'm basically going to lose my mind at the home opener this Sunday, that's how they look.

Tix are selling for upwards of $1000 on the secondary market. The town is going nuts.

No. I just ignored it while eating my appetizer and waiting on my wings.

We're dealing with a superstar here. Please show some respect.

I have a feeling this is going to be King Henrik's year.

Bryzgalov looked great last night. Weird seeing Philly with goaltending.

I hate that my Habs are the sacrificial lambs for the Jets' home opener. They are going to be PUMPED. I don't see the Habs having a chance.

Sucks for us opening in TO and Winnipeg. Tough buildings to open in.

Tough shit. I have tickets to the home and home at the end of the month. Price will keep them in the mix.

Blame NBC/Bettman for televising Dancing With The Cup to a national audience. It was originally suppose to take place from 6:30-7:10 on NESN. NBC decided at the last minute that they wanted to air it and delayed the original start time.

With the parity in the league, wouldn't it make sense to get rid of the divisions and just realign as two conferences? Just list 16 teams East/West and battle it out for the top 8.
