I actually just took delivery of this:



I am superstoked. I have been wanting a non-cutaway thinline semi-hollow FOREVER. I have had every variation of ES125TD (TD=thin body, double pickups) in my ebay watch list for years...but when one comes up, it's usually a beater at around $700 or a good one for about $1200, both too rich for me...and I wanted a semi-hollow anyway, which this is (!)

This was $189+$29 shipping!

This is supposedly a Waterstone prototype...I have certainly never seen one.

So far it seems great. The nut is binding, so I will file that out a little, and the switch needs a little tlc...aside from that I MAY change the bridge to a TOM, and I may sink a mini hum in the lead...I also may not if the stock stuff is good.

I WILL make a white pickguard for it, as I have always loved the look of the Epiphone Century, I will move the strap button from the back to the edge, and I will take some 600-800 grit to the finish to dull down the over-the-top poly shine.

They are good things. My Epi Rivieras make me very happy.

The new Anniversary Casinos are well worth checking out. I played one at GC (which has since sold) and it was head-and-shoulders above the other Epis they had there...and I LIKE Epis.

I really wish Epi would do a non-reverse firebird. That and a Ric 481 copy (Ibanez 2388 or home-brew) are really all that's left on my want list. (The non-cutaway I got yesterday was on there...)

I haven't played this model but I have their LP and SG copies and they are of at least equal quality to the respective Epiphones and are made in Korea like the Epis used to be (many are now made in China). You can also get this in sunburst if you don't like the white one. They are both on page 11 or 12 of the home site's electric guitars category. Epi quality at lower prices, significantly lower!
