Luck could well turn out to be the next Jeff george or Ryan leaf.

No guarantees in the NFL.

Idiots like p-13 are about to find out how special someone like manning really is.

Too bad his career is over.

So are the Colts.

LOL at p13 already sucking Luck's cock.

This guy is just too much.

He doesn't seem to realize how awful the colts are. They aren't one qb away from contending.

They are starting from scratch.

Cam has awesome fantasy numbers, he's not really "winning games" though. He is a rookie though, I think he's way better than I thought he was going to be. He'll eventually be fine.

Luck is one of the few D1 QB's who actually play from under center. There's something to that. Kid is smart too.

My crystal ball says he'll be a decent QB.

The Panthers' defense allows 28 points/game. Only the Colts' defense is worse (30). Tough to win games that way.

Which is a perfect illustration of why the Colts aren't just an Andrew Luck or a Peyton Manning away.

If Manning ever plays again, I doubt it will be in a Colts uniform.

He doesn't deserve to come back and risk paralysis and death playing with a fucked up neck just to steward the Colts through a few terrible seasons. He'll want to go somewhere else and have a chance to win instead.

They could trade the pick for a bunch of them and quick start the process. They're not THAT far removed from success. It'll probably come down to how long they think Manning can play at a high level vs. how much they think of Luck.

Wow, lots of ignorant opinions from people who know nothing about our organization, or football in general. First off, when Peyton returns, he will be a Colt. There is zero doubt about that. When he does come back, we will be contenders. Our running game is much improved and offensive line has played well this year. We still have offensive weapons who can make plays if you get them the ball. The reality is, you can't win in this league without a quarterback. We're currently on our fourth string QB. With Peyton we're at least 8-3 right now, maybe better. We'll use our draft picks to draft a future QB and fortify our defense. The road BACK to the Super Bowl starts now.

"you" have the worse defense in the league. Peyton doesn't play defense and your offense is no longer good enough to cover for it. The next few years are going to be fun.

Damn boy, can you not read? The guy asked why everyone is hyping Luck to be the number one pick, and I answered him. The first thing I said is that there are NO GUARANTEES. At the same time, there is a reason he's the most anticipated QB to come out of the draft in the last decade.

Regarding Peyton, bitch, I've said for YEARS there is only one Peyton Manning and there will never be another. I've never taken his talents for granted. He is the greatest to ever play the position. Don't sit there and tell me how special Peyton is, asshole. My hope is that he comes back and plays for 4 more years for us. Watching him play for the past 13 years has been truly amazing. There is no expectation for Luck to be the next Peyton Manning, because that's impossible. The HOPE is that he can be a good franchise QB once Peyton retires, something that many teams, like the Redskins, would do just about anything for.

Our defense has never been dominant. We haven't had a really good defense for about three years, yet we've still managed to go to the playoffs each of those years. For one thing, our defense performs better when playing with a lead. Our defense was built around the fact that we have Peyton Manning, and thus, would be scoring a lot of points on offense. Our defense was never built to win when our offense scores 14 points a game, as we've been doing. Bottom line, we're at least 8-3 this season with Peyton and you cannot argue against that. You can't win in this league without a QB, and we're on our fourth string QB.

I agree, the next few years will be fun. Peyton will come back and lead us to two more championships. It's going to be GLORIOUS.

All defenses play better with a big lead late. Offenses become one dimensional and defenses can sit back on the pass. Opposing QBs tend to press and make mistakes in that situation. But it's still no excuse for being 0-11. Indy either got old very quickly or isn't trying, or a combination of both. Based on their performance so far they would be more like 4-7 with Manning.

I am looking forward to Sunday. Belichick hates Polian and will show that team no mercy. He's spent all week reminding his team of Indy's big name players who are still on the field. Look for the Patriots to cover the 20 point spread and take care of the 48 point over by themselves.

You have been wrong about SO MUCH this year...and you are wrong about this. I'll just leave it at that.

And there is nothing funnier than a guy on an 0-11 team talking Super Bowl.

I can't? What evidence do you have to back that claim? Better with Manning? Absolutely. 8 or more wins better at this point? I don't see it.

It's time to start preparing for the possibility of no more Cutler for the season.

Mathis, Garçon, Wayne, and Saturday are all free agents next year. If the Colts keep Manning and draft Luck who are they going to let go? They can't keep them all. Yeah they're primed for another Superbowl run.

And there's no way Peytons there for another 4 years if they draft Luck. Luck ain't gonna sit for 4 years, and Peyton won't be taking a back seat after 2 of those years with the contract he'll be on. I'll be surprised if he's there next season IF they draft a QB high up. Maybe he still will be if they go for someone lower down. It would be funny if the Colts did go for Luck and he pulled a Peytons brother and refused to go there.

I can't see a scenario where the Colts would "pass" on Luck with the #1 overall pick.
Right now they have a future HOF QB who's future is in doubt.
That reason alone is enough to pick Luck.
I am very much against using the #1 overall pick on a QB because the expectations are so great and almost impossible to achieve.

What are the odds selecting a QB #1 overall works out for the twice?

Really hyped college players rarely live up to expectations. Remember the "Bush Bowl"? That said, Luck really does look as NFL ready as any QB I can recall. Of course, a lot of people said the same thing about Matt Leinhart. Barkley looks like a pretty solid pick to me too. He should be the next QB to go after Luck. If I'm Indy, I'm thinking hard about a trade scenario where I can get Barkley for the future and a few extra picks to help my defense now.

Bears might, Texans won't, at least I really hope not. They might have had he gotten clipped a week ago. I could see a scenario where they'd work him out if he clears waivers and Yates falls on his face.

Texans picked up Dellhome. Actually, he's the perfect mentor/emergency QB. I was really hoping Cleveland would keep him around to mentor Colt McCoy but it was hard to justify his salary on Cleveland's end and on Jake's end I can see not wanting to sit behind McCoy and Seneca Wallace, which was the only way he was gonna stay.

He's competeing with that guy Washington cut in camp for the backup spot. Clemens I think? Houston doesn't need a mentor. Schaub is still there for that role. He fucked up his foot, he didn't die, and who needs a mentor that doesn't know the offense? They do need a guy that can hand the ball to Foster and Tate and throw the ball 15 times or so if they lose a third QB this year though. Reports are that Dellhome looked pretty good with the team yesterday, but that guy is an INT machine from what I remember. Houston is fucked if they have to go with him for any length of time. Hopefully he never sees the field. They're probably fucked anyway, but we'll see what the Yates kid can do. Maybe he's the second coming of Tom Brady.

If McScabb wanted to be a mentor, do you think he would've asked out of Minny?

If he asked out, there must have been a little bird in his ear about the Chicago gig.
