Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I have Sonnen over Munoz, but Munoz's tdd might cancel out Chael's. Munoz has been taken down by worse wrestlers, but I don't think Chael will be able to hold him down. They actually wrestled in college years ago, where Chael went for a heel hook when he was losing the match (which is illegal). Munoz ended up beating him badly.

This is off topic, but I miss the Pride GP tournaments.

I do too, and some other things...I decided to rewatch some of the fights mentioned in the above list and and watching wanderlei stomping Hendo's face made me realize how much I miss those rules.
Did anyone saw the zaromskis fight? He got the win thanks to a crazy somersault kick he pulled out of nothing...one of the most entertaining fighters out there.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
The worst thing to happen to the UFC was signing the Fox deal...I just dont see the attraction/advantage of taking the fights from Spike to FOX. Spike pulls a predominantly male viewership whereas I would think Fox pulls more women and children viewers...which might not bode well if the fights get ultra bloody as they are known to do...
Im looking forward to Faber/Cruz again as well as Diaz/Cerrone. Donald Cerrone is a beast if he can get ya on the ground...and Diaz would rather stand, so this should be a great fight..

I hate this...Leben has been one of the fighters I like since he was on Ultimate Fighter 1..I really want to see him succeed, but he seems hell bent on fucking it up...

Bisbing demolished Miller. Damn, that was a beat down.
Miller looked good for about 2 minutes, got tired, & was done.
Bisbing picked him apart with problem.
A good night of fights. That little shaved head guy can sure
bang. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future. That
submission happened in about half a second. Damn!

Miller got beat down, I really hope this leads to Bisping getting a fight with either Belfort or Anderson to see him get knocked out again, or maybe just roughed up for 3 rounds by Sonnen

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
The two TUF winners both should have a lot of great, exciting fights in their future. They both brought it last night...wow. Especially the later fight with Brandau and Bermudez.
(Not saying too much as to avoid spoilers for those that have yet to see it.)
Since they winner was already disclosed for the Main event...
Miller gassed. Could have been interesting if he hadn't from the looks of the first round, but Bisping just beat him up after that. Overall, I think it was a poor idea to reintroduce Miller back into the UFC with a fight this big against a top contender. Break him back in with a few warm-up fights at least. I guess the TV personality for TUF opposed to the fighter won out.
Hopefully Silva Bisping is gonna happen. I'd like to see Silva royally fuck him up.

Miller spent all his energy when he had Bisping's legs locked in against the cage. There was one point in the first minute of the 2nd round where you could see he was gassed.John Simon Ritchie wrote:The two TUF winners both should have a lot of great, exciting fights in their future. You guys may hate Bisping, but he brings it every time & is always an entertaining fighter.
I agree about bringing Miller back too soon against a top fighter.
I'm not a Belfort fan at all. The way Anderson Silva knocked him out was embarrassing. A Belfort/Bisping fight would be good though.
My guess is Bisping gets the loser of the Sonnen/Munoz fight. Although I do not think Dana White wants Bisping to sit around & do nothing for 6 months since the Sonnen/Munoz fight isnt until end of January(?).

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Miller looked fucking terrible after the first round. He looked skinny "for him" too. I really expected a better showing out of him.
I thought both fighters comments afterward showed pretty good sportsmanship and class.
Hopefully Miller learned something from this fight and we'll see a rematch.

I actually liked Bisping when he was on/won TUF, but he just started coming off as an arrogant twat over the past few years. Dude's a great fighter though.

He's definitely a good fighter but great is a bit much. I didn't watch all his fights but to be a great fighter he still needs to beat a great (or a very good fighter).John Simon Ritchie wrote: I actually liked Bisping when he was on/won TUF, but he just started coming off as an arrogant twat over the past few years. Hendo punched his head across the octagon and even over the hill Wanderlei almost soccer kicked hm after knocking down his limey ass. Oh and the mute guy was robbed.
I hope he does get Anderson, it'll be fun to watch Silva toy with him until he gets bored.
Belfort would be good too if you don't mind early knockouts.

He's good, and that's about it.
He's top 5 in that weight division. To say he is NOT very good would be incorrect. If he were to fight any of the four ahead of him, they would all be great fights & he might win a couple of them.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I wouldn't call him top 5 even. Maybe 9 or 10. I see him getting demolished by a lot of middleweights, like maia, munoz, sonnen, belcher, okami, belfort, rumble (if he stays at mw), and palhares. I think Le and Wanderlei would have a good chance of beating him as well.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I also see him getting DEMOLISHED by the champ. He got outstruck by Miller before he gassed out at the end of the 1st. Silva would't need more than two minutes to knock him out

Outstruck? Are you kidding me?slash4pres wrote:I also see him getting DEMOLISHED by the champ. He got outstruck by Miller before he gassed out at the end of the 1st. Silva would't need more than two minutes to knock him out
The only thing Miller did was pin him against the cage & locked his legs so he couldnt get out of it. Thats what gassed Miller. He shot his wad on that one takedown. Once Bisping got up, & hit him with a couple of shots, Miller was done.
About that list- the only fighters on that list that are for sure winners are Sonnen & Munoz. Everybody else might win, but more than likely not. Belfort is on the downside of his career. So what that he knocked out that jap guy.
Of course I dont mention Anderson Silva because the only other fighter that I think can beat Silva is Sonnen. Everybody else, not a chance.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
He still popped him quite a few times with wild haymakers in the first. Bisping has pillowfists, Mayhem was smiling and asking for more when Bisping was slugging him in the face. Mayhem even got right up after Mazzagotti called it. If the fight went to the 4th and 5 rounds, 'miller would've probably passed out from exhaustion. If either of them fought a legit top 5 mw like they did to each other, I'd see both losing badly.

I'd say it was looking more likely that Bisping was gonna drop from exhaustion from trying to beat Miller into submission there in the 3rd.slash4pres wrote:If the fight went to the 4th and 5 rounds, 'miller would've probably passed out from exhaustion.

Ask Miller's face if Bisping has pillowfists. Miller ended up in the
hospital. Bisping had nothing to do with it?
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
By the way,
its been awhile since we've got into a fighter as we are in Bisping.
He's not one of my favs, but he always brings it.
Did you see the weigh in? I laughed out loud when he did what he did.

See? More of Bisping proving what a dick he is. Mayhem wasn't exhausted?
The only reason he landed those big shots was because/after Miller was totally gassed. Yeah, Mike, you sure whupped his ass enough in the first to make him wanna quit.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
He's a good striker, but has zero KO power. I don't really consider it a legit stoppage when someone pops right back up after it's called.yeahbuddy wrote:Fighters act that way because they are getting their ass kicked.slash4pres wrote:He still popped him quite a few times with wild haymakers in the first. He's also an extremely dirty fighter. In the Mayhem fight, he complained to the ref to stand it up after like 30 seconds of Mayhem being on top, tried to say the head butt was intentional, and went for a head kick when Miller's knee was on the ground, a blatantly illegal move. He's just a douchebag, and I really want to see him fight either Sonnen or Silva so he can be exposed as not good enough for the big dogs. He's never beaten anyone top ten, and the only time he fought a top ten fighter, it was one of the most brutal KOs in mma history.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
My guess is he fights Brian Stann next. That should be a good one.
Or the winner of the Belfort/Johnson fight. Another great fight.
