well normally the great equalizer is a running game that keeps the packers offense off the field.

a passing team probably excels in good weather, no rain/no snow, etc....

Green Bay is really good, but they've had a few close scrapes this year. Both the Saints and Giants were right there, and either is capable of beating them given a lucky bounce or two. I don't know if the AFC has a team that can do it.

Denver beat struggling Jets and Chargers teams. Those are really their only "quality" wins. They needed two retarded plays by Barber to beat a collapsing Bears squad. They've been lucky but I think they're done against any of the top seeds and Pitt will beat them in Denver. This weekend will tell us a lot. I expect NE to beat them handily.

There was never any reason to think Peyton's health was in doubt. It is what it is. With the salary cap, you sacrifice a quality starter by carrying a high quality backup on your roster. I don't think we could have handled it any other way. Everyone knew we would not win the Super Bowl without Peyton anyway.

I'm not going to lie, there is a lot of uncertainty about next year. We still face the question of whether or not Peyton will come back healthy. Everyone believes he will but it's still an uncertain situation with the nerve having to regenerate. There's nothing I'd like more than to see Peyton come back to the team for 3-4 more years. Forget about records, championships, winning, etc, the thing I think about most is that watching Peyton Manning play the game is just plain fun, and truly a privilege that I've enjoyed since 1998. No one plays the game the way he does, and it's been incredible to watch him play every Sunday for 12 years. If you're a football fan, you enjoy watching Peyton play the game, and you appreciate all he's done for the game. That's the one thing I will never forget, and I always realize how lucky I've been to watch him play every week since he was drafted into the league. I hope and believe we will have a few more years of that.

Regarding the playoffs, hard not to consider the Packers overwhelming favorites to win it all. No, I don't see anybody beating them right now but that's what I enjoy about the playoffs, anything can happen and there are a number of teams who could possibly put together a good enough game to beat GB. In the NFC, I think the Saints and Giants are the only two teams that could possibly do it. Obviously the Packers are going to be at Lambeau throughout the playoffs, and I do not see them losing there. Much as I cannot stand Rodgers, he is firing on all cylinders right now and it is impressive to watch. With all the weapons they have, I would be very surprised if they did not go to the Superbowl at 18-0.

In the AFC, there are really only two teams that stand a chance against GB, and that's Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Both teams have looked impressive and I'd say it will between those two teams in the AFC. No one else has a defense that can contend against Rodgers and GB. Houston will fold early with their rookie QB. NE will not win any games with that defense. Denver will go nowhere with Tebow. To me, it definitely comes down to Pitt and Baltimore, both teams have what it takes
to contend with GB, although I think either one will ultimately lose in the Super Bowl.

Well, Peyton wouldn't come back if his health was at risk. He also wouldn't come back if he couldn't play at the high level that he's always played at. The neck is already healed and there is firm fixation so that's not the issue. They say after a surgery like this your neck is just as strong or stronger than it was before the injury. The issue right now is the nerve regeneration in his arm. There's no way to say when, or even if, it will come back for sure. No doctor in the world can predict that. That's what is keeping Peyton back from being able to throw the ball with the kind of velocity that he needs to right now. Everyone thinks it will regenerate in the near future, but until it happens, there's no guarantee.

Of course Peyton's had an amazing career and everything comes to an end. But I cannot envision and certainly do not want to consider that his career could end this way. With everything he's done, he deserves to go out on his own terms. He deserves the chance at having a proper send off after his final season. His last game should NOT be that wild card game against the Jets which our pathetic special teams squandered away at the last second. And truthfully, he deserves at least one more Super Bowl win.

And I agree with you about Painter. He's terrible and was never a viable option, and the team should have recognized that two years ago when he got some playing time at the end of the season and looked awful. He was a rookie then, but still.
