Yeah, Cliff is a QPR fan. United hit the woodwork a few times too. By most accounts it was their best performance for a while. Arsenal let us down though.

What do you think of this:

Personally if we couldn't get in the top two of that group we don't deserve to be there.

Agreed. United would be put out by Bayern anyways. And hey, United have never won the Uefa cup/Europa League and neither has Fergie. Would be nice to add it to our collection.

The link doesn't open for me, but if you're talking about the chance of getting back to CL through backdoor. I think it would be embarrassing, Basel earned their place.

Fulham gets trashed. They've been better home. Nice goals for Rooney and Berbatov. And Giggs have scored in every season now. Lindegaard played well, I think he's more sure at goal than Dave DeGea.

Good point for the Villa at Stoke, although going through a worrying time , really need to get that Ginger cunt out quickly!

Please with some of the younger players Clark and Herd are looking good

What an embarrassment losing to Blackburn at OT. Some horrible defending and I'd prefer Lindegaard over De Gea. Their penalty was soft but Berba couldn't make up for it in the end.

Terrible today. Manager needs to take a look at himself after that selection and performance. Not good enough.

I don't understand why he insists on playing De Gea. Lindegaard has kept a clean sheet in his last six games or something. Not choosing a number one goalie doesn't help.

How fucking poor, all the hard work pissed away in two games. It's January, where the fuck is the top midfielder? Both Newcastle's goals were nice, the OG wasn't.

Didn't watch it so can't comment on the performance, but 3-0 to anybody is a poor result. A trophyless season beckons once City dump them out the cup.

Surprisingly not. Scholes gave them a goal on his surprise return. No solution for the midfield problem.

Smacks of Desperation Scholes coming out of retirement. United were lucky today, too. The red card could easily have been just a booking, and United looked toothless second half. Also, letting city "win" the second half will galvanize them.

Liverpool next round.

It's the first red I've seen without any contact, still it was a two legged tackle attempt.

2 footed and he jumped in. Mancini reckons they will appeal and win, but we'll see. You don't have to make contact to get sent off. It was a dangerous tackle. It will depend on if the ref will look at it again. Sometimes they will and they then change their mind. But not always. I think Foy got this one right, but some of his bookings afterwards were abysmal, and smacked of him trying to even up the game.

It was a definite sending off, you can;t jump in like that , having said that , United looked shit in the 2nd half and nearly fucked up a 3 goal lead against 10 men!.

We struggled to beat Bristol Rovers , then drew Arsenal or Leeds away , not great news!!

Robbie Keane on way to Villa for 2 months , good now fuck that donkey Heskey off for gods sake

Interesting at tranfer market. Utd are looking at Demba Ba, who has a release clause for just 7 million. Doh!

Maybe it will go better for Newcastle, if Liverpool sells Carroll back for 10 mil.

That would be minus 25 million for Liverpool. And Torres also continues to be shite.

Expected win for the Big Lads today, and a goal from Paul Scholes. Dippers draw again as do Spurs, with Chavski winning.

Worth repeating. Good old Arsene. Gets Arshavin in and Valencia goes around him easily and sets up for Welbeck.

Welbeck is funny. I have thought a few times, time to change him, he hasn't done anything. Then he gets a goal at a perfect moment. Nice to be wrong this way.

Not sure if you've ever heard the podcast of Michael Davies and Roger Bennett aka Men In Blazers but they are hilarious. They cover mostly EPL clubs and related events and also some USA/MLS footy every now and then.

http://www.grantland.com/podcasts

They're mixed in there on Bill Simmons' podcast website. I have respect for a small few at ESPN and Bill Simmons is one of them. He loves soccer and picked Tottenham years ago after the 2006 World Cup I believe.

For his new contract he's demanding 60k a week! The management aren't too happy and I can't blame them. He's just okay imo and I wouldn't lose sleep if he left.

Welbeck was unlucky with the chance that got cleared off the line, but at the end he should have just shot when he got in the box. Dunno why he was trying to take it round players. That match could easily have been more to United. Arsenal are still a shambles. Poor sub by Arsene. He's been taking a beating all over the internet since the game finished.
