You can't really be this stupid.
Umm...yeah right. You actually can, as your track record shows.
You REALLY think the CEO of the Colts is just throwing his entire draft/offseason strategy out there for everybody to see? Even HE isn't that stupid.
He's just trying to drive up the value of whatever pick he ends up with. You can't take any of that bullshit seriously.
Wrong. Sorry but your logic makes no sense. Even IF Mr.Irsay wanted to go on national TV and lie in order boost the value of his assets (which he wouldn't), what you're saying doesn't make any sense. Firstly, we would never TRADE Peyton Manning. Never going to happen. If, for some ludicrous reason we wanted to part ways with a healthy Peyton Manning, our only option would be to release him. Why? Because he is due a $28 Million option before the 2012 league year. The option must be paid before he is traded. If we keep Peyton, the cap number is about $17millions next year. If he's traded, that entire $28 million will count against our cap next year! Now why in the world would we trade a player who is going to count that much against our cap? The answer is, it would never happen. Anybody who has any football knowledge at all knows that would never happen.
So given the fact that we would not trade him, what purpose does it serve to go on TV and lie about the intention to bring him back?? It serves absolutely no purpose. Thus, your logic holds no water. You shouldn't run your mouth on a subject that you don't know much about. Just like when you said not long ago that Peyton would NEVER play again, now you are admitting it looks good for his return.
Secondly, if you listened closely, Irsay did not give away anything regarding our draft strategy. He simply said "IF" a good QB is available, he wouldn't hesitate to take him. That's the same thing he's been saying for months. It doesn't boost or lower the value of whatever pick we might eventually land. Anyone can tell you, if you've listened to what Irsay and Polian have been saying for weeks, is that their preferred scenario would be to keep Peyton and have his successor sit behind him and learn for a few years.
