Kubes didn't want OT. He was playing a tight end at linebacker. I was at the game. Sucks that they lost, but theyd have kicked Titan ass if they'd been playing starters. I didn't know who half those players were in the second half.AcillateM wrote:The way that game ended was a "What the fuck moment!"....wouldn't mind seeing the Titans again next week though.SkyDog112046 wrote:Texans showing some balls going for 2 at the end. "He is playing better than Rodgers at this point and has to get serious consideration for MVP."
Rodgers just passed for 5 TD's vs a defense that has historically given him/Packer O fits.
Rodgers went 15-1(14-1 technically) w/ the defending champ bullseye on his back.
Rodgers BEAT Brees once already.
Yes,Rodgers lost to KC.....Brees lost to the fucking RAMS! KC have we have seen just needed a coach and a decent QB and are actually a solid team and will contend next year with its stars back. The Rams are garbage and are going to start over yet again with a new coach in 2012.
The only viable threat to AR for MVP is Brady.
I could go on but I've already proven you are stupid.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
Half way through the season Rodgers would have been the unanimous MVP but Brees has turned it up a notch the past couple of months. In that time N.O. has won 8 straight, most of them blowouts. So it's no longer a case of Rodgers being the hands-down choice. He still should be MVP for the season he's had but Brees now deserves consideration, meaning he should get some of the votes but not enough to win the award.SpecialSauce wrote:"He is playing better than Rodgers at this point and has to get serious consideration for MVP."

I wouldn't put Brady over Brees this season. While Brady has been very good he hasn't been as sharp as he was in the past. His INTs are up and his completion rate is down. Not just that but his accuracy has been off even on a lot of the completions. He has an injury(I believe right elbow) that hasn't been fully disclosed. If you watch the Patriots(I've watched every snap) you'll see that he has been uncharacteristically inaccurate. He's one of the all-time greats, he's been 3rd best in the league this year, and best in the AFC, but not an MVP candidate.

Is Matt Flynn the real deal or Matt Cassel 2.0?
He won't be back to the Pack next season. Today's game might have made Flynn some money.
"On January 1, 2012, Flynn, in his second career start, set the Packers franchise records for passing yardage (480) and touchdowns (6) in a single game against the Detroit Lions."

I wouldn't mind seeing the Skins make a run at him.
I hate the idea of trading draft picks away to bring in Luck. Though there's a chance RG3 could fall to #6.

Cleveland will grab Griffin before Wash has a chance at him. It may have been a different story if Barkley came out, the Skins would have gotten one of them. Flynn has looked good every time I've seen him, but it is a short sample for a team to give him a big deal.Crazy Levi wrote:I wouldn't mind seeing the Skins make a run at him.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
The season is over, and I have to say, I am glad this one is behind us. It's been a year to forget and it's time to move on. Although, in a lot of ways, the action is just beginning for us. We've got the number one draft pick and numerous coaching/personnel decisions to be made. This will be the most turbulent offseason around here in quite some time. Supposedly team management is meeting as we speak to decide the fate of Coach Caldwell and to discuss the immediate direction of the franchise in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, all signs are pointing to Coach Caldwell being relieved of his duties. I hope that's not the case, but when you go 2-14, I guess some changes need to be made. I've always supported Coach Caldwell and I don't believe he's to blame for the season. We should know his fate by tomorrow, either way.

Season

Yup.
Wholesale changes needed on the JETS.
Sanchez while terrible, is going nowhere, I know this. Shotty will, with any luck, be gone this week. Horrible play-caller. Today: 3rd and 14 mid-field, Wildcat formation, QB dive for a shit yard. They NEVER throw in Wildcat and every D coordinator knows it.
Jets won't go after a big name QB, at least I don't think so. But what they should do is push McElroy. Guy looked great in preseason before getting hurt. Sanchez needs a fire lit under his ass. Sink or swim. Long-term I think he sinks. Apparently McElroy is a smart mofo. Doesn't always translate, but i'd bet he can read coverage better than Sanchise.
Jets need a RT badly. A traffic cone blocks better than Wayne Hunter.
I don't care about McKnight's return numbers, he can't hold on to the ball, maybe find a sucker in a trade or just cut him. DONE.
Need new secondary. Smith, Revis, and Wilson can stay.
Not sold on Greene. You can blame the O-line maybe, but he can't run shit up the middle.
I keep LT. Easy decision.
So yeah. Jets finish either 9-7 or 7-9 next year.

Can't wait to see the point spreads. Oddsmakers are going to have to come up with something juicy to get people to put money on Tebow-time, vs Pittsburgh's D.

Pittsburgh -28 @ Denver might get a few people to take Denver with the points. But I'd still take the Steelers. This is going to be a blowout of epic proportions, even with Mendenhall going down and Pitt's O-line having issues. It's going to be like the Denver/Detroit game.WOLF wrote:

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
Something interesting I found regarding QB passing. If you look at the Top 10 QBs in All-time Passing Yards they have only won 4 Superbowls as starters, and Elway has 2 of them. So all those numbers they put up over a combined 1700+ seasons only resulted in 4 championships.
Brees and Brady will enter the Top 10 next year as Brees needs less than 300 yds and Brady less than 900 yds. If they have average seasons they will be 8th and 9th at the end of next season. Eli Manning and Rapistberger need another 3-4 seasons to join them. Rodgers is putting up numbers at a nice clip but those seasons he lost to Favre might cost him.
It does point out that the rules have changed to favor passing as at least half the projected top 10 will be from the current era(bulk of their career played after 2005 rule changes).

I wonder if Brees can catch Favre's passing record. Even an average year for Brees is what, 4,000+ yards? Rodgers will never come close to the top 10.SkyDog112046 wrote:Something interesting I found regarding QB passing. Only the Walrus knows. It has been the talk of the town for the last few weeks. Neither Shurmur, Heckert, or Holmgren would say if Colt would be back though. They all said that Colt "would be evaluated at the end of the season." Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Seneca Wallace has spent the last two weeks throwing Colt under the bus while proclaiming he should start, to the press. So you can bet Seneca is not resigned....bane wrote:Are they giving up on Colt already? Yeah, it's one thing to be a loyal fan, but clearly, Caldwell is in over his head. He won games with Tony Dungy's leftovers. This year he was exposed. Peyton Manning was an incredible loss, but a capable coach still would have won more than 2 games with this team. Caldwell should fired ASAP.johnk5150 wrote:That team was better than 2-14. Bane, the crappy Bengals backed into the playoffs, but if I'm the Texans, I'm scared. What do the Bengals have to lose? They don't belong in the playoffs, but yet they are there. They are like the Seahawks last year, except the Seahawks actually won the last game of the season to earn their spot.
