Tebow will never duplicate the minor success he enjoyed this season.
Defenses will be quick to adjust to Tebow's strengths, while Tebow will take years to improve as a passer and the ability to read defenses.

At halftime, Tebow had fewer completions (3) than Brady had touchdown passes (5).

Tebow finished the game completing just 9-of-26 passes (34.6 percent), the worst completion rate in a playoff game with at least 25 attempts since Trent Dilfer connected on 30.6 percent of his throws in a 1997 Divisional Playoffs loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Tebow also had a scintillating 5 rushes for 13 yards.

If you compare Tebow's and Cam's "Behind" and "Ahead" lines, their QBR is almost identical situationally.

Both Tim's and Cam's QB rating is much higher when they throw while ahead... around 89 and 91 respectively.

When behind both QB's ratings are worse. 77 and 78 respectively.

The difference between the two is that Cam threw roughly as many passes as Tebow while behind (256) but threw ALMOST 6 TIMES more often while ahead (155)

And this is in spite of the fact that Tim finished 7-4 while Cam finished 6-10.

That's because Tebow wasn't able to do anything early in games and caused his team to play from behind.

They both played in the SEC and Cam Newton originally enrolled at Florida. That's about it.

While I believe Tebow is a worthwhile experiment, I also know he has miles to go as a passer.

THAT SAID, for all the talking head tools that dismiss him by reading the box score, consider what Tebow was asked to do:

Drew Brees threw a puss-like 67% of his passes (438 of 650 total attempts) less than 10 yards or behind the line of scrimmage. He also enjoyed 11 games in a dome, a top 3 set of weapons and 60% of the offensive line in the Pro Bowl. It's worth noting Brees played his sixth consecutive year in the same system for one of the best offensive minds in football.

In case you're wondering about other great QBs living the dream, Tom Brady was also a 67% dinker and Aaron Rodgers was 63%.

Tebow threw just 47% of his passes 10 yards or less.

When you consider he was consistently tasked with harder throws (yes, I agree he didn't pull the trigger on a lot of short ones, but I doubt that comes close to covering the difference), has yet to go through a training camp as a starter, saw Brandon Lloyd traded before his first start, lost the only running back that could catch, played with the most inexperienced set of receivers in the league, was protected by the 27th most experienced line in the NFL, and suffered the highest drop percentage on catchable balls in an offense that was heavily modified on the fly by a first-year coordinator -- what the heck was everyone expecting?

Tebow doesn't attempt to throw shorter passes because he knows he isn't accurate enough to make throws into coverage. Completions of 5-10 yards keep the chains moving and take time off the clock. Tebow isn't good enough to check down and throw a ball to a receiver who is being covered by a linebacker. It's pretty sad when a QB isn't able to take advantage of a mismatch in coverage. I'd rather see a QB hit his slot receiver for 7-8 yards and set up 2nd and short than watch him bounce a ball at his receiver's feet and get nothing. And those short, quick passes get a QB and the offense in rhythm and put the defense on their heels to set up big plays.

The fact that Tebow will opt to tuck the ball and run with it instead of checking down to a dump off receiver is a positive? It's one of his bigger failures.

Yea..it is. After your team goes 4-12 in 2010 and starts 1-4 2011 to win the division and beat the defending AFC Champions in the playoffs is kinda of a big deal.

Murray who is your squad? Funny I never see you talking about them? Who do they play this weekend?

"ok team Tebow will lead us to AFC West Champs and knockout of AFC Champs in the 1st round with a performance that will be talked about for ages, including the fastest overtime victory in history"

Team " sounds good but what will the Bang Tango fans in 2012 say on a hair band message board about us, that what matters"

raiders fan? The Denver Broncos have had a total of 6 losing seasons in 36 years. The Oakland Raiders have lost 100 games in 9 seasons. Please feel free to be quiet.

None of that changes the fact that Teblow totally stunk up Foxboro on Saturday.

By all means, keep doing the whole P13 to Levi, "Oh yeah, what about the Redskins?" if it makes you feel better.

raiders are a clownshoe. No winning seasons or playoffs in a decade. Not to mention they gave up a 1st and 2nd rounder for Carson 16 interceptions in 10 games Palmer.

3 headcoaches in 3 seasons.....Brillant!

Let's put Tebow aside for a minute. With Tebow aside, the Broncos were a bad team: 1-4 this year, 5-15 dating back to 2010. It was only through the magic of Tebow that the Broncos made the playoffs this year. He lifted the Broncos from a 25th league ranking in rushing through five games, to a No. 1 ranking by season's end.

It's OK to bash his passing, as long as it's remembered the Broncos averaged 190 yards rushing in his 11 starts.

Without Tebow, in other words, the Broncos are an extremely flawed team. Without Tebow, they would not have been a playoff team this year.
