So Greg, then you admit then that PEYTON MANNING lost the Superbowl for the Colts in 2010 and is clearly to blame for that loss correct? Choked in the Super Bowl. Good...poizond13 wrote:I have to laugh at the retards defending Brady and saying he doesn't deserve blame. These are the same idiots who give Brady credit for "winning" three Super Bowls. Brady got credit for winning three Super Bowls even though they were largely a defensive team with a basic offense. Now they are an offensive team and Brady could not carry the team. You can't lay the blame on anybody but Brady first and foremost. He made two HUGE mistakes that ended up costing them the game. The first was a boneheaded safety. The second was an inexcusable decision to chuck the ball up deep to Gronkowski. Total lack of discipline and poor judgment. Plain and simple, he got nervous. i.e., he choked. That's not even including the bad pass he threw to Welker. YES it was catchable. YES it should have been caught, so Welker is to blame as well. But that 's beside the point and doesn't explain why Brady threw a bad pass to a wide open receiver. If thrown correctly, that's an automatic first down and more. Brady could not make an accurate throw when it mattered.
Sorry fools, Brady is not a big game QB. He can't cut it when the game lies on his shoulders. That's been thoroughly PROVEN over the last five+ seasons.

Once you win 3 Super Bowls your legacy is complete. There are only 4 QBs who have done it. It's a fairly exclusive club.
Brady make a mistake on his throw that was ruled a safety. He was still in the pocket so he couldn't throw it out of bounds, had he tried to go to a receiver in the flat it would most likely have been a pick-6, so he tossed it down the field where nobody could get it figuring that the refs usually give QBs the benefit of the doubt on throws like that. No big deal, it could have been worse. And he still brought his team back from that to be up 17-9 in the 3rd.
Brady wasn't sure how Gronkowski could run deep on his ankle and took a little off the throw trying to gauge where he would be. It's tough to time a receiver who hadn't practiced in 2 weeks. Gronkowski was clearly not himself out there. He couldn't even land on that ankle coming down from trying to make that catch.
Brady still had his team in position to close out the game up by 2 points driving deep into his opponents territory with a little over 3 minutes to play. He threw consecutive catchable balls to receivers that dropped them. I can tell you as someone who played receiver(high school and college - lot's of twisting and diving for balls thrown by inaccurate HS QBs) that if you get 2 hands on the ball and nobody knocks it away that it's completely your fault if you don't catch it. No excuses. Welker and Branch did this back-to-back. That's not the QB's fault even if the throws were a little off target. Don't forget Hernandez's drop on the next drive of a pass that hit him in the numbers.
The real story here is Brady's play before and after he got hit and landed on his injured shoulder. I think he re-injured it and I wouldn't be surprised if he needs surgery. He was 20 for 23 with 16 straight completions and a 141 QB rating just before he got hit. The Patriot's training staff was all over him on the sideline and you could see him trying to work his shoulder in the socket before he went back out. That would account for being slightly inaccurate(we're talking only being off 6-8" on the throws in question) for the rest of the game.
Don't ever let the facts get in the way of your arguments. Instead of pretending you know anything about the game and then trying to make a point using part of an article by some low level reporter who is trying to make a name for themselves, why don't you go and read this and then get back to us:

I could accept that if the Pats fags didn't give Brady so much credit for winning three Super Bowls. I don't understand why, when they win, it's Brady leading them to victory. When they lose, it's a team effort. Sorry, but they can't have it both ways. If you say Brady won three Super Bowls, you must also say he LOST two.MurrayFiend wrote:Stupid article, Brady played fine for the most part. Giants were just better, straight up.

You only pin a loss on a QB if he played terribly or if he did something like toss a Pick-6 when he should have been driving his team for the winning score.poizond13 wrote:I could accept that if the Pats fags didn't give Brady so much credit for winning three Super Bowls. But a QB gets credit for winning when he orchestrates the winning drive at the end of the game seeing how he called the plays, made the reads, and made the throws.
Seriously, go read Football 101. You know jack shit about the game.

That's exactly what she's doing. Does anyone think the Colts win against a Grossman led Bears if Chico Rivera doesn't go into the prevent in the second quarter and Daniel Manning doesn't fall down on the Wayne touchdown?MurrayFiend wrote:In a way aren't you just doing the opposite of the 'Cheatriots' fans you so despise, giving him little to no credit for their successes but placing all the blame for their failures upon his shoulders?
