Jets extend Sanchez 3yrs/40.5mil.
That's 2 teams out of the Manning sweepstakes.

I don't see John Riggins or Art Monk taking the field for the Skins, so there is no fear from Dallas Cowboy fans now that the Skins have their sights set on RG3 to lead them.Crazy Levi wrote:I can smell your fear.Machado wrote:As a Dallas fan, I look forward to the opportunity of making sure the Redskins give away 2 wins a year to Dallas now that RG3 will be taking the snaps.NeverSurrender wrote:Dear redskins,

Cam Newton played very well as a rookie.
1 year later the Skins feel they can also be fortunate. I don't think so!!

Machado - you are "happy" to be facing RG3 now, rather than Rex Grossman?
hey, good for you, hope that works out.
By the way, we both got fucked in a big way by the NFL today. Holy fucking shit....
They are talking about taking $10 million in cap space from the Cowboys and a whopping $36 million from the Skins. Hoo boy.
Cowboys are $4 million under the cap currently. Good luck with that. Skins are $31 million under. NFL is saying the hit can be split over two years. Either way the Cowboys are completely dead in the water in Free Agency tomorrow without massive cuts. Skins are fucked too but at least can still get involved.

I read about the salary cap situation.
Dallas was already planning to rework several player contracts.
I guess the lawyers and accountants in Dallas are going to earn their pay right about now.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
BroncoTalk.net has learned through multiple sources that the Denver Broncos will target the following players in free agency –
RB Mike Tolbert.
Tolbert is coming off of a big season in San Diego (eight rushing touchdowns) but is not expected to re-sign with the Chargers. The Broncos’ backfield would instantly improve with the acquisition of Tolbert.
NT Paul Soliai.
The Broncos — and several other teams — have expressed interest in Soliai, who started in twelve games last season. If the Broncos are able to re-sign Brodrick Bunkley and then bring in Soliai, the interior of their defensive line will be fantastically improved from last season.
DB Reggie Nelson.
Nelson is a former first round draft pick who is coming off of a good season with the Bengals. Safety is a good area of need for the Broncos and the team will be targeting Nelson as well as Dwight Lowery.

Finally some good news out of Dallas:
Cowboys have released T. Newman.
Easily the worst CB on the team last year. Easily the worst tackling CB in the entire league. If anybody else was worse, that CB must have had only 1 arm.

The Miami Dolphins have traded receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for two third-round picks, according to league sources.

Actually, it had been reported Manning doesn't LIKE Marshall. This could be seen as a plus. Especially if they promise to bring Reggie Wayne in as well.MurrayFiend wrote:Guess they're not seeing themselves as favourites for Manning?Tommy wrote:The Miami Dolphins have traded receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for two third-round picks, according to league sources.

And Colts WR Pierre Garcon signs with the WASHINGTON REDSKINS.
Thanks Colts! A young and talented receiver with no character issues? We'll take him. He had his best season ever last year...imagine how he'll do with RG3 instead of Curtis Painter!
Fun watching the Colts' carcass get picked clean this year. He's got a special message for ya P13...
"Pierre Garçon
I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news... I will be signing with the Washington Redskins and I'm very excited about the opportunity in front of me.
I want to thank all Colts fans from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you've shown me the past 4 years and I hope that at some level u will still follow my career, as I will continue to share my life with you on here..."

I liked Garcon, but over $8 million per year, $21M guaranteed? HAHAHA, you guys got ripped off. The consensus among Colts fans is, we're sad to see him go, but $8M is way too much money for a WR of his caliber. He has good speed but is an average route runner and drops WAY too many easy catches. His focus has come in question several times over his Colts career. Nonetheless, I wish him the best. But yeah, in typical Redskins fashion, they overpayed.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
The Colts would have loved to have kept him - you know it - but fact is they are going complete rebuild.
Garcon is entering his prime. The Redskins need a young receiver like that to grow with RG3 - I think it was a good move, and they didn't overpay. He's a top receiver and that's the going rate.
I was afraid they'd chase after Vincent Jackson, and I'm thrilled they went with Garcon instead.
But seriously...who is LEFT on the Colts? Are they even going to be able to field a team?

REGGIE WAYNE IS COMING BACK HOME!
Would much rather have Reggie Wayne than Garcon!!! He's a little older and not as fast, but a much better route runner and far more reliable! Welcome back home REGGIE!!!!!!

Yeah, cause every rebuilding team needs a 35-year old receiver.
Actually, I was kind of hoping he'd go wherever Manning went, seemed like a natural thing.
poizond13 wrote: Garcon showed his speed and the true potential he has to be an elite receiver in this league
Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. He's gonna be a top 5 WR in a year or so, with RG3 throwing him the ball.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
He's 33 you idiot. And he had a solid season last year and posted more yards than your savior, Garcon. Reggie is a reliable veteran who will work well with Luck. He's still got great hands and is an incredible route runner. Two things that Garcon lacks. Garcon is 7th in the league in drops since he came into the league. Luck needed a solid, reliable guy like Reggie to work with. Pierre Garcon is fast as hell but guys like that are a dime dozen. We'll pick one up in the draft.Crazy Levi wrote:![]()

I've watched every game Garcon has played in. He has blazing speed. He doesn't have great hands. He is not a great route runner. So far, he's a one dimensional player. NOT a #1 receiver, yet. You won't find too many people that don't agree that the Skins' overpaid.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
My biggest fear was that the Skins would go after an aging and overpaid WR like Wayne or Vjax.
I'm THRILLED that the Skins went for Garcon. He's only 25 and is entering his prime, unlike 33-year old Wayne who is well past it.
The Skins have had 2 excellent offseasons in a row and for the first time in a long time they are on the way back.
RG3 to Garcon is going to become an institution in this league.
By the time the Colts get rolling again, Wayne will be retired. Still, nice to keep him around for sentimental reasons I guess. Seems like he'd be better off finishing his career with a winner though.
LOL at Wayne is "a little older" than Garcon. He's thirty fucking three - 8 years older!! Many NFL careers don't even last that long.
You really have lost it Greggie.
