Elway has clearly had enough of the Tebow Circus.

The guy is a Hall of Famer, one of the greatest QBs ever, and he's had to watch this idiot sideshow act take over his beloved team.

If Manning is in, I would think Tebow is out. As in cut or traded for a 6th rounder.

Mayock just mentioned on ESPN that if the Broncos were to sign Manning, the first thing they should do is offer Mike Wallace a ton of of money and give up that 1st round pick since he is a restricted free agent.

Interesting segment by Maylock on NFL Network. Suggests that all reports say that Manning looks good in short workouts, but question remains about whether he can still hold up after fatigue sets in. People serious about signing him should want to see a "pro-day" type workout.

Assuming he works out, Maylock suggests Broncos go after Mike Wallace (RFA) who would cost them their 1st round pick (but only #25 overall). Plus Dallas Clark.

Healthy Manning throwing to Wallace, Thomas, Decker and Clark, could put up some serious points.

RT @jnsanchez: Sources say that, if Denver lands Peyton Manning, they will part ways with their first-round pick for Mike Wallace.

I'm having a hard time understanding why people think this is a low offer. If it's a $30 million guaranteed contract, and he plays for two years, he'll bank $42 million dollars. That's not bad for two years worth of work.

Year 1: $36 million ($30 million plus $6 million)
Year 2: $42 million
Year 3: $48 million
Year 4: $54 million
Year 5: $60 million

Where are people getting the idea that this is low ball? He's only going to see year 3 in this contract anyway. That's $16 million a year. Not bad at all.

Now they're saying that Manning already worked out and underwent physical for the 49ers on Tuesday.

That has to be scaring the shit out of the rest of the NFC. All the other teams in the hunt for Manning would be competitive, but Manning in San Fran has Super Bowl written all over it.

You really think so? If, and it's a big if, he can still play at the level he did before the neck thing, he should still have tons of game left. He's not washed up old dude like Farve was.

For me, the wierd thing about many of the suitors is that they have a good thing going. The 49ers for example were great last year. Even the Cardinals put together a great second half of their season, and still have 2 QBs. They are giving up on Kolb and Skelton already?

Team chemistry is a fragile thing. I'm not saying Manning is gonna be Namath in LA, but it wouldn't surprise me if this shit just doesn't work out. And yeah, I think his injury is a huge concern, and his layoff. He really might not be the same guy at 36, in a new environment, and who knows about his confidence either.

I think the best spot for him is Tennesee. He'd be "going back home," and starting fresh in a spot that really doesn't have a QB or any momentum.

I have a real "be careful what you wish for" feeling about the Cards and the 49ers in particular.

note- will be interesting to see what happens with Kolb at 4pm today.

Denver has Tebow. I don't know about you, but I don't think there is much chance of that guy ever being a truly viable NFL QB. Tenn has a young Locker, but they don't think he's ready yet and Manning would be a huge upgrade over Hasslebeck. I don't even know who Miami has at QB anymore. The Niners won in spite of Smith more than they did because of him. That team is on the cusp of being REALLY good, but an upgrade at the QB position may be needed to get them over the hump IMO. I think the jury is still out on Kolb, so I agree that Manning going there might do more harm than good, but other than that, and with the caveat that his health is of course a huge question mark, I think Manning could potentially really help any of those teams. Personally, I really, really hope he doesn't end up in Tennessee. It won't break my heart one bit to have that guy out of my team's division.

He'll end up either a Titan or 49er.

This looks like fun. Let me try:

Fool. Peyton is staying with the Colts. Mr. Irsay told me personally while I was receiving my weekly bukkake bath on the team plane. And since you don't have warm jizz all over your face, you obviously know nothing about football.

Let's go Blue Nation! A quart of semen does wonders for your complexion. FACT!!!!!!!

Alex Smith visiting the Dolphins today

Alex Smith is tired of waiting around for the 49ers to learn whether they’ve won the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. So Smith is looking elsewhere.

Smith will visit the Dolphins today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

After having his best year as a pro and leading the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game last season, it appeared that Smith was going to be in San Francisco for the long haul. But Smith is an unrestricted free agent and hasn’t worked out a deal with the 49ers yet, because the 49ers are making Manning their top priority. That puts Smith in a tough position.

So it makes sense for Smith to stop waiting and start looking around for another team. The Dolphins, who want to sign a starting quarterback and were spurned by Manning, could make sense for Smith, especially if free agent quarterback Matt Flynn picks the Seahawks over the Dolphins.

The 49ers spent the first overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft on Smith, and he has spent his entire career there. In 2011 Smith started all 16 games and had career highs in passing yards (3,144) and passer rating (90.7) while throwing just five interceptions.

And now the pressure is on the 49ers to get something done at the quarterback position: If Smith signs with the Dolphins, and Manning chooses the Broncos or Titans, last season’s NFC runner ups will have a major question mark at quarterback.

PS-Smith is represented by the same agent as
Manning (and is rumored to be contemplating leaving that agency BTW).....if some people are unable read those tea leaves then they are just not very keen to begin with........

Tom Condon is doing this to drive up prices, Alex Smith visits Miami to drive up the offer San Francisco extended him , then Tennesse and Denver up the ante in a panic that Peyton Manning is going to 49'ers.

It's brilliant , and it tells me one thing, Peyton is at a deadlock and is going with the highest bidder, so pony up Xanders, Denver is still in this!

John Elway’s quest to move on from Tim Tebow may not end with Peyton Manning.

In fact, as Mike Klis of the Denver Post points out, if Manning picks the Titans or 49ers, and Matt Hasselbeck, Alex Smith or Matt Flynn becomes the odd man out, it’s entirely possible that Hasselbeck or Smith would then become the Broncos’ next targets.

The problem is that most free agent quarterbacks aren’t going to want to step into a situation where they’re viewed by the Tebowmaniacs in Denver as the guy who was brought in to push Tebow out. PFT’s Mike Florio has heard that the Broncos looked into the possibility of signing Matt Flynn, but Flynn wanted nothing to do with the no-win situation that is replacing Tebow in Denver, or competing with him in training camp.

Hasselbeck or Smith, however, may find themselves without any better option if Manning chooses the Titans or 49ers. The chance to start in Denver is better than no chance to start anywhere.

Klis suggests that the Broncos also could decide to draft Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden, in another effort to find someone who could push Tebow aside. Drafting the 28-year-old Weeden is a move that a team would make if it thinks Weeden can start right away, and the Broncos may think Weeden is better than Tebow right now.

I don't think Manning is a good fit for Denver. He's clearly not suited to the offensive scheme they run with the whole quarterback run option. He's going to land in Tennessee.

That's a dumbed down offense for Tebow. Wherever Manning goes HE is the Offensive Coordinator.

If he signs with the Broncos I have 2 questions.

1. What's SF going to do now that they've pissed off Smith and he's talking to other teams?

2. Is Tebow gone? Quinn is gone, but Tebow can't run a traditional offense.
