I'm fascinated by Syracuse's zone. Wisconsin nearly cracked it by becoming rec league chuckers.NeverSurrender wrote:Tenacious_Dio wrote:And there goes my bracket. Thanks for playing, Wisconsin and Michigan State.
That Wisconsin - SU game was one of the best games I've seen in the last couple seasons. I take it as a good sign Wisconsin hit 14 -27 from 3 point land, and SU still won. That's rare. AT one point they were like 12 of 17 or something crazy like that.

Re: 2012 NCAA tourney thread.....
I played basketball growing up 45 minutes from Syracuse and every team i played for played the 2 - 3 and nothing else. In 3 seasons i bet I played man to man less than 20 total minutes. That zone is Syracuse. When they won the tiltle they won it by having a bunch of long armed lanky forwards who could get outide and disrupt those 3s with their wingspans.

The worst part about that is Jimmy B getting teed up for yelling at the refs telling them that they were doing a shitty job. He should have been yelling at his players for missing painfully easy shots and not rebounding.NeverSurrender wrote:Fuck sports.
Syracuse is one of the best teams ever at getting beaten by teams they should be running away from.

Look at the shot chart. Syracuse were painfully bad close to the basket.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:The worst part about that is Jimmy B getting teed up for yelling at the refs telling them that they were doing a shitty job. The refs ruined the OSU/Syracuse game for both teams. There was no flow and some of the fouls (both ways) were laughable.
There was an inadvertent whistle that stopped play because they were anticipating the need to make a call.

They are the one team i cheer for that actually has a chance now and then. I knew something would fuck that up. I'm not sure the Bernie Fine thing is anything wrong, at least anyhing like Penn ST's. The drug test shit will be though. I'm starting to wonder if somebody on the inside wants Jimmy B gone.

I have no idea why the 2 schools cant get together and keep the rivalry alive. It's a lot of fun for both fan bases even though Mizzou gets the loss more times than not. I would have thought that at least the football rivalry would continue considering the money it brings in for both schools.
Congrats on a great year.

I know KU won't schedule Mizzou for anything but I don't think it's just KU...I've heard that all the remaining Big XII schools agreed to this. They are ticked at Mizzou leaving and are standing firm against it.Mizzou Misfit wrote:I have no idea why the 2 schools cant get together and keep the rivalry alive. I'd like to see them play. Basketball would be easier because an out of conference loss for either team isn't as big a deal as it is in football.

If Syracuse hits free throw's in the 80s they might have 3 titles.

They still have 11 lacrosse championships, have put 8 NFL players in the hall of fame, including Jim Brown, the greatest player ever and Al Davis. They also can claim Ted Koppel and Bob Costas (and many other members of sports media). And I won't go into dteail about Jimmy B's 20 win season streak or how they've never missed the postseason under him.Skate4RnR wrote:Kansas fans are proud to be a part of 'Cuses one and only men's b-ball championship...pretty impressive really.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:Hey neversurrender,do you remember Kansas in 2003? My alma mater has won like 35 wrestling championships and nothing else. WHOOPDEDOO! I'd punch a toddler if Iowa football ever became something. Their basketball team made it to the final eight before blowing a 22 point second half lead to UNLV in 1987. Fuck you Gerald Paddio.NeverSurrender wrote:They still have 11 lacrosse championships, have put 8 NFL players in the hall of fame, including Jim Brown, the greatest player ever and Al Davis.Skate4RnR wrote:Kansas fans are proud to be a part of 'Cuses one and only men's b-ball championship...pretty impressive really.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:Hey neversurrender,do you remember Kansas in 2003? Hey, you got Danny Manning.
What is Lacrosse?
We also boast INVENTOR OF BASKETBALL James Naismith, Don Johnson, Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle, Bob Dole, Dean Smith (MORE BASKETBALL), Gale Sayers...I don't need to go on. Any large school like Kansas n' 'Cuse can boast famous alumni.
Roy left, Self came. Self defeated Williams the second time the other night, we love Roy but don't miss him much. They've only played each other two times, Self is the better coach.
This hallowed place is where the creator of the greatest game in the world brought it and nurtured it until it became what it is today. If you thank God for basketball, thank Kansas first. We don't play that French game shit. We don't do shit in anything except basketball, it's all we know and all we love. Div. II schools kick our asses at all kinds of shit but not basketball.
Be proud that you took out one of the four giants to get that one basketball championship, it's something to be proud of!
Is there anything else that needs to be addressed?

And I'm not really sure what Lacrosse is.
