Adios, Shittsburgh. This young Flyers team will be your nightmare for years to come. 8)
Now...just hoping the Rangers lose to The Sens.

This is two straight years Pittsburgh is out in the first round.

When Mario stops crying, (well, I know that won't happen) some heads might roll.

Who's? Bylsma is a good coach. Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Letang, Neal aren't going anywhere - though I guess Shero can get creative and try and secure a stud defenseman for a Neal or Staal. To me the enigma is Fleury. He had a good enough season to merit being part of the team, but if he can't do it in the playoffs (a la Luongo), do the Pens need to look elsewhere? If so, where? Fleury has a better pedigree than most, including a cup ring.

IMO the Pens need to get healthy. Toughen up mentally, mature, and come back stronger.

I think Bylsma is good too, but they need to fix their blueline and their goalie. I think their offensive firepower has hidden this weakness in the regular season.

If I'm them, I make a run at Weber or Suter, by clearing some $ from the forwards. Fleury will be fine with a better defence in front of him. They have the offensive d-man covered, now they need a defensive anchor.

Not all Canadian's just cheer for the Canadian teams. I have been a Rangers fan ever since Messier picked them as the next team he was going to lead to the Cup. And as I fucking hate Vancouver, it doesn't bother me at all that they never bought into his leadership. Serves the stupid pricks right. :D

It would be sort of amusing to see Bettman presenting the cup in Glendale. Notice the full houses out there? And Florida for that matter. Winning brings out the fans.

B's hang on with half a tank. 2 days rest.

C'mon Sens.

No better tournament in sports.

B's are poised to play Ottawa or Florida if they get by Washington. Like last year, their toughest test may be in the 1st round.

Also, I do a lot of business in Quebec City and people "in the know" seem to feel the Coyotes will be there next year. They say it's done but won't be announced while the 'Yotes are still playing. I'm not so sure about next year, but it will happen I think.

Florida fans are arguably the most fickle of all fans in North America.

Although I went to a game in December and the place was 95% sold. Very few empty seats. it was against an original 6 team so that helps.

And yeah a team winning does bring in more fans. That's pretty well known.

don't count Seattle out of that sweepstakes. They are trying to get a new arena deal done yesterday to get the Kings from the NBA; it would make it a lot easier sell if they had an NHL team also.

The problem with Florida sports is not the fans are fickle, the fans are all from somewhere else and already have a team. Plenty of sports fans, just not of their teams. The bandwagon jumpers are in every city.

Btw...just want to point out that Fleury was outplayed by Bryz (even though, until today at least, he didn't look great either) as I stated earlier in the thread.

Fucking hell.

I postponed my hockey game tonight for this garbage. The Canucks need to make some serious moves in the summer. GM Mike Gillis must be on the hot seat for poor moves

-Raymond GONE (fucking horrible player that has absolutely no balls)

-Luongo has to be sent packing. I'm not blaming this on him, but I think his time is up and it's time for Cory to take over. Trade Lu for pretty much whatever. Tampa is the most likely destination

-Move Kesler to the wing, and bring in a legitimate second line centre. Oh wait, they HAD one in Cody Hodgson. Terrible god damn trade moving Hodgson out for Kassian who did zilch

-Related to the previous note, CONSIDER trading Kesler. His value is still high, but he had a garbage year and has turned into an extremely predictable player

-Do NOT resign Edler until at least halfway through next year. The guy is mentally fragile and played like horse shit in the playoffs

-Do something about Malhotra. Yeah, I feel bad for his eye and everything, but the guy is crap outside of taking faceoffs. Seriously, what else does he do?

That's just a start right there

luongo was the best player on the team after the month of october.

here's what's gonna happen....

cory will get an offer sheet of 3.5. unless toronto goes for 5.

the canucks will match the salary and keep both guys until 20 or 30 games in.

the canucks can also sign him beforehand for 3.5 and i think he might take it with the promise he's going to split starts until luongo can be traded.

Yup. When a team averages 4+ goals per game, and still loses a playoff series, you gotta take a serious look at the back end. I look for the Pens to go after that defensive stalwart d-man they seem to be lacking. Fleury was horseshit, but doesn't get much help.

The Coyotes WILL be in Quebec City next year.

Not only are they getting a new arena, the Government has loaned the potential ownership group funds to MAKE UPGRADES TO THE COLISEE THIS SUMMER.Why put millions into a rink when you're getting a new one? Much like the ownership group in Winnipeg last year, the Quebec group has been told to not say anything or else the deal is off the table.

Outside of Wolf,I'm sure none of you have been to the Colisee. There's literally 3 washrooms in the entire place, major upgrades would be needed to host NHL hockey in the 21st century, even if only for a couple of seasons.

Nice to see New Brunswicker Couturier perform well this post season. With Jake Allen getting tv face time as a back up in St.Louis and John Stevens behind the bench in L.A. my little province is quite well represented this playoffs.

That being said, The Flyers need to figure out what's up with Pronger and get a stud-Defenseman in to replace him if he can't continue. We kinda got fucked too in this series when Malkin/Kennedy combined their cheap shots to take out our solid new addition at D, Grossman. Bryz certainly got hung out to dry quite a bit as well.
