Schenn,defensive help????????????? In the WHL,yes.-As a pro,ummm,not so much.

Schenn has been,IMO,a huge flop.He can't accelerate nor turn like a professional hockey player should. He constantly loses battles for loose pucks. One of the league leaders in hits, yes, but in so doing often takes himself out of the play as well, leading to odd man rushes. There is a chance he can improve, but I wouldn't expect much.

The fact that Burke was willing to take a busted JVR is all we need to know of Schenn's time in T.O.
Again, I'll wait and see (not like I have much choice  ) But as of right now, we need defensemen.

Sakic is a lock and the big star of this year's class. The other three I'd like to be are Housley, Andreychuk and Bure. Shanny, JR and Sundin can wait at least one more year.

Sakic is a lock. Shanny deserves inclusion and his job with the NHL will assure entry this year.Seeing as how the hoF and it's induction ceremonies take place in Toronto, look for Sundin to get the nod as well. Bure should get the 4th spot, but there seems to be a prejudice against him based on his short career.Hopefully the voters get over this and realize what a pure goal scorer he was.

Just saw the list for next year.

Chelios, Niedermayer, Blake, and Shanny should be locks.

Well Wolf, your dream of Crosby signing with Montreal as an UFA next summer just got snuffed out.He just resigned with the Pens- 12 years/104 million, same $8.7 Million cap hit.

Tough call-he is a hit away from being a Lindros, but do you allow him to get away and possibly have a great career somewhere else?

This also might throw a wrench in Malkin negotiations.I expect him to want more than what Sid is making, especially if he has another banner year next season.Shero would like to get something done before Fehr and Bettman throw dirt in each other's eyes, but I expect Geno will behappy to play out and test the free agency waters.

Oh well, that money is all wrapped up in Scott Gomez anyways...

Maybe "The Kid" will do a farewell tour with us when he's 40.

There are a few I can't see why they'd get in the HOF, but the biggest is Lindros. Why does deserve a HOF nod, unless it's for being at the end of a devastating Scott Stevens hit.

Rumor has it Price is about to sign with Habs for 6-7 years - probably at a cap hit of about 6.5 million/per.

Too much for the little he's accomplished so far, but on par given his potential, and what others are signing for.

It's almost a lock Gomez goes to Hamilton if this happens.

Similar to the Habs with Price - the Canucks are paying for potential. In my mind, Schneider's a stud and worth it. If I were them I would have kept the deal hush-hush though, because it hurts their ability to deal Luongo - or at least their return.

Before Gillis was asking for a top 6 forward and a prospect. Now I think he won't get more than a prospect for someone taking the contract. The list of teams needing a goalie is dwindling, and with Schneider signed to that deal, Luongo HAS to go.

Wolf, don't worry, Wang and Snow will take Gomez off your hands when they can't reach the cap floor after free agency ends.

It's coming, and Isles nation is set to explode.

I really hope Florida don't take him.

They are starting to build something down there and the last thing they need is a crazy 10 year contract for a goalie.

unless gillis gets the right deal expect luongo to be at training camp unless he needs to make cap room. makes more sense to hold on to him until the right deal comes along and split the stars 50/50.

I'm always skeptical with these things. Leafs thought they were getting a star with Tyler Bozak. Everyone was going ga-ga over Fabian Brunstrom... and look at how that worked out. D is a different position, and I'm sure the kid will be solid, but I wouldn't plan the parade route yet.

Still think the Oilers should have traded down in the draft. Picked up a good, young, NHL d-man, and then drafted one of the stud d-men available. Imagine if they signed Schultz, drafted Dumba, and acquired a good young d-man in the trade for the #1 pick.

I was on the fence about that draft, Oilers need D, no question there, but Yakupov was the BPA, hard to pass on that sort of skill, Murray was the guy I thought they were taking for sure, I'm not disappointed with Yak though, I would love for them to land a guy like Suter as well, but that isn't gonna happen.
