Nah,
he does that when he squares off with another all the time.
Take a look at the first fight & when ref is giving instructions
he's doing the same.
I thought Silva looked stupid trying to be a bad ass. He doesnt
need to act like one, because he already is.
Sonnen had some funny comments during press conference.
I got so annoyed by having to have a translator there.
This fight is going to be interesting. I might pay full price for it!
I'm definitely going to watch the weigh in.

Speaking of UFC ringside girls-
I noticed Chantella or whatever the black girl's
name is has disappeared since her kinda porn past
came back to bite her in the ass. UFC has got to
have sexy girls, but its gotta be tasteful.

I dunno, man. He usually doesn't look straight at his opponent when he stares down, but it seemed different this time, he seemed relieved when the staredown was over. I agree that Spider doesn't need to act tough because he is tough, but if someone said the things that Chael said to me, I'd be up in their face, too.

Maybe he's not "trying to be a bad ass" per se, maybe he's just trying to keep himself from breaking his arms right then and there.

Sonnen is no dummy and ignored him on purpose.
He is anything but scared of Silva.
Why would he be nervous or scared? He beat his
ass the last time.

It's unbelievable how choking someone for more than a few seconds can cause way more damage than pitter patter punches for almost 25 minutes.

Today's weigh in-
Anderson Silva is sure trying to push Sonnen's button.
It aint working.
Supposedly Steven Segal has taught Silva 2 or 3 things
for tomorrow's fight.
What was crazy was Sonnen was 20 pounds over limit
yesterday, and his trainer was like no big deal he will make it.
Today Sonnen steps on the scale, makes weight no problems whatsoever.
Joe Rogan looks stupid with a shaved head.

Funny how people see shit differently. Silva was trying to push his buttons? Looks like he's just fed up with Chael's shit to me. Sonnen always comes off as a dickhead..pulling the WWE "Heel" bullshit.
I hope dropping all that weight last minute comes back to bite him in the ass.

So, he does it during a face off when the fighters are supposed to be professional?
Same as the press conference the other day.
And the weight drop? Wont affect him at all. His guy has a great track record for getting fighters at weight with no problems. Watch the interview with Ariel (spelling) & the guy gives a list of fighters that he works with.
Its obvious you dont like Sonnen, so call it what it is.

Yeah, I think I made that clear. The guy is a classless asshole and now he's getting it back a bit for going a bit over the line talking about a man's wife/family...real pro move/class act there too, no??? So...YOU call it what it is.
Ad bullshit...people do that shit all the time at weigh-in/faceoff. As a matter of fact, at least two other fighters did almost the same shit at the same weigh in. Dana likes that shit.

Sonnen had to do what he had to do to get a rematch.
Throw a shoulder into another fighter's face? I think not.
We will see tomorrow how it all plays out. I just hope neither
fighter gets cut & fight has to be stopped because of that.
A knockout, submission, or a grind it out ending will be fine by me.
Anyways,

Different angle of shoulder to face shot-

After seeing this angle it was a bitch ass move.

So is running your mouth about a fighter's wife/family, etc.
Also, it wasn't like it was some hard "shot" either. Dude's a pro fighter for christ's sake. Oh noes! The tragedy.
Sonnen's an admitted dick who wanted to provoke Silva...and he has.
Just know I'm looking forward to the fight. Let 'em settle it the proper way.

Funny comment on the lip page though:

"Really didn’t get full power behind the shoulder strike, although it could just be a set-up for a purple-nurple later in the weigh-in or an Indian burn submission."

I don't really get why people have a hard time understanding the concept of "selling a fight. "Throughout the history of boxing this has been going on. Go back and listen to Ali's promo's. Did people think that Tyson really wanted to eat Lennox Lewis' children? Go back and watch the interview with Tyson after that fight, he was very respectful towards Lennox and his mother. Most people didn't know that Tyson and Lewis trained together with Cus when they were kids. Tyson knew Lennox's mother very well. He did what he did to sell that fight because he knew it was his last big fight and he would most likely lose(although a little craziness may have slipped through lol).

The issue is that in order to get people beyond boxing or MMA fans there needs to be real or perceived animosity between opponents, this is true in all sports IMO. you can think that it is wrong and has no place in the sport but it is the way things are. The Lesnar vs Mir fight was so huge because of all the shit talking they engaged in prior to the fight. In combat sports, the general public is not really interested in opponents being respectful prior to a fight. Mayweather became huge when he did the 24/7 series and he engaged in all the shit talk against De Lahoya and people got to see the disfunctionality of his family. They want to see people go at each other prior to the fight, put on a good show, and then after the fight show respect.

In regards to Chael, he HAD to say all that shit to first get Anderson to agree fight and second to sell tickets and make it the biggest fight ever. Anderson DID NOT want to fight Chael at all. When Dana went down to Brazil for the press conference, he had to spend three hours convincing Silva to take the fight. There was an interview with Vinnie Maghaeles on Maruo's discussing how he as Brazilian agreed to train Sonnen. He said he spoke with Sonnen regarding all the trash talk. Sonnen stated he had to sell 80,000 seats at a stadium (this was when it was intially scheduled for Brazil). I don't necessarily agree with talking shit about someone's family, but a fdew years donw the road Silva will be grateful for Sonnen making this one of the biggest fights ever.

Oh, no...I get it, but I'm just stating the reason I believe that Silva wants to fuck him up and hates his ass enough to stoop to the level of shouldering him in his chops at the weigh-in, etc.
As far as "trash talking" in general, it's NEVER appealed to me in sports (except the old school WWF, NWA and ECW  ) Hated when Ali did it, hate when Mayweather does it and I hate when Sonnen turns on the WWE shtick and does it. Let the fight speak for you. It might be what sells to the masses, but I hope MMA doesn't go down that road. Maybe they can plot out storylnes in advance for the next fight, or pre-determine the winners too. :P

Let the fight speak for you
So is that why Silva gave him a shoulder at the weigh in?
That's logic!
On his own Silva doesnt sell fights. For being the greatest
mma fighter his fights dont sell well. If it wasnt for Sonnen,
the # of ppv buys would be above average at best.
Like Eddievanheineken (spelling) wrote, he can thank Sonnen
for that.

I was talking about both (and all) fighters. So, pipe down.
Not once did I say that I thought it was right what Silva did, but all the nancys crying about it need to expect that sort of thing since it's what Sonnen was trying to provoke and to get in Silva's head.
Well, he's got it. Now, let's have the fight.

Also, I totally forgot about the "oh so noble" Chael trying to say he didn't tap in the first fight. Then he later says "I don't remember tapping"
Fuck that guy. Spoiler alert: He lost.

I don't see either one tapping. I think it's either going the distance or KO/TKO.

The rest of the card is pretty lame, imo.

I agree with you on the rest of the card.
75% of the blogs I've been reading have Silva winning.
When they predict the undercard fights, 90% are saying
"winner by decision". Jeez, I hope not. I dont want to sit
through 10 wbd fights waiting for the main event.

No shit...ugh.
Anyway, hope we all can enjoy a great fight tonight despite our differing opinions on the shit talking, etc.

Ok, where is everyone with no scroupels or extra cash watching this online at?

I like Silva to an extent, but truthfully, his defenses have been great, but he just doesnt impress me as much as he probably should. Hes a hell of a fighter no doubt, and will go down in the book as probably the greatest MMA champ in a single division. So, to me, its time for him to either go up a weight class, or someone in this weight class to move him out...

And so far, Chael is the only guy who has any measure of what it takes to do that.. Their first fight was epic, and it clearly showed that Silva is human and does in fact have weaknesses...but it also showed that he is still dangerous, and possibly more so, when he has been taxed for 23 minutes!

I want to see Chael win, if for no other reason than to see Silva have to go back out into the weight class and work back to a rematch...

Chael stole a round, then got caught, just like everytime he steals. Lulz are you fucking kidding me, after that knee to the chest it was over for.

Cung Le, good job for an old actor, would have loved to see him compete im mma whe he was young, I bet he could have dominated the shit out of everyone in those days.

Forrest is kind of a loon, the hell was that? Funny shit how he ruined Tito's post fight interview with Rogan.
