TAMPA, Fla. — The Republican establishment has quelled the Ron Paul Revolution, at least for 2012.

Using a mix of charm and procedural hardball, Mitt Romney’s campaign and his allies who control the Republican National Committee have ensured that the Texas congressman will neither speak nor be formally nominated at next week’s convention. It’s a significant victory for Romney, who could have been faced with a raucous rebellion from the Paul crowd if he hadn’t extended an early, and diplomatic, olive branch to what’s become a key constituency.

The libertarian septuagenarian controls the state delegations from Nevada, Iowa and Minnesota. But a candidate needs five states to be officially recognized on the floor. Paul supporters have made claims to Louisiana, Massachusetts, Oregon, Oklahoma and Maine. But Romney’s coterie of lawyers skillfully used the rules and interpersonal negotiations to peel each away.

Ron Paul has 7 plurality states won. Now that the RNC changed has their own rules to suit their own needs and made the criteria 8 plurality states won instead of 5 plurality states won in order to be accepted to the Republican Convention, this definitely shows, without a doubt, democracy is almost over in the US. So if Paul has been wronged so much, and there's so much overwhelming evidence of fraud and wrongdoing by the party, why isn't Paul screaming from the mountaintops about it, or threatening litigation, or at the very least, telling the Republican Party to go fuck themselves and running for either the President or his seat in congress as an independent?

I would think several words on the subject from the man himself would go a lot farther toward making some changes to that system than hundreds of his followers making asses of themselves on internet message boards. But no, you never hear a peep from the guy. Why? Because he needs the Republican party and all that sweet, sweet RNC re-election cash much more than the Republicans need him.

First of all, Ron Paul was offered an ultimatum by the RNC a few days ago. The RNC would allow him to speak...but ONLY if he endorsed Romney. RP said, "No!"

Secondly, the reason why Paul doesn't fight back is because he CAN'T. The GOP, RNC and the bias mainstream media RUN THE SHOW, moron. And Ron Paul knows that. Also, he doesn't have the financial means to take them to court. Not to mention the fact that he'd be labelled a "sore loser." Pay attention.

Thirdly, the reason why RP doesn't run as an independent, is that he wouldn't stand a chance. Since 2008, he's not only DOUBLED his support base running as a Republican, but he literally had nearly 20% of the Republican delegates this year.
