Night Shift (1982) - 8/10

Prostitution. But what does that mean really? Sometimes it helps to understand a word if you break it down, so let's do that now shall we? Pros... it doesn't mean anything, you can forget about that... Tit, I think we all know what that means, Tu, two tit and TION of course, from the Latin to shun... to say uh-uh no thank you anyway I don't want it, to push away... it doesn't even belong in this word really.

Hall Pass- 6/10
Just a decent dumb comedy for a couple to watch together, have a laugh or two, then forget it ever existed.

The Thing (2011)- 6/10
I love Carpenter's Thing, and unfortunately this prequel just doesn't stack up. Much of it is rehashed visuals, with all the tension that made the JC's Thing so great removed in place of cheap shock tactics that are too predictable and don't scare. I hate to say these things, and maybe with no foreknowledge of the franchise, I would have felt differently.

The Shootist - 7/10. James Stewart and John Wayne.

I'm not really a western fan, but this one was alright.

Rock of Ages 3/10

You haven't lived til you see Catherine Zeta-Jones singing Hit Me With Your Best Shot while dressed as a church-lady. Or Russell Brand singing Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore to Alec Baldwin. Possesses all the fascination of a bad car accident; you know you shouldn't look, but you do anyway.

Oh, & all the songs they used SUCK.
Where have I to go now that I've gone too far?

Prometheus - 3/5. Visually stunning but really boring. The characters were uninteresting. Charlize Theron seemed grossly underutilized. Fassbender was the only shining light in the film in terms of character. His delivery was dead-on Hal 9000.

The Hunger Games - 4/5. Surprisingly good. Would see it again.

.

Prometheus was great. Best big budget movie of the year. People only say it's boring because there were no aliens running around killing people.

No. It wasn't.
It wasn't boring, it was bullshit.
I still don't even know if like it for anything more than the spectacle and it's ties to the Alien universe.

How was it bullshit? It was probably closer to Alien than any of the sequels since Aliens.

Prometheus (2012) - 8.5/10. Loved it.

Bad Biology (2008) - 4/10. Frank Henenlotter directed the great Frankenhooker, so I gave this one a chance. Lots of tits, lots of orgasms, a little beaver, one monster penis, yet it still was kind of crappy.

Piranah 3DD (2012) - 4/10. Enjoyed the first one a lot, this one...even with the beaver cam premise, not so much.

Sinister - 8/10

I really liked this flick. I love horror movies and this one delivered a lot of shock and jump-y moments. Without giving much away, some of it was difficult to watch b/c of some of the killings.

Pretty much creepy as fuck!

Looper - 9/10

Fucking great flick top to bottom for me. Gordon Levitt has become possibly my favourite actor right now. Go watch this people, it's damn good.

Top 3 movies that came out this year for me are Looper, Prometheus and 21 Jumpstreet.

Safety Not Guaranteed - 9/10. Based on that classified ad meme where the guy wants someone to go back in time with him. Very well done movie.

The Usual Suspects (1995) 8.5 out of 10. A very well done and interesting mystery/action movie. One of the greatest endings ever IMO.

Battleship (2012). 6 out of 10. Should be called Battle Shit. Some decent Alien scenes, but overall pretty corny. They really had to stretch it out too.

After Sex (2007) - 7/10. Segmented movies almost always suck, but this one was good. Taryn Manning steals the show, and I don't even want to bone her as bad as some of the others.

Into the Abyss - 7/10 - Almost as good as the first Paradise lost. The same creeps and the same feelings going through my mind as I was watching this movie.

Alpha Dog - 7/10
Dumbass wannabe gangsters throwing their lives away for a measly $1200.

Emile Hirsche is becoming one of my favorite actors.

Seven Psychopaths - 5/10
Good performances, story starts out well but loses steam halfway through.
Walken and Harrellson saved the movie for me. Without them, it's maybe a 2.

Isn't Abbie Cornish in that one? How big of a role does she have? I'll watch just about anything she's in, she was awesome in stuff like Somersault or Candy. Not to mention naked.
