NHL - Anybody miss it??

Post by Bassmaster1984 »

As a Coyote season ticket holder I can honestly say I don't miss it at all. Life goes on. Anybody out there from "real" hockey hotbeds miss it?

It sucks that we're going to lose a year of Kane and Toews in their absolute prime here.

More time for the bars/nightclubs/stripclubs to see Kane in his "prime".

Baseball playoffs, the height of the football season, and the NBA ready to launch....the NHL had to do something or risk getting buried.

i love the canucks but i don't really give a shit. i rarely go to games any more. the seats i want are over $150 and if you get a stinker of a game it's just wasted money.
i play 2-3 times a week. i get my fix. i don't need to watch it.

Definitely missing it in NJ. Devils destroyed the Flyers in the playoffs last year. Remember???

But in all seriousness, yeah I miss it. At least with the NHL I could stay in on weeknights and enjoy a hockey game.

players gave 3 counters today.

bettman rejected all three. looks like the owners don't want to negotiate.

at least the players took a couple days to look it over.

My alternatives are bleak

MLB - boring
NFL - cannot get into at all
MLS - very poor considering the football standard I'm used to
CFL - same as NFL but less skill

Still follow the premier league but because of the time difference makes it difficult.

And follow international rugby but that is rarely shown.

You don't like minor league hockey or Canadian juniors?

SPHL season starts Friday and I am stoked.

Only got into hockey properly three years ago, and naturally I went to the premier event.

I'll start checking out the minor and junior with the lockout in the NHL happening.

Still thinking I'd like to go see Dartmouth College hockey sometime. Don't think I'd ever get into the NHL.
