Sorry for the radio silence lately... I've been busy! There's a number of things to be revealed over the coming months. Some you may expect, others you may not. Patience, my friends.

Today's news is about my band How To Destroy Angels.
I'm happy to announce we've formally partnered with Columbia Records for our next series of releases. The first of these will be available in November and it's called An Omen EP. As you may have guessed, it's an EP. It contains six songs, some of which are from our full-length LP which is coming early next year.
We are making some videos, we are going to be performing live, and that's all the details I have for now on those matters.

Regarding our decision to sign with Columbia, we've really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams. There's a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace) but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings.

We are all very excited about you checking out the new stuff. Wish I could tell you more, but you know how this works... it would take all the fun out of it!

This band never ceases to amaze me. I LOVE Mariqueen stepping up and rocking lead vocals. Her voice has a very ethereal aspect that blends well with the music. It's also so fun to look for Trent making little pop ups vocally here and there. It makes his moments even more special. AND of course his composing and production skills are out of this world. Nobody can create a more cleaner mix of a song in my opinion. I look forward to the EP and tour!

How To Destroy Angels’ LP Title and Tracklist Accidentally Leaked?

It seems like it was just earlier today that we confirmed the tracklist for How to Destroy Angels‘ upcoming EP An Omen. No, wait, that was today. In case you need a reminder, we had already provided you a leak of that tracklist last month, which ended up matching the EP’s official announcement. Today, still a month before An Omen‘s release, yet another leak has surfaced – this time regarding HTDA’s upcoming full-length LP, which was so far only mentioned by Trent Reznor as “coming early next year.” If a rather careless Last.fm user is to be believed, we may have the full tracklisting and title for the LP.

Earlier this week, a Last.fm user by the name of blank667 (an account which has since been suspended) registered several plays for a number of new tracks by How to Destroy Angels – now going by the name “How to destroy angels_“, for some reason. The tracks included four cuts already present on An Omen, and eight brand new ones – which would fit with Reznor’s description of the LP including “some” of the EP’s songs. After a fan alerted band member Rob Sheridan, most of the information was taken down from Last.fm, but the always-alert folks at fan forum Echoing The Sound had already captured it for the rest of us to see.

Of course, we remind you that this information is still unconfirmed. However, it fits well enough, and it wouldn’t be the first time that a Last.fm user accidentally leaks a tracklist. A quick Google search for the track titles will also have them showing up on more than a few cached pages, which demonstrates how quickly the information spread, and how it was subsequently deleted.

An Omen is set to be released on November 13th, with the tentatively titled Welcome Oblivion following sometime in early 2013. Listen to their first track, Keep It Together, here.

She wasn't absolutely horrible. The only time I've heard serious belting in electronica was with Moby, and I don't like Moby. What's with the whispering though? Britney -- and occasionally, Trent -- are the only ones who can halfway get away with that shit.

Anyway, based on that 'leak', I wouldn't buy the album...but I would bootleg the shit out of it and listen to it on those nights I can't get to sleep.
