Well, I think the Riders season can be called a qualified success. Last season was a nightmare, so 8-10 and a playoff birth is progress. WOLF, you hit the nail on the head with your assessment of that playoff game. In a way, it was a microcosm of the whole season played out in 60 minutes. Flashes of good football, a brainfart at a bad time, and a late collapse. I think we've got some decent young talent, and Durant showed on Sunday that he can play well when the chips are down. We need an upgrade of Canadian talent on defense though, and also a cunuck receiver to step up and take Getzlaf's spot and relegate him to spot duty in spread offence downs...he's not a reliable second or even third receiver anymore. Taman has his work cut out for him in the off season. I give Chamblin an A- for his job this year, and his coordinators get a passing grade as well. The biggest question for me is if they keep Ritchie Hall around. Chamblin inherited him, but it might be hard to cut him loose considering the Riders had the second rated defense overall this year.

I won't predict a Grey Cup winner out of respect for the two of you who post here the most. I do want the Lions to crush the Stamps (GAWD that was hard to type...fricking Lions) and the Als to school the Argos. Nothing against the boatmen, but Toronto doesn't deserve teh pleasure of hosting the home team in a Grey Cup. They are only city in the league who literally wouldn't go nuts for a chance to win a Grey Cup at home. I bet the average cab-driver in TO wouldn't have a clue next week if the Argos were playing at home in the GC.

Once again, this thread has been fun to take part in this year and I look forward to doing it again in 2013. Cheers guys.

Still got a couple of weeks to go. I'd love to get your unbiased thoughts, after the Division Finals and Grey Cup, Fast Eddie. Personally, I won't take offence. If I was betting, not so sure I'd be betting on the Als to win over a Western opponent, or even the Argos for that matter...

TSN is reporting Tate is out and is wearing a cast on his arm. If thats the case then I don't see Kevin Glenn beating BC.

Als have sold 47,000 tickets to the East Final as of Friday evening. Plus we historically get a good walk up for games at Olympic Stadium as well.

Man, two years in a row losing close ones at the Big O in the playoffs. Frustrating.

Our Jeckyll and Hyde D was stellar in the first half and SUCKED in the second. I hate Reinbold's scheme. Love the players; hate the plan. Always sending guys at the QB leads to receivers being open and a QB like Ray will find the open man if the line can give him time. Then, if a weapon like Chad Owens makes the catch - look out.

Beyond that, the Als were plagued by dropped balls, and Bratton failing to make that catch at the end of the game really spoke volumes about what we've seen all season.

Cavillo had far from his best game and I'm curious to see if this is the end. I think it should be. He had a great regular season. Go out gracefully.

I am happy for Scott Mialonovich though.

Predictions?

Calgary was my cup pick before the playoffs, but I have a feeling about the Argos, at home, in the 100th Grey Cup.

I feel dirty cheering for them, but with the Argos head coach and d-co-ordinator coming from the Als, I'm cheering for them.

It's been a long time since an Eastern team, not named Alouettes, has won the big mug.

If anything, this gives hope to every team in the league. Toronto missed the playoffs last year, got themeselves a coach and QB, trimmed some trouble-makers, went 9-9, and won the Cup.

I can't help but think that should be the Als' Cup, but this IS good for the league.

I don't think Tillman gives a shit. Part of me still thinks this was a league conspiracy to get the Argos to the final, for a home Grey Cup, in it's 100th year. It would have looked bad had Montreal/Calgary played before a half empty stadium.

Anyone watch the Vanier Cup on Friday night? I thought we were in for another classic, and then Laval totally went to town in the 2nd half. I think that brain fart at the end of the 1st woke them up. Fuck, can that kid run, and that kicker... wow!

The Jeff Reinebold era is OVER in Montreal. Thank god. His high risk, high reward defence was a total bust. Good personnel, bad scheme.

Lots of rumors that ex-Riders Head Coach, Greg Marshall, will be the next DC over here.
