While I'm sure PAT play injuries are rare, the Patriots have like six tight ends. WTF is a stud like Gronkowski even doing on that team?
And yes I'm pissed because of fantasy implications.

ND's chances of winning at ND have increased because
Matt Barkley has been ruled out of the game with a sprained
shoulder.
Redshirt Freshman will start for USC.

Re: College Football season has begun!
He's such a perfect fit at LSU. The coach is just as damn crazy as the entire fanbase. I wish I could be an LSU fan sometimes. Most Alabama fans just piss me the fuck off. Everytime one of us does or says something that comes off as intelligent, 10,000 more of them kill a tree or teabag some dude in a Krystal or show up at a football game with toilet paper and laundry detergent. If an LSU fan does something stupid, it's not "Oh, those LSU fans sure are some dumb motherfuckers," but more like, "Look at those crazy coon-ass LSU fans! Are those guys having fun are what!?"exitflagger wrote: He had another thing in front of the press and he looked like somebody had been swatting him with a rolled up newspaper. All that being said, here's hoping for two in a row in '12.

Just one of a myriad of reasons why I dislike Nike U. Even without title game implications (at least before last weekend), I still would've been pulling for OSU this week.

As both a former Eugene resident and a former employee of the U of Oregon, I can totally say that those kids are bought and paid for. I will laugh if the NCAA actually starts cracking down on dealings of that nature. Oregon would be screwed for quite some time.

Re: College Football season has begun!
With Barkley being out (if you can believe anything Kiffin/USC puts out considering they usually dont release injured player updates, as well as Kiffins tendency to "bend" the rules), USC will have an uphill fight to pull off this win. But, the freshman quarterback has seen some snaps this year, and hes actually not too bad...he did beat out a Sophomore for the back-up position in the off-season.
ND truly has their fate in their own hands...1 more win and they are a shoe-in for the #1 slot/BCS Title Game. Alabama still has perennial rival Auburn, as well as a pretty damn kick-ass Georgia team to get through...not so much as shoe-in since Texas A&M proved that you can tire out the Tide defense.
I am still sticking by the Crimson Tide though...I believe they will put Auburn down by 17+. It wont be as easy vs Georgia, but I still think the Tide will come out with the win by 7+. I will also be bold and say that if all this above plays out, Alabama will roll on the Irish by 14...ND just doesnt have the stamina to play defense that Bama does...Bama will wear them down over 4 quarters, after jumping out with a 21+ point 1st half...final score, Alabama Crimson Tide 42 , Notre Dame Fighting Irish 28.
2013 BCS National Champs, back to back and 3rd in 4 years, The University of Alabama, making them 15 time National Champs(recognized)...

Not sure if the kid has bit off more than he can chew here, but I kind of like his confidence.
In an interview on 710 ESPN Radio in Los Angeles, Wittek expressed confidence in his abilities -- and trust in head coach Lane Kiffin leading into the showdown against Notre Dame.
"If he wants to air it out, let's air it out," Wittek said of Kiffin. "If he wants to pound it on the ground, let's do that. I'm gonna go out there, I'm gonna play within myself, within the system, and we're gonna win this ballgame."

LOL, the Pitt was a bad call, but none of you hacks have one picture or video to prove that Stanford scored aTD. If anything the video leans towards his elbow being down.Rorysfan wrote:System won't allow ND to lose. Just ask Stanford and Pitt. ND makes too much $$$.
And the system? Is that the same system that had ND ranked behind KSU? Is that the same system that thinks that the 5th best SEC team better than most other conference leaders?

What's this 'fix is in thing for ND' when it's the first time they've been number one in the nation in over 300 weeks? I can't believe how long people can hold a grudge over their past success as they haven't been this good in a decade.NeverSurrender wrote:LOL, the Pitt was a bad call, but none of you hacks have one picture or video to prove that Stanford scored aTD. I dont' typically take pleasure in other people's pain, but there's something kind of nice about seeing an undefeated Ohio St without a ranking by their name.

Dio - The Last In Line as the lead-in music for the Notre Dame vs USC game right now...too cool...

Well, there ya go...for any who dont think Notre Dame is deserving...you are foolish. The Irish, as much as I hate the school and its refusal to join a Conference, I have to appluad them for finishing with a perfect 12-0 record. They have played with composer all season long, and thusly, they have secured their berth in the big game down in Miami Florida in January.
Hopefully, they will face the Crimson Tide...and get a stunning loss out of the deal...

Why join a conference? Everyone in a conference just conference hops every 3 or 4 years now anyway. Re: College Football season has begun!
Well, not "everyone" in a Conference jumps ship...that seems to happen in the Conferences that are lower paying...those teams hop to larger paying Conferences. Take the SEC for example...when was the last time you saw any team from there leave to go elsewhere...but you do see them wanting to come to the SEC. I would be willing to bet $100 that you never see a "core" SEC team like Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss or Florida leave for any other Conference or to be an Independent.johnk5150 wrote:Why join a conference? I would like to see all Div 1 schools in a conference, regardless of where... Army and Air Force are the ones who would benefit the most, Notre Dame gets by simply because of the money given to them by the Catholic Church as well as the dedicated Irish fans and alumni. They would be a perfect fit in either the Big 12, Big 10 or Big East, and I am sure the additional Conference money could be used to offer more scholarships to help in "outside the Church domain" recruiting...

Yep...its true...St_Augustines_Pears wrote:I can't post the link because I'm at work, but Yahoo Sports is reporting that Auburn has fired Gene Chizik...big surprise there.![]()
From the penthouse to the outhouse in 2 years.
Auburn fires Gene Chizik as Coach after 3-9 season
"Gene Chizik led Auburn to a historic season but couldn't keep the Tigers from descending to their lowest point in decades. The rapid fall from a national championship to 3-9 and the Southeastern Conference doormat led to Chizik's firing Sunday, the day after a humbling 49-0 loss to No. 2 Alabama that showed just how far the program has fallen...."
Personally, I think this is a mistake on Auburns part. Chizik was just coming out of all of Tommy Tubervilles players this year, but he was still having to coach kids who were recruited for Gus Malzahns Spread Offense, an offensive scheme Chizik wasnt happy with and was moving away from last season. Give him another year or two and I believe he could have had Auburn back up into SEC contention at the very least.
Now instead of 1 or 2 "retooling" years with players he helped recruit, you will have a new coach and staff spending 3-4 years trying to break old and new players to a new system. Auburn has to pay out $11.5 million in contractual salaries on top of whatever a new coach and staff will cost...this would have been no more than $5mil had they kept Chizik for one more year, and would have in turn took a chunk out of the buyout prices...not good football or business sense to me...

Re: College Football season has begun!
Yeah, Chizik won't be hurting for money. I read that he'll be getting over $200,000 per month (that's right...per month) from Auburn the next few years.
Iowa State fans still consider Chizik a traitor (
) for bolting from ISU to Auburn, but can you blame him? Fuck, the best he could have hoped for at ISU is playing in a C grade bowl game each year. Now he's got a BCS Championship ring and is swimming in money. Nice work if you can get it.
Boston College, Colorado, and Purdue also shitcanned their football coaches.

I was a total wreck during that game. If anything else made me feel that way, I'd avoid it like a p13 excuse.
